I don't claim to understand this album. I've been putting it on when I paint. I put it on the repeat and I just love it. Riding for the feeling is just an amazing song (to me). It drifts and plods and then comes into focus with a surge. I feel like I get it.

This is the kind of songwriter who gives great care to his craft and this is the kind of album that takes great care to appreciate. The initial struggle can result in a strong connection, what good does it do you not to challenge you? Meet him half way and the boon will be plentiful.

I find it really easy to relate to the new Bill Callahan CD. And I'd give it a 9-10. I don't think that people are writing this sort of stuff everywhere with this amount of skill. But I think it does require a few listens and a look at the lyric sheet to fully apreciate it.

This is my first Bill Callahan album, and his songwriting and style reminds me of something out of a Carson McCullers novel with a hint of Nick Cave, in my opinion. I'm thouroughly enjoying this simple album, great album choice Anthony, and congratulations on 25k!

Bob Dylan is always good, wish he was still making decent albums like Neil Young. Wow, I didn't know this was the same guy from Smog. Nice tidbit of information. Most of the time when you review an album and its under a 7 I skip it. I'll probably skip this album, but might listen to a single if I come across one. There is just so much good music coming out now compared to a few years ago. I hope the trend continues and that artists keep getting better.
