  • ok im going to to make a pointless shifting video aswell in my 94 automatic chevy. and post it. i want to be cool like the rest of you guys :( FAGS jesus christ its not hard to shift a nv5600. try a 13 and a 4 speed brownie with 2 speed rear ends. now thats worth filming

  • @TBWdracula2003 160k views, someone thinks it's cool. Thanks.

  • @TBWdracula2003 you mad bro?

  • @jcolcord5 a plethora of reasons but ill stick to 2, 1) it takes zero talent to shift a nv5600 2) its pointless to make a video of shifting a sequential gear pattern , he might as well have made a video on how to slice cheese.

  • @TBWdracula2003 It is not about how simple or complicated the shifting is-- you are misunderstanding the point. I wanted to produce an accurate video of a stock Cummins 6spd so viewers could listen and see what/how it sounds/functions. Surely, shifting is like slicing cheese, but simplicity was never the issue. This video has plenty of views to justify its existence. Thanks-- and keep the cheese.

  • That is one KICK-ASS pickup! SIX freakin' GEARS! I WANT it, man! Coool, dude! I didn't know (or did but then had forgotten) that they had 6-gear pickups even over a decade ago!

  • @bassman26 :) yeah I agree, it gets old reading the same old arguments and shit talking sometimes. And it really cracks me up when people say "cummings" instead of "cummins" so I had to have some fun with that.

  • @ssimon64

When you talk Cummings, you're talkin' chocolates, man! :-)

  • @bassman26 Lol, well I take it you've figured out by now that I was just having a little fun with you. No hard feeling I hope. Seriously though, that looks like a pretty damn nice truck you got.

  • @ssimon64 Hahah I enjoyed that man! It is a nice change to hear someone joke about it instead of get super serious and hateful. We all like our trucks! What ticks me off about youtube from time to time is that the arguments are not constructive... but rather destructive and confrontational! Thanks for the comments and good laugh though bud! IT was a nice change up!

  • @bassman26 Hot damn son, I knew you'd come around!

  • @ssimon64 Me too. I am glad I did!!

  • @bassman26 No I'm pretty sure ford owns cummings and even owned dodge for a while. So your truck might actually even be a ford, just labeled as a dodge.

  • @ssimon64 Shit, you're right!

  • @bassman26 What do you mean you never heard of the cummings? Don't you own the truck in the video? Doesn't it have the cummings 5.9 motor? I'm confused.

  • @ssimon64 Cummings does not exist. It is spelled Cummins. Cummins diesel engines has never produced by Ford... I am curious to know where you read that one? Cummins diesel engines have been used in many different applications and vehicles since 1919. The 5.9L was produced specially for Dodge by Cummins. Go do your research, your argument isn't even coherent or concurrent.

  • @bassman26

    Cummings DOES exist! It's chocolates!

  • Ford actually made the cummings motor originally, then they sold the rights to dodge sometime back in the 90's

  • Sloooow! Cummings are such dogs! Get a fuckin powerstroke.

Stay away from those chevy pieces o shit too!

  • @ssimon64 I have never heard of a "Cummings." I did read that Powerstroke is the fastest.... To the mechanic. Buddy, you buy a diesel to do work. Not to race. And, if you are into racing/pulling, you will find that many more teams/drivers choose Cummins over Powerstroke because Cummins creates a better engine that can put out more power. Thanks.

  • things a fuckin turd

  • @03dmaxkolb You, my friend, are so right.

  • I'm totally new to pick up trucks so this will sound really retarded :| But what is the second lever for? Axle speeds? Diffs?

  • @hundanth four wheel drive

  • I bet you skip gears often ?

  • @wantapgt Totally man. It is not uncommon (going downhill) to go 2-4-6.

  • those open diffs or posis

  • @MattytheDem Open

  • sounds like the synchro on second gear may be on its way out

  • @MattytheDem This video was added two years ago. No work done to the gearbox or clutch yet (or ever... 180k). Towed a Pathfinder over mountain grades last week. Thanks for the concern.

  • @bassman26 good thing you have a manual. i wouldnt go near any ram with an auto..

  • @MattytheDem No kidding man, those things are junk!

  • HOW MANY MILEAGE YOU DO WITH THIS IN SMOOTH DRIVE??

  • @cowboyman197 17.5-22 depending

  • i thought this was a tc 2000 fe

  • you might wanna take your foot off the clutch after you shift...

  • @Countryboy2555 Hey Countryboy, ever heard of free play?

  • @bassman26 hey bassman, ever heard of riding the clutch?

  • @NIGHTRIDER995 No I haven't, what is that?

  • Do you have upgraded fuel injectors? Sounds like your running open air? nice truck man!! My dad had the same year truck with the same motor. He had Jeff Garmon out of griffin put 150 hp injectors in his with a raptor fuel pump. It had better fuel mileage after the swap. He had open K&N filter and a superchip on his. Cummins are my favorite brand of diesels. They last longest too.

  • @Metalhead0166 All stock! Turn down exhaust at the front of the bed

  • i wish my 2001 had a 6 speed... i have the crappy auto!

  • @breezyatv90 and the cummins that had autos were detuned so they wouldnt chew that P.O.S. Automatic to shreds 420 lbs with the auto, 460 with manual, and some had the HO which is 505 lbs of torque

  • @MattytheDem The 2001 6spds were HO.... As this one is!

  • @MattytheDem and for fords: 520 for the 7.3 powerstroke or 570 for the 6.0 (although that motor is as tempermental as it is powerful)

  • @MattytheDem gm 6.5 gutless P.O.S. duramax dogshit

  • i used to drive stick.,... then i took an arrow through the left knee :l

  • @g3ck0212 lol im hooked on the damn game

  • what an sexy interior......NOT!!!

  • @foxlyen That was appropriate. I did not know we got trucks for their "sexy" interiors. Thanks for reminding me that I do not care.

  • @bassman26 Used to have a 99 of the same truck. This makes me miss the "sexy" interior. Lol

  • @bassman26 well when im towing i do want a nice interior as well ..> but yours seems nice that dudes an ass

  • @foxlyen Lmao nice comment...NOT?

  • Haha the fag who said the cummins will never be as good a 6.0 liter powerJOKE hahaha fords never had a diesel! And thats the worst one you fuck up! Lol

  • ohhh its got such a deep tone that will make you wet your pants cant go wrong with a cummins

  • @200nick2 True

  • To bad the cummins will NEVER be as good as a 6.0 Powerstroke.

  • Your 6 speed shifts A LOT better than mine. I have to double 2nd - 3rd. Damn you!

  • I loved the shit out of 01 6 speed HO Cummins. I ended up with a 7.3 and fucking hate it!

  • wow dumbest video ever!!!!!! fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BIGRON863 WHA WHAT?!?! why are you watching it then!

btw love your truck bassman26. perfect truck

  • @BIGRON863 WELL THEN DON"T WATCH YOU FACK!

  • i personally prefer the body of Chevy over Dodge but i will say the cummins is a beast! i would drop the duramax out of my 2010 Chevy 2500 and throw the cummins in in a heartbeat if i could!

  • i love these trucks......but its a shame that i have to put more than 100 bucks of fuel each weeks.........

  • i think i got a boner

  • Comment removed

  • I had a Dodge 1991 Cummins Diesel, the only thing good on that truck was the engine, the rest was a pain in the rear.

  • Comment removed

  • I just laugh at all the idiots that argue over which diesel is better. Its not like that in my town, we all like eachothers trucks and respect eachother. Fucking keyboard warriors. Dodge, Chevy, Ford, they are all good trucks, its your money buy what you want. Its also funny when I have to pull diesels out with my Jeep.

  • @w3bbgh0st i do it EVERY WEEKEND!! :P

  • Have you had any transmission problems with that 6 speed manual? I've heard there good because they wont tear up like the autos in Dodges

  • @daveed793 so you don't pop the clutch and do a burnout

  • @bloodsimple159 or stall out in the middle of everything and look like an idiot (I've been there : / )

  • why is the interior on a 2001 better than a 2007.......... that is the question.

  • how do you like your 6 speed? Wanting to put one in a '95 12 valve. Tired of going through trannies.

  • What speed are you going in sixth gear? And how many RPM's do you turn at highway speeds?

  • let me guess 200k+ miles driving with you hand in the same damn place on the wheel

  • i want it!

  • learn to shift there hoss. keep ur foot of the clutch burn that fucker up. those things aint cheap

  • stop talking and floor it

  • is 320,000km alot for a 2001 cummins? im not sure, all i know is diesel trucks last longer

  • im not telling you how to drive but starting in 2nd burns up your clutch more.

  • HAHAHA BUDDY UR garBAGE at shiftinn lay off that clutch

  • man that sounds sooooo nice..is that the turbo i hear at 0:13

  • Don't ride that clutch. Even with your foot on it just a little you are making that throw out bearing spin, which with burn it up. To replace it you gotta take the whole clutch assembly apart. (pain in the ass).

  • @travisgreen81 True, it is a pain in the ass. This video will deceive you though. I had no pressure on the clutch; I was wearing my boots and left them lifted (and completely off of the clutch) so I could go through the gears faster for the video. I had a friend with a Saab that use to leave his foot on his pedal like you were saying--- after a long drive across the state, he was already encountering problems.

  • @bassman26 I always have that problem riding the clutch with my boots on. I have to remind myself to let off of it sometimes.

  • @travisgreen81 It doesn't look like his foot is really resting hard on the clutch. There is an inch of freeplay on the pedal for a reason.

  • @travisgreen81 you think its rough in a truck, try doing it in a tractor

  • I have had the 6.5 GM and 6.6 DMAX and selling my 7.3 in the morning. Looking for a Cummins. Nothing sounds better. 5 or 6 speed. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @4vermont Yeeehaww!

  • @4vermont 7.3 aint a bad motor. 6.0 is a piece of shit

  • The way it was explained to me was that an inline 6 diesel has 6 pistons above 7 mains, whereas a v8 diesel has 8 pistons above 5 mains. Makes for a stronger setup.

  • okay i dont under stand the point off the video not saying anything bad i just dont under stand

  • @sullivan106 If you've ever wondered what a run through the gears was like in an '01 5.9 Cummins, this is for you.

  • How well do the transmissions hold out,and what is the known life of the truck, as in mileage..Can you put a million miles on these, literally..?

  • @MrShannon888 These trucks are made for the long haul, that's why diesel trucks hold their value so much longer than gas trucks. If you know what you're doing, you could see 500,000+ miles before you're doing any work on the engine/trans... Especially with these manuals.

  • I used to be a duramax man but ive seen the error of my ways CUMMINS FOR LIIFE

  • @oaktree104941 Righteous man!

  • @bassman26

The 01 Cummins is not the true high output Cummins

03 was when they switched to the high output

  • @Rabiesthecat wrong in 01 and 02 the offerd a high optput enginge available olnly with the 6 speed tranny. it was rated at 505 ft pounds stock. in 2003 the common rail injection HO was realeased with numbers of 303/555

  • @sethclark100 yet wrong again. in 00, 01, 02, you were able to get a 5 or 6 speed high output. a 5 speed is very rare with the h.o. i know someone who owns one. we look up his vin and it told us it was h.o. and for people who don't know the difference, a standard cummins is 235hp and 460tq and h.o. cummins 260hp and 505tq not a big difference but noticable.

  • @Rabiesthecat I own a '01 2500 reg cab long bed HO w/ a 6-speed, special ordered it in 7-00 and delivered 9-00. It's 245hp and 505lbs. Once you order the 6-speed then it opens the option for the HO...in '01 it was only 6-speed, no 5 or auto. HO's use a different VP-44 pump and 17:1 instead of 16:1...

  • @oaktree104941 the truth is that theyre both good, cummins has better low end tq and dmax has more hp and its quiet. They both will last long if serviced.

  • @oaktree104941 i used to be a cummins man but i've seen the error of my ways DURAMAX FOR LIFE!!!..............................but cummins is a damn good motor just the trucks that they are in are complete junk.

  • i love the sound of a cummins 5 speed. i am looking into getting one of these trucks in black. ;)

  • Love hearing the cummins go threw the gears!

    great video

  • i am a ford man, but i KNOW cummins is diesel king. nice truck. Your pretty much driving my next truck...its gonna be a huge upgrade from a Ranger...lol.

  • mopar or no car!

  • I got the same truck man. thier great trucks. P.S - i like the old Cobra CB radio you got under the dash

  • @terex77 Right on man! Cummins power!

  • @terex77 ive got that same cb

  • what makes it an HO model

  • @cledus211 If you go on to Wikipedia and look up Cummins B series engines it will tell you why.

  • do the 6 speed cummins really go like 65mph????

  • @Dodge5410 Ha ha, yeah, no problem! It runs highway speeds fine!

  • @Dodge5410 Ya they will my 2002 cummins with the 6 spd will do 70 mph at 2000 rpm's. It is a bullet proof tranny just wish the truck was as good as the powertrain.

  • @bigbubba357m

That sucks my 2001 f-350 with a 6 spd will do 80 mph hauling 13K

  • @HUTCHtopher Ya and? So will mine.

  • @bigbubba357m well according to you and other dodge fanboys it sounds like at 70 mph you have little RPM to spare and at 80 your probabaly on your governor.

  • @HUTCHtopher well first of all redline isn't till 3500 rpm i've went over 120 mph in my truck. Another im not just a Cummins fan I also am a fan of the pre 2003 ford diesels. Lastly the reason we were talking about our trucks doing 70 at little rpm's is becasue of oh high the final gear ratio in these trucks are. If you would read the comments before you make your comment you would sound like such an idiot.

  • Hey buddy It was your Boyfriend that did'nt fuck you last night not me! Before jumping to conclusions and calling people idiots reread my comment and I think you'll will find that I'm talking about not having enough RPM in a 24 cummins HO not the otherway around.

  • @HUTCHtopher ok douch bag just because you take it up the poop shoot dont mean that everybody else does. I was responding to the comment that you left to me so I was not jumping to conclusions just making my point clear to you. And by the way keep your stupid ass gay comments to yourself. I'm married with 4 kids so there for I'm far from gay.

  • @bigbubba357m 4 kids does'nt mean shit when you're fucking your sister you dumbass I'm sure you find time to spend your vacations in Kommiefornia in the bath houses of Frisco. Probally have a picture of Gavin Newsome and Obama in you're bedroom!!!! you commie low life fuck I wish I'd find you on the street so I could kick you're fuckin ass

  • @HUTCHtopher listen here you internet thug if you live near Cleveland, Tx bring it on. People like you are so tough on the computer and talk alot of shit. I hope you live near me becasue i'd love to meet you face to face and see you back it up.

  • @bigbubba357m

Cleveland Texas? only steers and queers come from Texas and you sure don't sound like a steer cause you sure act like a big smelly vagina you fuckin homo

  • @HUTCHtopher Ha ha how original. You must be the one from California and the Obama lover. Thats alright I've got better things to do than to keep on with you. People like you get off to arguing with people on the internet I would rather do it face to face and see what kinda shit you talk then.

  • @bigbubba357 you're such a vagina just keep on crying

  • @HUTCHtopher I am what I eat!!!!!!!

  • @HUTCHtopher yeah and my 2000 F-450 with a 6 spd will do 85 mph hauling 36K

  • @XPOWERSTROKEXx

Now that I have a 11.3 ft Lance cabover camper I wish I had an F-450. Manual Trans Powerstrokes are the shit. Automatics are for little girls

  • Hot Damn son, all you need now is a 12 pack of Dr.Perky and some linky loins

  • Also the manual cummins will be my daily driven

  • Im seriously thinking about getting a 6 speed manual cummins.. i just gota question do manuals get old and boring driving? please REPLY BACK!??

  • i love my 6 speed, bet this guy does too

  • Shifting a little high? wheres your fuel psi gauge? Got a air dog or a fass? if not your killing your IP.. dont care what you have if its not one of those mentioned its not good enough !

  • Taker easy boss....Your gonna hurt somebody!!!!

  • id love to put a 6 speed in my first gen, how hard is it to do if i got the old 4 auto to manual even a 5 speed

  • @macman216

the 6 speed or 5 speed should just bolt up to the engine

i saw a 1stgen on ebay a few months ago with the 6 speed in it and the guy said it bolted up to the engine with very few problems

  • a lotta firefighters drive dodges for some reason. lol myself included

  • firefighter?

  • @fritzmanerik Ha ha, what makes you say that? And no, i am not a firefighter!

  • Hey i like your truck, I have the same exact truck, but the stick just seems weird to me, it almost seems like there is a gap between 4th and 5th like they are spaced un-equally. just wandering if yours is the same way or not because i bought mine used with 106k miles

  • @SuzukiBoy77 Yeah man, I know what you're saying. It's no defect.

  • Ok cool haha, I was just wondering ya know. Good to know im not just crazy

  • found a new statistic...90% of Ford trucks are still on the road today, only 10% made it home!

  • @SSMATT08 hahaha

  • @SSMATT08 hahahah you know why chevy is giving away dogs with every purchase?.............................. so the owner has some one to walk home with!!! hahahaha good joke man

  • @SSMATT08 Sorry but Ford is a Good Truck, My one ton will pull a house off its foundation if I wanted to. I bet it would give this one a good run for its money

  • great video man keep making more

  • If you really didn't care that much, then why did you go through the time to tell me?

    Thanks!

    -ed

  • or go through other peoples videos and say the same thing!!!

  • @xjustxgoxdiex Is that really necessary?

  • sounds like you lost your silencer ring :)

  • Damn looks like your driving a mother fuckin semi truck!!

  • She's fun to drive!

  • not really...theres a bit of a difference in shiftin 6 gears compared to 13 to 18 in a semi.....

  • Makin a nice left off Old Settlement onto 107..nice work DP

  • Dude that things tight.

  • thanks bud... i love diesels.

  • Yeah what really adds to it is all the gadgets and such you got in there.

Like that CB thing, and all the black interior.

  • Hi, now I don't own a dodge and was just wondering if the 12V were still in the trucks in 2001. Just curious. Nice interior by the way.

  • They stopped putting 12 valves in doges in 98. The 98.5 model was when 24 valves started to be put in the dodge.

  • My dad has a 98.5 3500 5 spd 4x4 and it has the 12V Cummins Turbo Deisel.

  • It's not a 98.5 if it has the 12V..its just a 98.

  • Ya thats all there is to it, 98 12 valves, 98.5 24 valves.
