I didn't like the movie as much as the first, I LOVED the music though... oh and Maxwell Caulfield :) He was gorgeous back in the day.. I didn't like it because he had to become 'popular' for her to like him, or admit it anyway, which isn't what people should be taught.

@sotthapana you really think so? weird cos it's actually not great from a religious perspective - in both movies they glamorise sex, smoking and rebel from societies' norm, which in america at the times the films were made, societies' norm would be the 'religious weirdos'

But in my limited experience (I'm only 28), the people I've met who really like Grease are young girls and housewives and they were actually all religious (active in church communities). Maybe due to the times, they just like it for the entertainment value and don't understand how it used to challenge the status-quo??

I think this movie would have gotten a better response if they made it as a musical separate from Grease. Grease 2 has some really good songs, but the songs seem to allude to the first movie (girl for all seasons/beauty school drop out); rock-a-hula/we go together etc.

Everyone involved should've known they'd never top Grease, the original. However, I seen Grease 2 first, on Showtime as a kid, and was a fan immediately.
