He is good and he has stayed around. Saw him at the 606 club last week, Chelsea- the best live show I've ever seen. REAL music, sung with passion and 'performed' like music should be. Steve continues to write, will be releasing another album & touring with his Great American Soul Book show, has just recorded a track for Ian Levine's new album Disco 2008; Liane Carroll & Jeffrey Daniel of Shalamar will be recording with him soon- so, I don't know where you get the idea he's not around!!!

Steve's covers are distinctive and different- not your usual predictable ones: David Ruffin's I Wish it would rain and Sam Cook's Heaven To me for example REAL soul classics.

Steve hired his relative Ruprect, who was born tone deaf, for a modest sum of £6.50 and a packet of quavers. I guess the touching lyrics inspired ruprect to produce such a visual feast!!

It is a great video, allegedly Steve Brookstain has a young relative who was just starting a basic gcse course in photography and editing. Steve paid him the pricely sum of £6.50 and a packet of cheesy quavers to film and edit the video for his first epic song 'Fighting Butterflies'. Naturally Steves relative, ruprect who is unfortunately tone deaf jumped at the chance being a big fan of Steve's. And the rest, as they say is history.
