rkwatson: The cat on your video looks like a little Wilber the Cat on You Tube. I enjoy your videos. Your delivery is excellent and you are very pretty. I especially like your intellect.
I was a fan of "The Listener." Guess I'm an insane person. LOL
The pilot episode doesn't give much information on it, but the main character has past issues with his mother, as he seems to have been given up by her when he was 10 years old or so. I watched the entire first season where he was close to meeting his mother, and the series was then canceled on the local TV channel.
oh, she's lovely! I have a ginger too (minus the white bits), I would love to hear about the other comics you like. I highly recommend Battle Pope, just because its very funny. And bound to piss off other Christians.
About the mind reading thing, people do have internal dialogue. So I guess what it would be like would depend on how deep the mind scan was. Like is it just surface thoughts or can they here deeper more primitive parts of your subconscious also. I have not seen the show, so I can't comment on whether or not the show is silly but I don't have a problem with the hole "internal dialogue" thing.
I watched your video this morning. I was in town this afternoon after work and went into Blackwells book shop on Charing Cross Road and found 'supersense' on the 3 for 2 shelf. (3 books for the price of 2).
I notice there is a little cat drawing on the bottom of the pages of this book and as you flick the pages it animates the cat walking along the bottom of the page.
So there have it. Supersense is available on offer in Blackwells.
I've struggled with suspending my disbelief when experiencing supernatural fiction since I embraced skepticism. I used to love Medium, mostly because of the charming family aspects. Shows like The Listener make it easy to dislike, just because of its all around badness. Of couse I still love cartoony supernatural stuff like True Blood, and Buffy. Be sure to check out the Buffy Season 8 comic book series. It's really great!
Isn't it kind of odd how stories almost never have someone who can SEE thoughts, it's always hearing them? I thought about that during the Buffy episode, it would have been neat if she'd met a couple of people who were "dead zones" to her because they thought in pictures instead of words. Or if someone had a song stuck in their head or something.
Of course, I guess that's just because adding a voiceover is easier, but whatever.
Actually I think: "If only he could read my thoughts." when passing a hot guy, because I'm afraid of asking guys out. (I'm gay and both times I asked someone out have been horrific.)
@bradwatson7324 That makes me think of how people often say "So there IS a GOD!" but would be horrified if someone said the opposite when something tragic happens.
Torchwood did a good mind reading episode. Well, actually, it was a pretty fair episode, but it was good how they handled the mind-reading aspect of it.
I have had not TV for over a decade myself. It is not so unusual because as you say most of the things on TV are not so interesting and IMHO not worth a subscription fee. When I do want to watch something I can rent it or watch it via the internet. Even if I bought all the shows I liked on DVD it would be cheaper than a subscription. You might be surprised how many do not have a TV these days. For people who find the programming worth the subscription nothing wrong with that, please enjoy.
With me the problem wouldn't be that Charles Manson wore this item of clothing it would be that anyone wore it. I mean is it clean? Perhaps if he just wore it once so it was stil clean lol.
Yes Buffy got the aspect of the demon when she was fighting one and got cut in her hand and the demon blood mixed with hers. At first she thinks its cool then it just drives her mad.
I first read about the Manson's shirt study in Wiseman's book, Quirkology. Not until you mentioned it did I think: Wait. Isn't the real problem that we worry how other people judge us? So in reality we might not have a problem wearing the sweater until a friend found out. Then their perception of us would change radically: "Why is Rebecca wearing Manson's sweater? Is she into the guy? Does she think murderously psychotic people are funny or cool or hip? I don't think we can be friends anymore."
When I am not tired I watch something I have to actively think about or I read.
Also if I only watched something on TV that made sense or was real I doubt I'd watch anything. The vast majority of TV shows are incredibly stupid. Including The Listener.
I mean, your brain needs some rest while in action. Just something light. Brain salad. Just a light lunch for me, thanks. The Listener is like a marshmallow, though. A burnt marshmallow.
Then again, I'm sure if I found the lead actor to be cuter I'd let it play in the background while working.

Porkchop? What, no shell fish?
One whole omnipotent being into just one porkchop? Maybe a porkchop and a shrimp cocktail as a side...but just a porkchop?
;)
Cute kitty, btw!

1. Cats are evil.
2. People are illogical, its quite amazing we didn't wipe ourselves out long ago.
3. I'd wear one of Charles Manson's sweaters if it fit me but it wouldn't.
4. :A Penny For Your Thoughts' from the Twilight Zone is the best tv treatment of telepathy ever.
5. I really liked the topless look in the previous video. Please do it again.

Also, good call on the new Bill Callahan record. One of my favorites of the year so far.
