For The 50th Anniversary Of Doctor Who, They Should Re-release All The 60's Episodes, In COLOR! They'd Sell For Gold! Also, Could They PLEASE RELEASE DIMENSIONS IN TIME ON DVD!!!
This story was brilliant for it's time or so you think when you first watch it but if you see it again you see the sheer brilliance of the story and it's certainly a powerful starting point
There just was something special about the very first episodes (this was #1 IIRC). The intelligence of the script, even the cinematography and look of the sets. That original TARDIS interior was beautiful. The only poor thing seems to have been the acting. As if they were rushed and only got 1 take. But whatever. :)
@MXB2001 - There was no such thing as a second take in the early 60's - they played out the whole episode straight through only stopping once or maybe twice for a technical reason. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the acting.
But yes it looks wonderful, Waris Hussein was a superb director and put many later directors to shame.
@Darren79 I didn't mean they were poor actors. Just that the final result was less than perfect. Of course it is obvious that the old episodes were done theatre style, or basically live. That has its own appeal of course. Just takes some re-used to I find. I've seen all the old episodes but it was a long time ago.

Interesting to see a non-restored clip, I think if I wanted a similar experience i'd have to find my VHS copy of this.

Nice Clip but why use such a bad quality print? The print on the Beginnings boxset looked better than this.

@Eripmav They don't use cleaned up clips. Even in new Who Confidential, the don't. Dunno why. Probably some money/law/silly reason.

@Eripmav I guess it highlights the great restoration that goes into every release. Maybe thats why they uploaded this bad quality clip. :/
