@campfirestring In ancient times Japanese yumi ranged from 20 kilo to 45 kilo. today the range is 6 kilo to 30 with most people shooting in the middle around 15 to 20 kilo. But the taller a person is the longer the draw and more weight has to be added.

I have practiced kyudo for quit some time now, The draw weights are from 10 Kilograms (22 Pounds) all the way to 25 Kilograms (55 Pounds).

How strong were these bows?
The sound of release is quite sharp, could be due to the mic though.
