  • that s a wet one

  • did the plane bounce?

  • that's mighty steep flaps angle :o

  • sorry i don't understand the languange of the first girl... can anybody tell me?

  • i love finnair

  • I love Helsinki

  • wow look at the angle of the flaps

  • Ha, I was expecting Finnish first, followed by Swedish, Chinese, and English. But I guess Finnair values their Chinese-speaking customers very much.

  • Great landing, isn't that considered a long flight for an MD-11? Not that i've been on one... haha, just wondering.

  • Nice landing, thankyou. And nice announcements.

Kiitos videostasi, arvostan myös sitä että kaikissa videoissasi on miehistön kuulutukset.

    KIITOS!

  • Thanks for your nice comment! :) I`ll try to take cabin announcements to my videos all the time!

Kiitos mukavasta kommentista! :) Haluan videoihini myös miehistökuulutukset aina mukaan! Joku kielisäätäjä voi parantaa tuo äskeisen käännöksen ;)

  • bumpy landing :)

  • @rtyugjyuh86 I know that it might look bumpy, but even a soft touchdown can look hard when its taken by camera.

  • Kyl kai poistettiin.Ja on munki mielest rahtikone???

  • buhuu i miss finnair md-11 and thailand

  • the language part is quite interesting. Chinese followed by three different European languages....Geography and population wise, EU is pretty similar to China. But China has become a unified nation for over 2000 yrs while Europe is still divided with different languages. its just interesting.

  • the eu is hardly similar to china

  • How? I live in Europe, and there is lot of difference to china !

  • Was that an ILS or VOR approach?

  • ILS OFC

they need a glideslope if they cannot see the rw.. else they won't know how fast they have to decend

  • passenger flights are always all ifr: and the very least the must do is a precision approach a non precision approach is hoever possible at smaller airports as long as minimums are met or use alternate

  • Tämä Md-11 poistettiin jo käytöstä, eikös? Tais menneen rahtikoneeks jonnekin.. :/

  • Aeroflotille

  • Kyllä niitä vielä tuntuu Helsinki-Vantaalla näkyvän... Rivissä porttejen luona :)!

  • Perfeckt video

  • I will write in English and not Finnish as I already know suomeksi:P but... why in mandarin chinese??? that was a little bit weird. Swedish, that I can understand as someone learns Swedish in School as a third language in Finland.

  • That`s all right! The flight was coming from Beijing and there was more than one chinese flight attendants serving chinese passengers with their mother language. I don`t know if there is anymore chinese cabing crew on board with Finnair`s flight to Beijing, Shanghai or Kanton?!

  • There are only a handful of Asian F/As in European Airlines, mainly acting as translators. They only fly routes to and from their own country.

Labor unions usually don't allow airlines to hire more Asian F/As, fearing that their pay conditions would be eroded.

  • Finnair, your airline between Europe and Asia rings a bell???

  • Have Fun In The Rain Cause I live south finland too in helsinki :D

  • finnair is never crashed

  • What's your point? Finnair had two crashes in the 60s although their name wasn't Finnair back then. (And in one of the accidents the pilots were drunk--there's a culture of safety for you.) Besides, statistics are totally unmeaningful for such a small fleet as Finnair's. One of the reasons for not having crashed (at least in the last 50 years) is, statistically speaking, lack of aircraft to crash.

  • quite shitty arguments you were able to bring forward there mate.

  • hahah thousands, you mean 100's

  • rough day for landing

  • typical day in EFHK...

  • Those are my favotite landing.

  • well in swedish, because it's the official language in Finland, but why chinese? the plane came from China, right?

  • actually, you know finnish is the main language in finland and yes, the plane came in from beijing

  • Wow!

It must have been a scary adventure. If my mother were in that aeroplane, she would have pissed in her panties. She is very afraid of flying. Thanks a million.

  • Finnair' people are too experienced, they can't crash.

  • finnair is never crashed

  • those are some big ugly flaps... bounce on landing.. nice video though.. looks intense.

  • the flaps on the MD11 are gorgeous...it's a beautiful craft..

  • One mans 4 is another mans 10 they say.

  • Yeah The Wing is AWesome But whats that thing moving in middle(square)

  • The long thing that is oriented downwards most of the time is a flap. The smaller square bit next to it (closer to the fuselage) is an aileron. The thing that pops up immediately after the landing is a spoiler.

  • i'dont know about planes but it was nice (it think)

  • flying at 3?? I call.. BULLSHIT!

  • omg how fast did he land!?!!

  • prob so that way the wind wouldnt effect the plane as much :D

  • Again finnair land's safely :D

  • This Flight i think it was from somewhere in China to Helsinki so thats why i think it is saying it in mandarin.

  • The flight was coming from Beijing.

  • The fact it says if comes from Beijing (which is somewhere in China) kind of gives it away DUMBASS

  • normally it's forbidden to film in taking off and in landing no?

  • finnair is best

  • Comment removed

  • whooh, i think the speed was a little bit fast it looks like about 250 knots instead of ~180 during the landing

  • This video was filmed by Nikon Coolpix 5900 at 15 frames per second.

YouTube`s FLV format is playing it around 25 fps, so it looks a little bit faster.

I think the landing speed was quite all right.

  • Well..of course the announcement is in all those languages. Finland has two languages: Finnish and Swedish. And mandarin because they come from Beijing...and English for those who don't speak any of those three.

  • Nice landing in rainy weather! At first, I didn't make the distinction between the Swedish and Finnish announcement since it sounded like one continuous announcement. Then, I listened to again and realized that the first time, the flight attendant says Helsinki and the second one, Helsingfors. That's how you can tell.

  • mandarin chinese, finnish, swedish and english! Holy shit!

  • This video is starting at 14:24 EET (02:24 PM) (local time). Obviously she should say nice afternoon, but I think that they don`t have any other options in their book to say than good morning, day, or evening...

  • The Finnish word for "afternoon" is a combination of the words for "night" and "day". So evening is the true translation word for word, even though we would call it afternoon. She probably only ever speaks English while on the plane.

  • The Finnish word for "afternoon" (iltapäivä) is a combination of the words for "ilta" (evening) and "day" (päivä). In Finland afternoon is the time of day from 12:00 (noon) to sunset, when the evening begins.

  • If it is like in Sweden, even at 10:00 pm looks like it is 3:00pm. The sun goes down only for a few hours by midnight on the summer. I think that's the reason why she said have a nice evening.

  • what time was this? The FA said have a nice evening.

  • The Chinese announcer said it's 2:30 p.m. local time.

  • really? :D

  • yeah..thers a flight from Hong Kong that comes in !

  • Wow they got chinese announcement in Finnair.

  • Nice wing vortex!
