  • I think it depends on your skin tone, I dont use any other tanning products. I use a full body one for my legs and a half for my upper body and it gives me a reeeeally good glow. The PLUS ones work better than the CLASSIC though. And the tanning blends areas I miss as well!

  • i would really recommend searching online for famous dave's moisture tan. it's odor free, long lasting, and you only need a little so the bottle lasts and lasts!

  • I am really glad you mentioned to use a drug store self tanner first because it made all the difference!! You were very helpful! Thank you

  • Is the scent to the tan towel's ok? thanks

  • @AngeLEyes8100 it is the typical self tanner scent

  • I went to tan bed 2 weeks ago, so i'm pretty white on my non tanned area. Had a very light tan from the bed. Did not go well for the first time.

Use tan towels for the first time self tanning 2 days ago and another one yesterday. It was nicely tanned on the area that was tanned from the bed, but very light on the lighter area. Bad streaks on my feet and wrist. Not good at all for my feet. You were right that it's only good for already tanned area. A no for me on this self tanner.

  • "Tinted Love" best self tanner out there.

  • i've just used some sun self tanner and im waiting to see how that comes out the application was kind of a fight but all i care about is results im so scared to use towelettes i might try those though, would you still reccomend them after trying others?

btw your skin color looks great in this video i noticed in one of your videos you looked quite dark and didn't look as natural but im sure it was just ur cameras lighting whether or not thats the case i think this color suits you very well =]

  • I totally disagree tan towels are awesome alone but I do need two, I use one before bed and 5 minutes later I put my pj's on and go to bed in he morning I use another one wait 5 minutes then get dressed .oo forgot to mention the shower before the evening tan towel. I get so dark then I just use one twice a week to maintain my tan

  • Have you tried the One Step Tan towels? I have had amazing results with them and they are cheaper than tan towels. You can get 12 towels for $21 and some odd cents. I use them with a gradual tanner to maintain and my tan will last 7-8 days. They give a really nice tan in one application and are so easy to use.

  • @angeljane82 I have not tired those this year so far I have been doing the versa spa at a tanning place! :o)

  • L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tannig Gelee' as a drug store self tanner. It's amazing and it dries quickly. However, make sure to disperse it quickly and there are no extra "wet" spots on your body. Before applying to your legs, make sure to put a dab of lotion on your knees, elbows and feet. BTW, I just bought the Tantowel, used 3 of them in one day and I LOVE them!

  • holy grail? TRY TONI BRATTIN TAN SECRET! its AMAZING. Extremely easy to see where it goes on, dries fast doesnt smell, INSTANT results. great product buy it from HSN-home shopping network for about 20 dollars!

  • I know that Tan Towel will send out samples to people if you send them a self addressed stamped (2 stamps) envelope, that way you don't have to buy a whole box to try the other kind. Third, I know you aren't supposed to use any kind of moisturizer, lotion, or basically anything wet on your skin for about 4 hours before and after using a tan towel. Something about it can prevent the tanner from setting in and working with your skin. You should also make sure to exfoliate really well before.

  • Second, there are two formulas of Tan Towel...classic and plus. The classic is for people with naturally light to medium skin tones, and the plus is for people with naturally darker skin tones. I can't really tell from the light in the video, but if you didn't see as much color from the plus towelette that you tried, you might try out the classic. Since they are specifically formulated for different skin types, you might get better color from the other one.

  • Very good, very informative video. Thanks Lisa

  • I just thought I would post a comment that might help you get better results from the Tan Towel products if you choose to give them another try. A couple suggestions...First, the tanning mist you tried is actually meant to be a "reloader" of sorts for when the towelettes start to dry out. The formula for the tanning mist, strength-wise, is actually between that of the Classic and Plus formula, so if you are using the plus, you may not see any result from the mist.

  • how often do you put the drugstore tanner on your skin...once a week? thanks for reviewing this product

  • @sportigurl73 yes about one a week!

  • @Lisasz09 YOU LOOK NICE AND TAN WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT SUN LABORTORIES SELF TANNER LOTION HAVE YOU TRY IT

  • @BELLA123360 I have not tried their lotion- just the spray!

  • does the tan towel get stuck in the creases of your elbows/knees/wrists?

  • @emilytaylor15 no I did not notice that happening!

  • is there a good department store self tanner that you like ?

  • @lovetherosess I have not found any at department stores- St Tropez is still my fav and you can buy it at other stores!

  • Hey Lisa. Thanks for all the great advice. I still have some questions that I hope you can answer. I have FAIR SKIN. So after using Loreal, my skin will be 4-5 shades darker then my hands and areas on my feet. Can you use tan towels to tan your hand without the orange palms? Also, if the loreal lotion creates streakes and blotches, why wait 2 days to even it out with the tan towels? Thanks so much!

  • I suggest to use a damp sponge with any self tanner and dot then smooth it over your hands and feet so they match your arms and legs! :o) Good Luck!

  • Hi Lisa!! I was at the hairdresser getting a blow out and there was a lady there and her legs were milky white and she had a wedding. Some other woman pulled out a real paint brush out of her bag and pulled out Dermablend leg and body cover- in a bronze shade- she painted this lady's legs and they were fantastic. Ah the things we women will do. Anyway- how would you pick a color of Dermablend that is great, as it is water proof and great for emergencies, however I can only find it online.

  • wow that is cool- I have a St Tropez one right now maybe I will try that one next season since the one I have is not waterproof! :o) Thanks!

  • oh I forgot to answer how you can knwo what color. I generally just try to find reviews or read reviews online so i can gage it by other peoples views. If not I just try and guess and make sure they havea return policy! :o) Good Luck!

  • Like in this video I think your face looks better than the other I left a comment on. Maybe everything is identical and thus I leave this comment for you to possibly throw out if it's clear I don't know what I am talking about. Maybe it's the shiny-ness, maybe it's just the video lighting. Have fun. Bye.

  • Rcommend using the PLUS formula ~ better results. The EXPRESS TAN is now available. You apply the tan towel then spray the Express Tan on the towelette to receive a gold tan for immediate results. HINT When applying the tan towel don't unfold the entire towel at once. Use one side of the towel at a time, flipping over and unwrapping on each desired area. Towards end of application use on Feet, back of hands, elbows and knees. Safely use this before a special event. without turning orange.

  • God this girl is so damn gorgeous :)

  • I love tan towels, but I do the opposite. I use the tan towel first and then use a self tanner to cover any areas that I've missed .. lol.

I truly dislike the Loreal Sublime - very sticky, tacky .. never seemed to dry .. etc .. but ya know .. everyone has their favorite.

  • great tips! :o) Thanks! I agree on the sublime now that I have found others! :o) Glad the tan towels work for you!

  • Hey there, I was watching the HSN presentation this evening on the spray mist product that they are including in the purchase of the towels. They state that you use the mist to re wet your previously used towels. i am wondering if this could have changed your opinion on the mist or did you also use it to re wet the towels?

  • Interesting. I only used the towels on tehir own and then the spray seperate! :o)

  • thanks for your info! But, my skin color is very fair. and when i say very fair, i mean i'm ghostly pale (NOT albino) and i always wanted to get a tan at least once in my life. I found these tan towels in a magazine and read that they sell them in very fair. So, I was thinking I should try them out and see the results. but since my skin tone is paler than yours, the towel might make my skin darker. Also, I just want ti to last for a week and have my normal tone back. Any tips for my skin tone?

  • they would probably work for that purpose! Good Luck! :o)

  • i want to try it, but i don't want to stain my skin...

  • If your looking for the perfect self tanner purchase Bare Escentuals 16oz, big daddy on QVC. I have tried them all and BE is the best.

  • I have used the BE faux tan also! :o) Thanks for the tip!

  • Hey Lisa! have you heard of Toni brattin * toni`s tan secret? they say its good, can u find out if its true. Thanks.

  • I have not tried that one yet! I just ordered an airbrush one though! That is the next test! :o)

  • im still trying to find the best tan product.

im still so white...and summers coming fast.

  • by far St tropez is the best for any skintone!!!! :o) Good Luck!

  • the sun. with sun screen.

  • Do you have a favorite drugstore tanner?

  • I have tried quite a few but I dont ever really like them! :o(

  • I don't know if you've ever heard of it but the brand "Toma" works amazing.

Check that out when you get a chance!

    =)

  • I have not heard of that- for right now I am in love with the St Tropez mouse! :o)

  • oh sorry never mind! i just found your review on it, lol! well thx for posting up all these reviews, they are very helpful and informative ;)

  • yay! Glad you found it!

  • :) thx! your skin always looks great, great tan! i just recieved my xen tan deep bronze... i don't know if there is a difference between their "deep bronze" and "dark tan", but I am pleased with the color, smell and texture. I will try the st tropez though, just to see the difference... thx again!!!!!

  • aww thanks! I am glad you got one- I hope you love it! :o)

  • have you ever tried xen tan?

  • I saw below you found the review! :o)

  • I always stay away from self tan products like if they were the plague. I'm so afraid of waking up the next day looking white and tanned in all different areas!!!

  • haha! I used to have that fear too! I got over it after a few trys! :o)

  • Ok...This may sound silly, but how do you do areas that are hard to reach i.e. your back! lol. Do you just leave them white?

  • haha- great question- I guess it just took some getting used to _ i just really reacha nd sometimes if my bf is home I ask him to help! :o)

  • I agree for drugstore's it is my fav! Now I am testing outside of the drugstore brands! :o)

  • I love hearing about your experiences with the self tanners. What do you do about the horrendous smell? I have tried Neutrogena Sun Fresh and had excellent results (but it is a colorless lotion, so you can't see where it was applied). I think I tried their Instant Bronze for face, but I can't remember if I liked it or not.

  • Some have smells some dont- most just have a scent if you sweet! :o) I have used the neutrogena spray one but i didnt get enough color from it! :o)

  • Yes, please keep doing these reviews! So far, you are right on the money with my opinions on those we used in common, so keep them coming! Let's hope we find a good one this year!

  • I am glad you enjoy them! I hope one of the new 3 I bought are the HG one! I bought 3 that people on YT rave about! so here crossing our fingers and hoping! :o)

  • YOU are my Holy Grail!!! THANK YOU for testing out these products. After you complete your little science experiment, I am totally going to buy your Holy Grail product. Great reviews. Can't wait to see what you think is the best.

  • haha! I have three more to try and I will do reviews on each after a few days and then at the end I will do a comparison video! :o)

  • Great video! And great tip to use towels in between tanner aplivations. Thanks!

  • I am glad you found it helpful! :o) More reviews on tanneers to come! :o)

  • Looking forward to those :).

  • every tanner I have ever tried turned super streaky and ORANGE....nightmare! maybe becus they have always been drugstore kinds.....i don't know

  • I have found a few that are ok from drugstores, but they turn orange easier than others I think!

  • Goodness, you're skin looks lovely. I'm wondering if you've got the Chanel foundation on..hmmm Great video!

  • I was wearing the chanel in this video! :o) thanks!

  • Hey Lisa! what e/s and lip products are you wearing? is it the same as on your tag 10 q? thanks...

  • I think I had on fresco rose paint pot with grain e/s over it! Lips I had on Viva Glam V! :o)

  • Thank you!!

  • Great review. Your coloring right now looks great! Nice idea to use tan towels as a touch up.

I love the idea of trying various tanners now to try and see before it's summer. Great tip!

  • Thanks- I said that because I dont htink they are good for your main self tanner unless you want to be lightly tanned! they are better for touch ups to keep the tan even! :o)

I am using Decleor right now and love it! amazing! next week is the St Tropez then the week after is Xen Tan! :o) I will do reviews on all of them at different stages! :o)

  • Im scared to put a self tanner on my face...any tips?

  • I would suggest starting with a buildable moisturizer one! jergens and dove make great ones! Good luck and enjoy! :o)

  • I'm curious about your experience with drugstore-brand self tanners... and the St Tropez. Everyone raves about the St Tropez so do let us know how you get on with that one :)

  • I have used Loreal and neutrogena spray from teh drugstores and they loreal is the better one! I cant wait to try the St Tropez and the Xen tan ones- so far the decleor is great though! :o)

  • Just wanted to say I love all your videos! You really get into detail and I have the basically the same skin tone and skin type. Love your choices and keep the videos coming......

  • I am glad you enjoy them! Let me knwo if there is anything you want to see a review on! :o)

  • hey! when you take stuff back what happens? does it all just go to waste?

    I'm just curious? :-)

  • I dont know you would have to check with each store to find out what tehir policy is. they might ship it back to the company for a credit or give it to employees to try or whatever each company requires them to do! :o)

  • bring on the st tropez!!!!!!!! i can't wait to see how u look with it on!

  • I got it today, but I am going to keep using the Decleor this week then I will try the tropez! I did put it on one area to see what it is like- seems good light formula because of the mosse dries fast too! :o)

  • Hey Lisa!

I've been using Tan Towels for almost three years. I've actually purchased them on Qvc I believe but to really see a nice natural tan u can use it with the Bare Escentuals (Faux Tan) body lotion...This lotion is AMAZING!!! you get a natural look....Just so info in case you're interested, and u can get the big bottle on QVC for a good price...Belle

  • great tips thanks! :o)
