I live in Morocco and as a guitar player, as soon as I heard that this concert was going to happen, I went all the way to Chicago just for this! Truly worth the ride! I had the chance to be on the third row! Without the shadow of a doubt, one of the best days of my life! Really a dream come true.... :')
If some guy started jumpin up an down in front of me i'd be a little shocked also. I think the black w/dots is probably his favorite. Anyway his guitar tech probably makes a lot of cache handlin his guitars
Ronnie's the best. The song their playing wouldn't be a classic if not for Mick, Kieth, Charles AND RONNIE. Look at how he offers his guitar to Buddy after his string breaks. He should have took it out of respect. I don't know how to feel about him rejecting the gesture. Maybe it was innocent... Any ways, good jam. All great guitarists in their own rights.
Kirk Lorange should be on this lineup, his accoustic and electric slide is uncompromising...and hes also on youtube...do yourself a favour and find it too...this is just my fan comment, not another addme pile promotion, really.
I was here for this. I have to say, one of the best experiences of my life. My friend and I got lucky and were allowed into the inner circle, so we were no more than 15 yards from the stage. Wouldn't you know, I left my camera at home, though? :(
When Buddy Guy breaks his string.. that's just hilarious.
me and my friend went to this show thinking that we were just going to sit in the parking lot and listen and as we were walking past the gate where the were checking tickets the lady working the gate said "you guys need two extra tickets?" and we both said "we wish. no money." the lady responded with "oh just take these. i have no need for them." so we walked in right as this was happening and ill never forget it ever. best concert of my life and it was free.
Notice that Ron Wood plays lead very differently than most people. Instead of bending strings with his ring finger, he does it with his index finger... !
It's too bad this is a Tax-Dodge for E.C.They claim to be raising money for the antuiga re-hab clinic!?, go to the web-site,$ 20,000 to get help?. My brother and nephew and I flew to Chicago to see this concert. WOW!!! I will never forget this experience. Planning on going to next one. Also, we went to Buddy Guy Legends and Buddy showed up and we had the opportunity to meet him. Very classy gentleman. From California with love.
the thing about these guys, most career musicians look at playing more as a job than anything else. But you can tell these guys truly love playing music. Best concert I have ever been to.The only thing I don't get, no Layla? No Tears in Heaven?
absolutely one of the top few songs of the day. Ron Wood- while not a fantastic player, definitely gives character to the stage. It was great seeing him.
@texasranga I disagree with part of your comment; Ron Wood IS A FANTASTIC PLAYER, and agree with the other part of your comment; he does give character to the stage, AND it was GREAT to see him........AND one of the top songs!
@towjambo he "was" a special player in the begening of the 70's, that was another time, he's just an old charismatic rocker now, that's all, but it's cool to see him enjoying playing with the best guitarists of the world, he seems to be not so drunk !! lol but is it a place for him in crossroad guitare festival ? hum !!
definitely one of the highlights of the show. Great video. I have to ask, what is the trick to getting such good audio? I shot video using a sony camera (dslr) which also shoots 780p video but the audio it captured sucks!
@mnaac ---- record from a place wher the sound is very clean and clear. adjust sound levels just below redline (distortion). if you have no recording level adjustment tools on your camera you're at the mercy of the levels of what's being put out....there are video/audio editing tools that can fix things up quite nicely......up close good video, but the sound can be very loud......just keep trying...the sound wasn't too loud on this song.......I got lucky on this one!!!
I think I saw you recording this! I was about ten feet behind you. You kept blocking my view when you were recording. I was mildly annoyed at the concert, but now I thank you so much for getting such awesome video!
