The solution is ridiculously simple: If you don't want to be scanned, then don't fly. Simple as that. As a frequent flier, I like knowing that scanners make it virtually impossible for a passenger to smuggle a weapon on board. I am reasonably certain that screeners won't be seeing anything they've never seen before while screening passengers. If you that self conscious, just get over it. The safety of all passengers trumps your personal prudishness about your own body.
@DarkRendition there is a huge difference between scanning luggage and having your entire body shown on a lifesize screen, it's not a regular X-ray. You can't compare this to being at the doctor where you give your consent or have the right to say no. If you refuse at the airport they will give you the very invasive pat down. And you are NOT free to leave the airport either, they will grab you and detain you, rip up your ticket and hold all your belongings. One guy tried and was fined $10,000.

Isn't it ironic that people outraged by the technology that may save their life in a hospital's emergency room is principally the same scaled down, low intensity technology that might save their life on an aircraft? From a civil or intellectual standpoint, how is this technology ANY different or less invasive than luggage X-ray, barring any trivial safety concern since these machines are infinitely less intensive.
Not sure about you but I'd rather be on the aircraft who's passenger's were subjected to a harmless amount of X-Rays, than the aircraft who's passenger's are sitting next to an insane religious zealot packing explosives between there butt cheeks... (take note that they cannot penetrate beyond the depth of skin, it would take 10s of thousands of exposures to amount to anything even trivially dangerous, furthermore I see nothing intrusive about a blurry body outline...)

You all say you want freedom and less goverment control. But I doubt that's really true. So let's look at how we can protect ourselves without the governments help. The Constitution says I have the right to bear arms. Is it ok with you if I excercise that right. When that was written, I could bear arms WHEREVER I wanted. So if we go back to that, I'll be carrying it on a plane, on a train, to school, to the movie theatre. If you're fine with that, then I'm fine having no airport security.

The solution is ridiculously simple: If you don't want to be scanned, then don't fly. Simple as that. As a frequent flier, I like knowing that scanners make it virtually impossible for a passenger to smuggle a weapon on board. I am reasonably certain that screeners won't be seeing anything they've never seen before while screening passengers. If you that self conscious, just get over it. The safety of all passengers trumps your personal prudishness about your own body.

@DarkRendition there is a huge difference between scanning luggage and having your entire body shown on a lifesize screen, it's not a regular X-ray. You can't compare this to being at the doctor where you give your consent or have the right to say no. If you refuse at the airport they will give you the very invasive pat down. And you are NOT free to leave the airport either, they will grab you and detain you, rip up your ticket and hold all your belongings. One guy tried and was fined $10,000.

@MadamMyrena I was actually hesitant to write it, but remembered that they are already reporting bomb breast implants, and obviously the anal cavity has been a historic 'hiding place', and since this 'wonderful' microwave scan doesn't see inside..... I know the next step is already planned. It's just a matter of us getting used to this one, then they slide the next level. We need to loudly oppose this crap now, or its literally BEND OVER TIME!

STFU - how often do any of you idiots fly? - my guess is almost never. Some people can't do their jobs unless they fly 4-7 times per week every week. That is why these scanners now exist... wealthy people don't want to die or worry about dieing while they are using the airline service. Remember people, as of right now, you can OPT out of this imaging. Always OPT out and make them pat you down. Believe me if everybody opted out, TSA would be begging to get rid of the scanners! Make it inconvenient for them! If they ask you why, tell them you think the machine compromises your civil liberties! You are not obligated to give a reason for opting out!
