i was thinking while playing the game, why didn't bethesda just let people break down items it would make them seem more useful when you dont need them and then a genius comes along in a mod and does it, really need to get this for pc. BTW how do other people pronounce orichalcum, i personally say it ori-calcum
Enchanting and Smithing already level fast as f***, if I could break down what I just crafted for ~50% of the goods, I could level smithing 50% faster, as I would have to gather 50% less items.
Also it makes no sense that you can craft a more worthy metal from 2+ less valuable ones.
Even Skyrims alchemist cant turn lead into gold(mages can transmute iron nevertheless), so why should a humble smith can do it with nothing more than a smelting oven?
@W0tanTheGod well that's the thing, in real life you could actually melt things down, it was basically mediaval recycling. in Skyrim there is magic and dragons and stuff so the balance is thrown off because it's now technically more real. all in all no ones forcing anyone to download anything if you feel that strong about it.
your videos or really good you have such a professional voice and outstanding video quality so thank you very much for all the effort you put in these
There was a 4GB Skyrim update and an FXAA Post Process Injector update and now they don't want to play together. GopherVids (or anyone else that has a clue), can you help?
i like how you go over how to install each mod even though its the same for every single mod that is supported by nexus download manager helps out the completely clueless people who cant click 2-3 buttons good job mate
Cheers Gophervids for all your Skyrim vids very much appreciated.
1) in your next vid can you please go over the best way to UPDATE a installed mod to a newer version. I have been un-installing the old mod and downloading the newer version from scratch. I hope there is a better way given the Skyrim HD 2K textures 1.2 by NebuLa is 1GB & looks amazing but I am sure there will be newer version sooner or later.
2) Why did you let us see SkyUI we all want it so much and cant have it just yet :(
Been liking all these Skyrim videos- and I'll probably use the FO:NV mod clinic vids once all that DLC finishes up- and I wanted to say you're doing a great job with production and mod choice.
Question: When a mod updates, how exactly do I install the new one? Does it happen automatically? Do I just install it as I did the first time and let the files copy over? Something I've been thinking about. Thanks again.
@parskatt thats what comes with the computer. im not building it myself. i dont mind playing on a lower graphical setting though, i mean i play minecraft lol. it doesnt really bother me at all
when you're showing the blocky faces (e.g. 00:23), it's not really the face texture that breaks the immersion, but rather the messed up shadows jumping around on the NPC's neck. is there a mod that fixes that?
(i'm not onto skyrim, but one of my friends is, so that's why i'm asking)
Also I was curious about you using Internet Explorer because you seem like a somewhat technically inept guy and if you were you would know that the software is full of holes. All it takes is visiting a website that has the exploit code on it and it's already too late for you. Although with that said, that's not really a problem with what you're using it for, as you are visiting trusted websites with it only for the purpose of this video.
My only problem with Xenius retextures is the darkening effect, otherwise I'd use them. Both his detailed bodies and faces make the skin darker, which annoys me because I specifically chose a pale complexion for my character and the detailed skins ruins the look. I find the same thing with the eyes, my character has hazel eyes but with Xenius eye mod, the eye is pretty much cat yellow when in sun light, which just looks odd.
I never even noticed that about their faces. I mean it just seems to be way too picky. I guess some people get really into the game or something, immersed into it and anything that's not perfect draws them out of it. I don't know really, just trying to understand why things like this bother people so much when I actually never even noticed it.
@JaTochNietDan It depends on the system and the person, and to some extent the setup. On some systems/setups the effect can be startling. They look like androids from some bad sci fi B movie :) For me I dont notice it 99% of the time, and then suddenly someone will turn their head and the light hits just right and it completely destroys immersion. Its like looking at an NPC from a 2002 game planted in a 2011 game.
@GophersVids Of course I actually forgot that some of you guys might be playing in First Person too which may make it far more noticeable since you are actually looking right in their faces. I only play in Third Person so I'm well further away from the people's faces.
Man, you're awesome. Thanks so much for these videos. They really impact the modding community, especially new comers. Modding in Morrowind and Oblivion got so ridiculous after a while, and your videos are sort of keeping this far more organized than before.
Thanks for yet another great video! You should review the Skyrim HD - 2k Textures mod. I was using an older version and its great! Just downloaded the 1.2 version to try out. Also, did you do a video on Vurt's Flora Overhaul? I don't remember. Improved NPC Clothing is pretty good too. Also, I agree that Nexus Mod Manager is much more stable than it was with your initial recommendation, just wish it supported Morrowind, Dragon Age and Witcher 1/2 as well! Maybe in the future!
Requesting a video on Tytanis: The Ultimate Mod. I'm really curious about it, but not sure if I should download it just yet. It seems like a mod that's right up your alley. If you don't want to do a video on it, please at least give it a mention in your Answers sections saying why.
@bDevZPREDA I use Opera on all my mobile devices. Solid and fast. Although in fairness I am biased as it is a norwegian broswer and I have a friend who works for them :)
Does the mod manager update the mods automatically or do you still have to do it yourself? As in it just lets you know when there is a new and you have to redownloaded it.
Great dude! Man I hope someone makes a mod that lets your companions get up on horses. They also need a way for you to fight from horseback, and a hotkey that lets you activate the companion/follower "do something" function, so I can send them on into battle ahead of me more easily while I sneak in behind.
If somebody is experiencing crashes / lag with "XCE - Xenius Character Enchancement" use 4gbskyrim tool/utility (found in nexus). Also if you like Vals crafting mod you should try "Tytanis The Ultimate Mod" it adds new crafting recipes , items and spells.
