One couldn´t hope for more epic and appropriate opening for an Asterix

movie! I am a huge Asterix fan since I was a little boy, I remember watching this in a theatre and I got huge chills running down my spine. The sequels are bullcrap compared to this first one, they are too modernized/messed up with jackass humor.

For their first attempt at a live action Asterix film, they did a great job. Being British, I found it extra fascinating that the English translation was done by Monty Python actor Terry Jones, who also played the voice of Obelix in the film. I also remember Gottfried John from Goldeneye.

Well I think it was filmed in France around the north-west cost and you're right about the title the generic is a remix of "La serpe d'or" but this one is much more dynamic.

J'ai pas l'impression qu'elle ait de nom particulier. D'autres vidéos sur youtube l'appelle "La serpe d'or" ou "l'embuscade" mais je pense que c'est en réalité le titre d'autres morceaux dans le film.

Quand on regarde le nom des morceaux dans le CD de la BO officielle le premier s'appelle "Astérix et Obélix contre César générique du début" donc je pense que c'est celui là.
