There's always parts of towns and cities that are a bit rough but portsmouth has some reallly nice posh area's such as southsea, old portsmouth, gunwarf and eastney. there are also some nice parts of southampton but also some rough pikey ares there too. Portsmouth is no where near as bad as it has been made out on here, lived in pompey all my life. there are alot worse places to live belive me!!

I used to live in Portsmouth and used to go to home away games in the late 70's and early eighties so I know what it was like. I have been to Portsmouth recently and am amazed at how things have improved including the quality of the people
I know Portsmouth well, have family there and have been going back and forth on visits since I was a kid. The last time I was down was only for the weekend though last August and it was great to finally stand side by side drinking with the Pompey fans in Fratton at Gun-wharf and on Gosport. I used to live in Portsmouth and used to go to home away games in the late 70's and early eighties so I know what it was like. Not always herioc, some things people should be ashamed of but true they were hard bastards and some of them were almost animal like. I have been to Portsmouth recently and am amazed at how things have improved including the quality of the people

I know Portsmouth well, have family there and have been going back and forth on visits since I was a kid. The last time I was down was only for the weekend though last August and it was great to finally stand side by side drinking with the Pompey fans in Fratton at Gun-wharf and on Gosport.
