  • ive been practicing for a while and still cant go at those speeds :(

    what am i doing wrong!

  • You can also mess with this paradiddle diddle

    RLRRLL-RLRRLL-RLRR-LRLLRR-LRLLRR

This you can count as 16th notes and it also allows you to practice your left leads as well

  • i like doing these while accenting the left hand diddle and not the right hand single.

  • 6 Stroke Rolls are RRLLRL-LLRRLR

  • wait are you even hitting it dude?? lol

  • I hate you.

  • Everyone bitching about this video!!!! Hey if you dont like it learn how to read "music that is" and shut the fuck up and learn it yourself the way this guy probably did!

  • Everyone bitching about this video!!!! Hey if you dont like it leard how to read "music that is" and shut the fuck up and learn it yourself the way this guy probably did!

  • dude u suck. ive seen all these drum roudiments, u go sooooo slow. i mean really work on speed

  • @notsuchaclevername11 Dick! Its an instructional video!

  • @6CHRIS6ROWE6 just because its instructional does not mean he cant eventually go faster.

  • @6CHRIS6ROWE6 Right and just because he can go faster dose't mean he has to go full speed. If you are looking at this video chances are you don't have to worry about speed until you have the proper sticking and accents down... Slow down things sound better and clearer at a solid tempo rather then 200bpm.... This guy could fucking slay you with hand technique!!! And by the dc-10's he is using chances are he studied with Rob Carson. Your lucky to even see avideo like this, learn it on staff paper

  • @notsuchaclevername11 I agree, it's clearly of the utmost importance that every drummer be able to play every rudiment at the MINIMUM 250bpm in 16th notes

    Idiot.

  • dude! i-n-s-t-r-u-c-t-i-o-n-a-l you're speeding up too fast... start slow.... keep it slow... then gradually.... pick... up pace.... for instructional purposes...

I know u wanna show us what it looks like and sounds like at full speed (and maybe to show off a little) but a majority of these short videos spend 75% at full speed.... think I need not say more....

  • Gostei do vídeo , muito bom . Veja meus vídeos (BANDA TRAMPO), comente obrigado!

  • @TheJoe101 I think the point of speeding up is to demonstrate what it sounds like at a higher rate of speed. Given the speed at which the performer goes up to, I'd say he's already put in quite a bit of practice with a metronome.

  • @TheJoe101 he did that on purpose genius!

  • @TheJoe101 LOL. I only just started snaring... But your sense of musician ship is horrible. THUMBS UP WHO AGREES

  • @iPvPawnage yeah thumbs up thats what your supposed to do. you dont need a metronome.. your supposed to go slow to fast to slow.

  • @iPvPawnage Nobody agrees. That's because that guy is pro.

  • @TheJoe101 Um... you have to go slow to fast to slow for auditions.

  • is this all wrist or just controlling the rolls??? like when it gets fast i mean!?

  • nice vid!!!

I bought a drum rudiment poster and dvd at

    DrumRudimentPoster.comx-minus the x :) it rocks!!!

  • so u always start back with ur first hand?

  • does the websight have any 5-let drum rudiment examples? like the busdriver and flopadiddles?

  • are you kidding me? neither of those rudiments are real. people put those on drumfunny because they're jokes.

  • if they're jokes then how come they're playable? if it isn't real then it couldn't be played. its called Innovation, or being creative.

  • haha i'm not denying that they're playable. it's just that those rudiments were created for a site called drumFUNNY. as in, the people who submitted them put them on there because they sound goofy. they aren't meant to be incorporated into licks or anything. i'm not denying that you COULD if you wanted to, it's just that they were created as jokes and probably shouldn't be treated as anything more

  • i incorporate them into alot of the cadences i write, it a poly-rhythmic fashion though, i mean its fun and challenging.

  • with accents

  • Ahhhhhh ok

  • he is playing matched grip

  • you dick... he chose a grip that works well for him thats all

  • i was just asking... YOU DICK!!

  • the left hand needs work. the tap height isnt as controlled as the right

  • That's because all the accents are on the right hand...

  • that doesnt make sense. right now the notes being played are accent tap tap tap mid-level accent mid-level accent. RlrrLL. the diddle on the left is accented slightly that is not because of the paradiddle-diddle accent pattern that is because of the natural tendency to crescendo up to the accent. all the taps should be the same though. 1.5 or 3 or 6 inches. i dont care which just stick with the same height.

  • wow douche

  • he's right though haha

  • best rudiment of all time

  • This is my favorite rudiment.

They're fun to play as triplets, in a way similar to the 12/8 part in SCV's Double Beat.

  • So they CAN be played as triplets. I've always wondered. R-l-r r-L-r l-l-R l-r-r... actually, probably w/o the accents.

  • Single paradiddle-diddles are different from the oher diddle Rudiments. They're so fun though.

  • Cna someone tell me what practice pad he is using and where i can find one.

and if you dont know what and where.

    one similiar and what website.

    cheers

  • At any music store that has drumsticks, you'll usually find a practice pad.

  • yea, but I suggest getting an Invader pad from Offworld percussion, its the best pad i've ever played on

  • Yeah haha that was a decently old post. Aside from an Offworld percussion snare pad, I got a Dynasty tenor pad. Skokbok's.

  • hijo de puta!!!!

  • you should practice leading with both hands...but in reality when u are actually playing ur gonna do wat works best 4 you as a drummer. so yea thats jus my 2 cents. these videos are great 4 teaching people the basix rudiment stickings..so take it 4 what it is!!

  • Do whats best for YOU. Although using both hands will obviously strengthen both sides of your brain... the ultimate result should be your OWN unique playing style vs. sounding like everyone else... however I do agree you should lead with your weaker hand side to strengthen it. It is up to you to choose whats best for YOU not worry about what someone does. All drummers are unique even if the teaching and practice is the same.

  • what's the difference between the paradiddle-diddle and the 6 stroke roll?

  • 6 Stroke Roll is : RLLRRL-LRRLLR

    Paradiddle-Diddle is: RLRRLL-RLRRLL

  • @DerTrommler01 correct but it wont sound different from a double stroke roll if you dont put the accents in

  • Comment removed

  • @DerTrommler01 But it wont sound the same.

    6 Stroke Roll is counted: 1 and ah 2 e and 3 and ah 4 e and "16notes"

Paradiddle-Diddle is counted: 1 trip let 2 trip let 3 trip let 4 trip let "8notes triplets"

    ^__^

  • i hate these and it helps to be ambidextrous in percussion so i feel comfortable with both hands when playing

  • yeah.

this person obviously is stronger and more comfortable with the right hand, although he should be using the left more so that he can become more comfortable. All good drummers, even Scot Johnson, have a weak hand, but if you learn to strenghthen it, you become less weak, thereby becoming a better drummer little by little. And we all want that. =]

  • Canadiandrummer14 is correct. Rudiments are suppose to be played from hand to hand.(left to right vice versa) that's how you become coordinated in both hands. You should also lead with your weaker hand to strenghten this hand. The final result should reflect symmetry and balance in both hands.

  • no there not alternating but its best to learn playing left and right hand lead. way to tick this by the way

  • they are supposed to be played alternating

    RLRR-LL LRLL-RR

  • No they aren't, when you're doing a right hand lead paradiddle-diddle you keep the right hand lead, but then you switch to build up strength on both sides.

  • yea that akward after doin parradiddles

  • Im kind of confused, because im used to go right to left hand..
