so, im trying to figure out how to get my bmw e39 e brake to work. could you tell me your brake pad setup? are the green stuff pads in the rear? also how much are they?
well with my stock sc300 5 speed i get about 18-20mpg, with the sc300 5 speed in this video i get about 12-14mpg, my little brother gets about 16-18mpg with his 1jz 5 speed swapped sc300 with 300hp. I drive my stock SC mellow, the sc in this video only gets driven when im drifting or canyon driving.
MTNWRX.. your wrong the gte block is not the same as the ge. remember one is turbo and one is not so higher compression on one and lower on the other. also the oil squirtters are different on both blocks. the pistons and rod are different too but you cud drop the turbo head on the ge block no problems dont expect to run high boost and you need the boostlogic head gasket its a special one that they have dude with all the swaps we have done everything is not the same like ppl think any Q lmk..
@2jzfrank agreed, tell em. im doing a conversion right now to a gte. you gotta love ppl who dont know what they are talkin about. ricers..go drive your civics off a cliff and leave the real power to the big boys
@2jzfrank i know this, about the internal differences at least but we just blew a t67 up on the scblock and now we have a huge garrett but we run 5 pounds of boost at idle. how can i fix this?
@2jzfrank thats why i included the obvious stuff. the gte block has the oils squirters. i also stated that the internals are forged on the gte block. plus naturally a factory turbo motor isgoing to have lower compression ratio than a na motor. thats a given
fuck yeah i love that road i still done think i can hang in the prelude, did you know trevor pulled on my and harry in the Denali? pulled on harry's 5.0 and my prelude in the courner's that thing is a beast
fail for 20 mph drifting on public roads. Why would you rebuild a N/A 2j unless you plan on turboing it? Even with all the modifications that you have done to the car your still scrubbing off speed like crazy with shitty angles. If you wanna learn how to drift your car properly then go to a Evergreen or BMP drift day.
nice vid i have a toyota soarer the Australia type its a 1jz twin turbo box is a r154 manual its fun keeping it side ways its rilly easy evan when its a open diff keep it up
I am in Australia, and have a JDM '91 Toyota Soarer with the 1JZ-GTE, and I can vouch these are a handful to drift, even with swaybars and coilovers! I plan to drop in a 2JZ-GTE and a Getrag 6-speed from my mates written off '97 Supra. Keep at it man love the work :)
Oh ya i did forge that they came with ge motors but if you wanna make loads of horsepower make it an na-t and if you swap in a 2jz you can pass emissions
na-t?? whats that?? (sorry if i ask too many question im new to cars)so if i get an sc300 and swap it to 2jz ge i can still pass smog? thats cool so its like driving a supra but cheaper x]
Way cheaper dude... SC300 can be bought as a non running bucket for a 1000, strip the crap interior, pull the engine and swap in a $1000 1JZ-GTE, weld the diff, and your drifting for less than $4000 in an awesome platform.
stop giving out retarded information, the sc300 came with a 2jz-ge, NON-TURBO mk4 supra motor, sc400 has a 1uz-fe. Soarers came with 1jz-gte and 1uz-fe.
the ge and the gte motors share the same block and thats it. the heads are different. along with the other obvious stuff such as internals. you couldnt throw a turbo ecu on a ge motor and expect it to run smoothly. stock boost is 12 psi try running that on the ge with out an actual tune.
@mtnwrx Same block essentially but for extra oil squirters in the GTE blocks. Lots of guys here in Aus do a 1.5JZ conversion using a 2JZ-GE block and their existing 1JZ-GTE head, but often drill extra recesses for oil squirters
@mtnwrx im pretty sure the internals are the same.... its just like you said, the head, but only because its not fitted with a turbo manifold, and probably has a "lexus" head... a tune is needed with any car with a turbo. but i would imagine as long as the injectors are the same as a turbo version, you could use the turbo 2jz ecu.
@wingxxzero the block gte block has oil squirters the ge doesnt. the heads have a different bolt design from gte to ge. kid bought my twins from my gte motor and expected them to bolt up... i told him to get a different exhaust manifold. i also know that my gte motor is map sensor vs maf. i cant remember what my ge motor was before i swapped mine out. the injectors are different. your looking at 550 on the gte and a lot less on the ge
Yes, really the easiest way to do it without a real shop is to get one and just drop in a ebay turbo kit with your own manifolds, than swap out the turbo itself later some 550cc injectors and your set after a nice tune.. honestly you don't even need all that, you can drift it stock just get wide 15 or 16 in rims for it and strech skinnier tires to a higher psi and you will have a nice Stock drift setup!!
In the US they come with a 2JZ-GE all other coutries its marketed as a Soarer by Toyota with a 1JZ-GTTE which is a great engine swap for this car and it adds an instant 60+ hp stock for stock.
But oh so worth the $! 3500lb car going through corners with luxury/tiny sway bars on it=massive body roll. If you drive hard in corners SWAY BARS ARE THE BEST for improved feel.
his subscribers info says its got a fresh 2JZ swap with 2k miles on it. The SC's have the same engine as the SUPRAS but dont come boosted stock. Its either a 2JZ-GTE from a supra turbo or he went NA-T
true but if you find a good sponsor or find a buddy with a good sponsor you can make those troubles go away.. for me, any size Falken Ziex ZE-912 tires for $200 free shipping to my doorstep!
Cool. I did something like that, but it was an accident and I lost control. Yay for no traction control.
I have the automatic four speed and automatics are... boring to say the least. Do you have any idea how much it would cost for the automatic to manual swap?
Just sold a full 5-speed swap for $1400, included the gauge cluster, center console, complete 2JZ engine, w58 tranny, all mounts & lines, pedal, master/slave, clutch, flywheel etc... The SC now has a 1JZ-GTTE!
Hey good stuff man. I live in WA too.. In Port Angeles.. I have an 84 Celica GT-S that I picked up for $350. My buddy Kevin welded the diff and it was a blast. The slow turning hopping didn't bug me at all. He did a crappy job too, and it broke loose, but somehow the diff is ok.. Keep havin fun.
hey thanks for the reply, i appreciate it. What are some of the roads you know of over here that you like? Im from spokane and only know of a couple. It'd be great to know some more.
Well I did break the first welded differential I had because I had a moron weld it. Once it blew and I pulled it apart I was like wow the weld is so small its no wonder it broke, so I had it SERIOUSLY welded and its stronger and smoother than ever, I dont think anything will be breaking lol. Ive put about 5k miles on it. I live in Washington so most the time the roads are wet creating less friction though. Just make sure its welded nice & sturdy and you should have no issues.
shit dude I live in Miami its usually hot and sunny here, ive read up that people have done it to 240's and had bearings and shit go bad from all the stress on the axles and the gears shearing , just how loud is the car in traffic from the diff? i really wanna do this lol im fiting a T5 tranny from a stang on the 1UZ making it a 5 speed
no problems with bearings or axles (knock on wood). The only time the diff actually makes noise is low speed turns like in a parking lot, other than that you cant hear it going 10+mph. 5-speed swap is awesome on the 1uz-fe! have you seen the price of those engines? They are like $400 its crazy, such an awesome engine for so cheap. I say weld it... if you want more acceleration get a differential out of an SC300 5-speed, ur car will pull way harder from the final drive change
I have 2 grand to drop on a new car and I wanna get one of the lexus sc....I really wanted to get the sc 400 but there is no manual tranny wtf?...so I think I am gonna have to go with the 300 but it will prob get better mpg...anyways I have to get one cheap prob between the years of 92 till 98....any suggestions
actually not too long ago on craigslist i saw one for 2100 but it had over 200k on it... but if you really want one cheap find someone with a dealers license and go to miami, la, or like mid ohio and you will find what your lookin for cheap as hell!!
man... its funny about what people are saying.. yes some sc's came stick.. 5 speed. plus it is a supra swap. so im just thinking they would have atleast swapped to stick if it were auto. the jdm 2jzgte i6 is pulling out 330hp stock.. you really call that weak. im very experienced with that motor, and know that its really easy to pull out some sick numbers with a little bit of money
did you seriously do that on public roads? not the smartest thing Ive seen but at least you are skilled at drifing. Id hate to see some inexperienced person do this and end up killing someone.
yea i checked the price freakin cheap if I have to move back to the usa either this car and do a 1jz swap or a 240sx the price is retarded!!!!!!!!Check rx-7 prices they went down tooo and STI vs evo evo is still expensive but sti went down in price
The Lexus SC300 is a very capable car, infact it has the same chasis as a MKIV Supra and its a 2JZ not the turbo one but still pumps out 220 hp and 210 tourque, and you will never find a manual SC for less than 4000
Pretty much all of the SC's are automatics, the manuals were made in very very limited production... and I dont think they made any SC's automatics after 96.
they made manual sc's from 92-97 all 98+ sc's are automatics, the majority of sc's are automatics but they did make manauls till 97, 1992 had the most manuals.
Hey man i was just curious, it looks like 2 black stripes at one point in the vid, when under power, are you sure that the stock diff is open? cause i have drifted open diff before i got my kaaz 2 way and it didn't behave like yours. that looks like viscous maybe. just curious. ps nice vid, big balls, and don't listen to the haters
yeah its an open diff. I just replaced it with another open diff. lol. The old one should be welded and in as soon as I buy another clutch. It behaves horribly, trust me, i just grew up lacin into those corners.

actually not too long ago on craigslist i saw one for 2100 but it had over 200k on it... but if you really want one cheap find someone with a dealers license and go to miami, la, or like mid ohio and you will find what your lookin for cheap as hell!!

man... its funny about what people are saying.. yes some sc's came stick.. 5 speed. plus it is a supra swap. so im just thinking they would have atleast swapped to stick if it were auto. the jdm 2jzgte i6 is pulling out 330hp stock.. you really call that weak. im very experienced with that motor, and know that its really easy to pull out some sick numbers with a little bit of money

Not a V6 you idiot. It is an in-line 6 - you know like BMW.
v8cat 3 years ago 3
did you seriously do that on public roads? not the smartest thing Ive seen but at least you are skilled at drifing. Id hate to see some inexperienced person do this and end up killing someone.

you know nothing. blue book is more, and its the same engine as the supra. also they have the v8 sc400. you know nothing about power you fwd fanboy.
TubeYouLerDude 3 years ago
The Lexus SC300 is a very capable car, infact it has the same chasis as a MKIV Supra and its a 2JZ not the turbo one but still pumps out 220 hp and 210 tourque, and you will never find a manual SC for less than 4000

i think it is enough for drifting.

I watch this video at least twice a week. I really want a sc300 bad but my parents say it has to be an automatic any ideas?
9701165 4 years ago
buy a manual one anyways lol, or tell them itll make you a better driver, or tell them ull get better gas milage lol, think of some thing dude
carlosr428 4 years ago
they made some automatics in like 97 or somethin like that
mhsRocker 4 years ago
Pretty much all of the SC's are automatics, the manuals were made in very very limited production... and I dont think they made any SC's automatics after 96.
SC300DRIFTER 4 years ago
they made manual sc's from 92-97 all 98+ sc's are automatics, the majority of sc's are automatics but they did make manauls till 97, 1992 had the most manuals.
also the comment about the V6, it's a inline 6
erikbalanza 4 years ago
yeah, they made no manual sc400's. if they did they would be insane.
TubeYouLerDude 3 years ago
Haha, I agree w/ carlosr428:
Get a job.
Save your own money.
Buy your own damn car.
Respect the parents - God's got lightening bolts. But limits are meant to be pushed...
juse1101 4 years ago
get the auto anyways because its super hard to find a decent manual. you can still drift in the 1,2, and 3 gears.
TubeYouLerDude 3 years ago
Hey man i was just curious, it looks like 2 black stripes at one point in the vid, when under power, are you sure that the stock diff is open? cause i have drifted open diff before i got my kaaz 2 way and it didn't behave like yours. that looks like viscous maybe. just curious. ps nice vid, big balls, and don't listen to the haters
harrisake 4 years ago
yeah its an open diff. I just replaced it with another open diff. lol. The old one should be welded and in as soon as I buy another clutch. It behaves horribly, trust me, i just grew up lacin into those corners.
