u piece of shit.......Tibet is the territory of China for hundreds of years.....I've been living in Qinghai(the province with a large grounp of Tibatans)for 10 years...the monks have enough freedom and the local government spends millions of RMB protecting their culture every year.The Tibetans are just trying to get a an independent state and they would never ever succeed, this is separatism and terrorism.

You're actually very correct. China has invested millions of RMB into Tibet, what the CCP doesn't inform you is that the money doens't stay in Tibet, instead it is immediately outsourced. It's a half truth, they tell you only what they want you to know. If you'd like to find out more information those number I can provide it to you with documents from the Gov't, it's quite funny actually you just need to do a little research and with basic math you can calculate it.

you're right, but they do have control over their own actions and influence others. The olympics are nothing without their athletes. I realise that my post reply is a little late, but especially with recent events in Tibet, I think it is apparent that Beijing is an unfit host.

We are still not calling for a boycott but at least the Olympic torch relay should not be permitted to go through Tibet, it is Tibetan land not Chinese land, and athletes can def influence that decision.

Hey, i'm from Calgary and i think that it's stupid just because i still want to get a visa to visit China. I am not going to be banned from going to China just because of a protest that probably won't help anyone. 5% of the city's population are chinese and i don't think any of them are at the protest. Some are probably thinking the same thing as me, they don't want to be rejected for a visa.

The banner was up for about an hour and half. Many of the Chinese consulate officials actually came out with the City police. They wanted the police to do something and remove the banner. At the end, the Consulate people had to remove the banner themselves.
