Hi, I just read that cold weather actually helps develop the sugars in citrus. Thats why the citrus from california can be sweeter than florida citrus. It can also be left on the tree for weeks before picking. That peeled so easily it must have been a satsuma orange.
$40.00 for a pot, $25.00 for the tree, $10.00 worth of compost, $5.00 worth of fertilizer and pesticide and what have I got to show for it after 2 years ... one fucking orange.
@bustermk2 - but a lifetime of knowledge. you didn't get ripped off at all. it is called patience...something this world could use more of. i would call it a deal.
Seems like a very fruitful reward to me.
