  • Richie + Rhonny = the Bests

  • The music is as eternal spirit has no end

  • Awesome! I have this concert on DVD. Hey if you like Ritchie, you should check out this band called Den Of Thieves. They have a song called Killing For Love. The guitarist has his style down, the drummer is like Bonham, and the bass player has this McCartney esque approach. Very unique and melodic. Love them!

  • Change the title.

  • always the volume of ritchie's guitar is low..

  • RIP Ronnie! You were a huge musical infuence in my life. The best rock/metal singer of all time! Oh, and Ritchie, you are the king! You are the reason I play guitar.

  • he is Paganini of th 20th century and others as well ...

  • he is Paganini of th 20th century

  • But, er of course there is always, "DEEP PURPLE WILL PLAY IF CONDITIONS ARE RIGHT." Oh crap! Dio didn't play in that Rainbow either; he had his Black Sabbath litl' side - and they were on the air. But, seriously looking back, I can now see the point. It's like, "como deep purple-play." & it no go on. Ritchie did his share fair. See, he could have replaced ye ol faithful band with Roger surplus & the Bonnie fare. Tho Page might have had the most merit. He tried to stick to gun at least. Whoispete

  • No. Megadeth's is totally different. It goes, "to kill the king, the king is dead, I am the king, the king is dead, kill the king, I am the king - god rest the king." Song drove me fuckin' nuts. I thought I was the queen also. But, that is why Dave is here, to screw with us, and also makes us less evil - smmmassshhh. That's total bs. Oh well.

Dave won this one over dio. His was better. : p , But, ooohhh still i'm sad oommmooommmm om.

  • Is this the same "Kill the King" that Megadeth does? It sounds similiar.

  • DIO R.I.P.

  • Cozy Powell in drums is superb here. What a perfomance! Those drums are about to erupt under Cozy hands.

  • I want to see Ritchie and Ronny together on stage again!

  • これって、ライブとしてレコード化されたもの

    ですよね?すごい迫力

  • これはミュンヘンでの映像かな?

    CD・DVD化されましたね

    OnStageは実況録音盤としてレコード化されましたね。TVで見た世代です

  • Great clip

  • this version of the song is excellent!

Dio sounds fantastic and Ritchie sounds inspired though not too much to go off on his tangents. Cozy Powell does well on the drum kit.

Altogether a great song. Neither Gillan or Coverdale can sing like Dio, but they can't write like him either. Coverdale's Burn is good though.

    Long live rock and roll!!!

  • Nice comment.I know that but There's something in Gillans voice...sth young..

  • gues yes,dio didn't screw it up for sabbath he took it took a heavier roots while gillian took it to a softer roots and ozzy just sang like plain shit, sabbath is about tony and not about ozzy glad he left the band his voice was really bad.anyway gillian is a very good singer to.

  • Gillan is the best singer who ever worked with Ritchie

  • While I think that the original albums that Blackmore and Gillian recorded with the Deep Purple mark 2 line up are the finest of his career, both Purple mark 3 albums are amazing(esp 'Burn') and Rainbow Rising is a classic, if you are talking about originality, range and power both Coverdale(pre cock rock era) and Dio are just as good as Gillian, although they are all very different singers, and its very much a matter of personal taste in regards to who is "best"

  • you are so right

  • Face it dude, Ronnie James Dio is better ! Was and still is.

  • the singer is a guy by the name of ronnie james dio.they had a few lead singers in thier various line-ups,even graeme bonnett of its all over now baby blue fame got a shot at it.I think ronnie dio even ended up as black sabbaths singer for a short time after ossie osbourne left

  • Dio did 3 studio albums and a live album with Sabbath, and having recorded 3 new tracks for a best of compilation they have reformed as Heaven & Hell. As well as Dio and Graham Bonnett the band has recorded with Joe Lynn Turner (who also joined Deep Purple for a short time) and Dougie White on vocals, but the Dio era is the definitive line up, esp the 'Rainbow Rising' album, although the Bonnett album features a few great tracks and has a fantastic production.

  • Is the singer David Coverdale?

His voice is great but here He seems to be running out of his "sources" at the end (at higher pitches).

Anyway it's a great song! I love it!

  • dio fonaraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa reeeee

  • Best of Blackmore great concert I got this one complete.

  • the Greatest Man In Black, the Greatest group, the Greatest music, the Greatest Rock'n'Roll

  • Well, I agree with Ritchie that his idol Django

is the greatest ever, but yeah Ritchie's up there tied for second in my book with Paco DeLucia and John MacLaughlin. And within the genre of Heavy Rock/Metal I'd put him at first.

  • Ladies and Gentleman, the Greatest Guitar Player in history: RITCHIE BLACKMORE

  • one of my all time favorite solos in this piece.Still listen to it in awe every time I hear it.

  • ...

  • DIO IS RAINBOW

  • Man I've been hearing these songs(classic rock, not only rainbow)all my life(16 years, thanks to my mother who is a fanatic of these songs)I want to cry everytime that I listen to them beause I know that nobody will ever do something so good ever again.

  • @ThelwEnaFiga Now you made me cry cuz you're sooo right

  • Oh yeah!!!Long Live Rock N' Roll!I miss Rainbow.

  • Superb

  • what a band... what an era... say them in Wembley Areana, 1980, as expected blackmore broke his guitar. The show the day earlier was cancelled as blackmore refused to come out for an encore, causing riots in the areana! Those were the days.

  • i would pay millions just to be able to go back and see them perform....oh God

  • saw them live right there, at oly munich, that day , as they startet at perhaps 00:30,

as ritchie was arrested in vienna/austria the day before. awesome, never will forget.

llr+r + greetings from munich, bavaria

  • Greetings too - i was in this beautiful concert too - I can remember exactly - i have "pictured" all my school-books with rainbows after this contert...the only chance zu survive after having seen this concert of the universe. dio came in just before the beginning and told us - that we can expect so see the best show ever produced...so long my friends - blackmore/dio for ever - since 30 Years I have never seen something better...

  • Take his head!

  • superb Band ,superb Dio

  • Why are you calling him Richie? It's Ritchie with a "T". Great song, and the best band ever!!!

  • A silent 'T' but that's cool- I can't spell either....it is a great song!

  • What a band. Kick-ass 70's music.

  • I remember when I first heard Rainbow. I was going through my dad's records and I saw their first album in there (along with some Zeppelin and Sabbath), so I listened to it, and subsquisently was blown away by its awesomeness.

  • dio was rainbow n tha died without him

  • BLACKMORE is Rainbow, Not only Dio

  • great band

  • I think NOBODY can stick with Ritchie whether in the past nor now.... he has the spider fingers !!!!

  • I meant his temper, ego, however you wanna put it.

  • This was the band, sound is kind of funky but they are right on.

  • Well ya figure this was taped in 77 I think.I'm just glad it's availible.

  • Great band. Too bad Dio could not stay because they could have been bigger monsters than they were!

  • Not too many people can stick with Richie for long.Shame about that.

  • Top song. They don't play them like that anymore.

  • Damn. 994 hits and no comments on this baddass song?

  • What can ya say....
