  • You should've flew through it!

  • OMG!!!...i can see my house

  • i didnt know camrys can fly...

  • I'm not sure this is a tornado. It is hanging down from some pretty wimpy looking clouds. It might just be a low hanging cloud that happens to be in a tornado shape.

  • @Wampaa it looks like a landspout. Like a waterspout but on land, it can form from relatively weak showers.

  • Umm... You need to land, because you have zero oil pressure.

  • Its not a tornado unless it touches the ground. This video shows a funnel cloud.

  • @Scarfacetfs Just because the condensation doesn't reach the ground doesn't mean it is not a tornado. There could be circulating winds at the ground, but you wouldn't be able to see them from afar because no condensation outlines the rotation

  • It starts out really light and slowly gets darker like the way minecraft does

  • was this supa scary to b dat close

  • oooh..how far away from it were you :O

  • this looks Like CGI

  • thats more like a water spout. And some people asked if you fly though them do they dissipate. As far as I can tell no, we've flown though them in a falcon 20 for the hell of it and it didn't really seem to bother them. No more than a little 'bump' of turbulence in the cockpit either.

  • I wonder if it would be possible to dissipate a smaller tornado like that one, by repeatedly flying through it? People are always looking for ways to stop tornados, why haven't they thought of that? Or even attempted for that?

  • Should've flown through it! Now THAT would've been a COOL VIDYO, YO!?

  • Great filming, and such great luck too!

  • clouds are pissing on us

  • 1 person was in the plane

  • i thought a tornado actually touched the ground .. not hover

  • screams

  • That's not a tornado. Just an unusual cloud formation, probably caused by downdraft.

  • to kutas chmury a nie tornado.

  • dude we had a tornado in melb? did it hit the ground?

  • oh shit that must be scary!!

  • Are you sure it wasn't a landspout? Considering that there didn't seem to be any powerful thuderstorm around it. Spouts don't need a powerful thunderstorm to form.

  • Why are you in a helicoper by a tornado?

  • haha id be shittin my pantss xD

  • WOW THAT WUZ A REALLY BIG TORNADO THAT LITTLE PEICE OF CLOUD COULD HAVE BLOW DOWN THE EARTH!!!! big deal its only just a cloud hanging down. y didnt u touch it?

  • that would be crazy if u guys get in it and end up on the ground

  • so fast .. scary:(

  • beautiful

  • Holy crap!

They filmed it from a Camry!

    Was it a stuck throttle?!

  • Hit an embankment and saw this out the window.

  • @nrcsst did u fly into it? actually can u fly in it without dying?

  • @Xxbabygurl56xX no. you cant.

  • @Dummerd Nuts! You beat me to it.

  • StormChaserNIck is correct. That is a cold air funnel and not a tornado. They can touch down on rare occasions and become weak tornadoes. However, "tornado" implies interaction with the ground. If the circulation is above the ground it's just called a funnel.

  • Looks like a cloud's turd. lol. but nice tornado

  • look cool when yur in the air :O!

  • its the clouds penis :D

  • thats not a tornado

  • Now thats awsome!! :)

  • this is most likely a cold air funnel, nice capture!

  • this is prob a bad question to ask but... what does a tornado look like from directly above it? (not in it above it)

  • @budgiebreder u wud prob see dark clouds idk..

  • @budgiebreder

If you have ever seen a hurricane on a doppler radar on the news, most likely a bit like that

  • @EditRealityGaming do you mean cloud swirling around a hole in the center?

  • @budgiebreder

Yep. I doubt it could look very diffrent than that.

  • @budgiebreder You wouldn't be able to see it. The storm cloud it forms from is usually massive and tall (unless i am mistaken)

  • @budgiebreder you cant see it its a cloud

  • @budgiebreder like a cloud....

  • @budgiebreder Like this ----> O

  • @seldian haha that was my guess.

  • @budgiebreder lol =P

  • @budgiebreder

it prolly looks like a huge cloud with an anus in it, the anus will spit out debree.

  • @budgiebreder Not sure if this would help completely, but there's a YouTube video called "Austin MN Tornado (Filmed from Airplane)," that is a Delta Airlines Boeing 737 (That's my best guess) that was above clouds while a tornado was occurring, that was filmed.

  • @DNETV thanks. i'll be sure to check it out sometime.

  • @budgiebreder from space, it's just a flat cloud that has reached the apex of cloud height in the atmosphere, so nothing special

  • that was pretty risky considering the fact that you can have more than one at one time, and since that one was small there is always the risk that it would be a satillite tonardo to a larger formation. You never want to be in the air when there's a tornado.. one could form next to or on top of you.. not fun.

  • looks like a horse cock hanging down

  • Obviously a flying horse penis. Those are pretty common around Tennessee

  • hahahahahaha

  • You were lucky, it was an innocent funnel cloud.

  • innocent? not untill it touches the ground. thats why they tell skywarn spotters to report funnel clouds

  • its not tornado... Its not moving can't you see? No twisting movements...

  • dude wtf?

  • real smart getting closer thats what you need to do

  • Its not a tornado thats a land spout getting pulled into the updraft of the cumulus cloud and probraly a tiny storm cell!, but its not the type of tornado most of you think of!

  • thats badass

  • Um...that is NOT a tornado

  • its close

  • Its not a tornado, or a funnel cloud...Theres no precipitation and the cloud heights are very low ( you can see in the background) This is not a severe weather occurence.

  • i was flighing to lebanon and beside us was 3 water spouts it was really scary

  • Wow, flying next to a tornado... Paging Mr. Darwin.......

  • looks like a landspout not a tornado

  • i tottally agree

  • amazing

  • So would this constitute a tornado warning?

  • Yes.

  • These are called land spouts, they form from cumulus clouds and small thunderstorms!

  • Actually you're wrong. This is a funnel cloud. When they touch ground they're tornados, when they touch water they're water spouts.

  • erm actually i think it would be a landspout, it wouldnt be a funnel cloud because there isnt a mesocyclone

  • erm actually landspouts have to be touching the ground before they're considered to be landspouts. Otherwise it is a cold air funnel cloud--which tend to be weak and lack the energy to reach the ground.

  • agreed

  • hehe jabiru

  • green skies? how about thunderstorms w/ hail? cmon i jsut experience awesome tornado action yesterday woo! 10 house torn to bits 1 mile down the road the it moved east haha! >:) (at least i think it was east)

  • thats not funny... now tornadoes can be cool but devastation isn't.

  • that is a cold air funnel. Usually formed by descending cold air that is rotating inside a fair weather cumulus cloud. They're almost kind of like landspouts, but they rarely ever do touch the ground. They are also most usually not as strong as normal tornadoes. That doesn't mean you should fly/run into one. as wind speeds can still be strong enough to pick up small debris and hurl it at you if it did ever touch the ground.

  • Comment removed

  • I WOULD BE SCARED SHITLESS!

  • siii.. eso no es un tornado

  • i was on that plane

  • scousecei, where u really on that plane????

  • How closer were you?

B/c its seems to be moving fast, relative to your position.

  • Technically, its not a tornado. Its a cold air funnel/funnel cloud. A tornado is a funnel that is in connection with the ground.

  • right, either buy cloud to ground or by kicking up debris on the ground

  • hope it dont touch lolz

  • that's a tornado... just can't touch ground cause too cold. it's spinning

  • Its not a tornado untill it tuches the ground

  • Not exactly. If there is a debris cloud on the ground with a funnel above it with nothing in between, its a tornado. Wind is invisible, what makes it dark is the dirt and debris it sucks up.

  • You are crazy. Holy shit!

  • Yep, that's a cold air funnel (otherwise known as a shear funnel). They form in regions of intense directional shear, usually after a frontal passage. They don't normally touch the ground, but if they do, the damage possibly is akin to a strong dust devil.

  • that's not a tornado that is just a cloud

  • dude i can see it spinning its a funnel cloud... what kind of cloud looks like a needle coming straight down?

  • a scud cloud

  • That's not a tornado!!! it's just a small column of air!!

  • Did the tornado ever touch the ground?

  • is this plane a cessna 172?

  • Well flying in that type of weather was gutzy.

  • its a cold air funnel

  • It's a funnel cloud until it touches ground or causes disturbance on the ground.

This looks too high (The ceiling is very high) and weak to reach the ground.

    Still fascinating.

Thank you for the clear, steady video.

  • robbie182 tornadoes can come from the ground

  • i am SO afraid of tornados!!!!

  • robbie u idiot the title is tornado from the air meaning the footage is caught from the air ;) lol

  • Frankownz, it has to be a tornado because clouds have a flat base.

  • flying ?? crazy

  • sure it was a tornado? could be a bit of a cloud

  • great video! i do agree that it is dumb to fly in that weather, but good shooting! it gives u a good perspective on how large they are.

  • so ur flying in that kind of weather? how stupid

  • haha this is the kind i wanna experience!!!!these storms are plainly amazing, ok maybe he didnt have enough time to see the funnel touch ground. so m sure it touched and BECAME a tornado....so u dont have to say that...no offense...but duh its a funnel

  • thats sodangerous super cells produce so much eradic winds up high where the warm updrafts are... theyve been known to flip planes upside down and cause crashes when there was never even a tornado

  • Its just a funnel, not a tornado bro ;)

  • funnels form into tornadoes... bro.

  • It's not a tornado unless it touches down bro ;)

  • Is this in Lilydale NY?

  • Lilydale VIC Australia. Sorry, forgot there would be more than one.

  • it's so beautiful!

  • I was within a few hundred meters of it, thats how I could tell it was rotating, and tornados come down not up.

  • it lyk goes down and den when da dirt get in it da dirt travels up da tornado and den it look lyk its goin up i think :P

    jst a guess

    not arguing

  • please learn how to say "like" and "the"

  • i kno how to say lyk and the i jst write it differently :S

u didnt have 2 b a dik and comment on dat.:)

  • Tornadoes can form both ways. The ones that form downward are called descending tornadoes and the ones that form upward are called non-descending tornadoes.

A study showed that there is a 50/50 chance of one of them occurring, so both types of formation have the same chance of occurring.

They can also possibly form both ways at the same time.

  • @thevintagegoth Tornadoes do NOT start from the ground! These are dust devils! Tornadoes start from the cloud!

  • @thevintagegoth @thevintagegoth Tornadoes do NOT start from the ground! These are dust devils! Tornadoes start from the cloud!

  • @thevintagegoth A tornado starts from the parent cloud, what you see on the ground is the dust and debris being kicked up by the lowering funnel.

The ones starting from the ground are dust devils, and are not associated with a cloud above, they are not the same thing at all.

  • HOW IS THIS FAKE!! ITS NOT U MORONS!

  • How did you get to get in a helicopter

  • not a tornado. looks like a regular ole cloud to me

  • coz all clouds rotate and sprial downwards. I concead it may be a sheer cloud, but certainly nothing regular about it.

  • the word it "conceed"!

  • obviously a cloud since they turn into rapidly spinning columns of air that destroy things every day

  • how could u make a fake tornado? -___-'

  • That's Fake cuz the cloud it's coming from would be lower

  • That looks so fake!

  • It is A piece of living crap Cloud

  • It is A piece of living crap Cloud

  • Lol, classic, you fly right into a tornado? That'd be some classic shit, man.

  • I can see rotation in the small funnel near the end

  • No cell...Its just a dense section of cloud xD

  • shoulda seen the sumbitch that hit vancouver violent. no trace of a cell

  • Nice funnel cloud! Did it touchdown into a tornado!

  • Don't think that is a tornado. First of all, the cloud base is too elevated. Tornadoes form from supercells, and I don't see any structure that resembles a supercell in the video. This does seem to be more of a shear funnel than anything else.

  • It looks like a shear funnel.

  • that doesnt really look like a tornado...

  • That seems terribly stupid, but it's terribly good footage too. Seems to coincide usually.

  • very nice i fly over at lilydale in there warriors, what day did this occur ?

  • Amazing footage!

  • Fantastic footage!
