I don't think books are a prerequisite for intelligence; I never really understood why people regard them as the primer for such. Sure, they can help expand your knowledge but so can a variety of other things, including films, psychedelic drugs, video games, the Internet and good old-fashioned life experience.

Realistic ending: When Meena's parents came in that afternoon they couldn't believe their eyes, not because the curtains were gone, and the dishes were broken, and the table legs were all chewed up, but because there in the middle of the room was Meena, she was having an acid trip.
