what the hek!!! this is embarrising to the maori people!! this should not be done by female and espeshily when they arent doing it any where near close to how its done! its a HAKA its supposed to be intimidating and thertning not a bellarina hula looking dance! a haka consist of MANA! i this there is none of that anywhere.... before doing a haka u should no the kaupapa behind the haka.. there is alot of mean behind them which is why they are intimidating.. i just think this is discraceful!

@MrKahutia1 no need to be racist, I love maori ppl and maori culture and as a "white bastard" myself I think you should try and educate on maori culture rather than put them down when they are trying to embrase and enjoy it. Since when is it your culture to call ppl 'cunt heads' over a misunderstanding? perhaps u should learn some manners about how to speak when women are around rather than worrying about this
im tired of hearing people say women dont haka... they haka all the time. Come to the coast ill show u some intimidating woman who will show most men how its done.
@Missnelly100 Aint that a fact! For those who whinge and moan about women doing the haka. Who were the Toa Wahine who pulled there WAKA ashore??????? And where did they come from???? And they earned the right to speak on their PAEPAE. And so they in my mind earned the right to HAKA!!!!!!!!!!!! So tell me now WOMEN should not Haka. So to all those women from the coast....GO HARD AND HAKA UP!!!!!
If I ever get my hands on these disrespectful women they will be sorry. How dare they take a taonga and trivialise it in this manner. Don't come to New Zealand, ever!!!
This is just disturbing, and out right disgusting, I agree with alot of the comments on here, Ka Mate isn't a haka, a Haka isn't a war dance, and Women have their own style of Haka, alot different to the Haka now commonly associated with the male Haka.
This is WRONG.
E kore au e whakae kia peneitia a tatau taonga whakahekea mai i Nga tipuna, AUE!! Te Aroha hoki.
this is soooo shameful - how disgusting but that's pakeha's for yah! hardcore disrespectful!!!! FLAG THIS VIDEO AS INAPPROPRIATE - "VIOLENT OR REPULSIVE - PROMOTES TERRORISM" terrorising our taonga (treasure)
Relax...they aint disrespecting the culture...just shows u how powerful the Maori culture is that people on the other side off the world know a bit about the Maori culture!!
WHY are women doing a Haka? This lacks mana! It may have been light hearted fun for the participants but it is an insult being followed by a Michael Jackson dance.
Haka, needs male aggression, it is a challenge display of courage and is about war - it is supposed to powerful. This attempt at a haka on this was 'empty' I'd not play with another race's culture like that, it is borderline disrespectful.
@hazelcd1 There's nothing wrong with women doing a Haka. We can be every bit as powerful, courageous, agressive and fierce as the blokes.
It is not disrespect. It's great to see people learning about a part of the Maori culture. These people are showing others what the Haka is like as well, so there is nothing bad about it.
@drtyda This is the 21st century. The only 'battles' we have nowadays that require such a war cry is the rugby. Therefore, it's perfectly alright to have a woman perform a Haka. My old netball coach was known for her Haka performance, and had the fiercest pūkana eyes I've ever seen on anyone, man OR woman.
I really hope both of you arnt maori because you should know a Haka isnt a war dance and it can be performed by anyone . Ka Mate isnt even a war dance , its amazing how people think it is . Please learn about what your posting and the true history and culture behide it .
@drtyda since when has it been against maori culture for women to haka?? where the heck are you from??obviously you havent seen kapa haka roopu such as Te Mataarae i o rehu, manutaki, te whanau a apanui etc.. leave these women.. at least they trying!! there's some maori's out there that dont give a crap about our culture, im sure therez maori's that want to try hip hop, salsa, jazz, hula and any other dance from another culture and look gumby too!! common yall lighten up!
@helanth yea that will depend on where you come from and where im from doesn't allow females to perform the the haka, these women did well and ur right good on them for trying but it doesn't look right for females to perform the haka thats my opinion.
