I live in southern indiana and when we got hit by ike last year it was pretty hard im not saying it was the worst thing that ever happend or we had it really bad but heres an example we didnt have power for 7 days most places has a gas stove so even if the power isnt out they can still cook well we didnt ours was an electric stove and on top of that we lost all of our food meat cheese milk....etc we dont have a lot of money but we have a lot of caned food and it really helped us out
