That's just how some people point. There are some of my teachers that when they point to things on the board, they point with their middle fingers. Unless it's intentional, don't say they are when they aren't please!
I`ve had my guitar for 3 years, but It was to hard to learn and to hard on the fingers. (I`m 13 now) So I quit trying to teach myself. I might try and take it up again though.
electric guitars are almost da same thing only wit alot of da chords you have to strum specific notes. Plus there is a ton more frets on an electric guitar.
cut away is an acoustic with part cut out so you can reach the higher frets for higher noises and solos and most lead guitar. full body is the "normal" acoustic guitar
Basically, you get two types of guitars: folk (also known as regular acoustic) and classical. Folk guitars have steel strings which hurt a lot more on your fingers, but they make a louder, slightly metallic sound. Classical guitars have nylon strings which hurt less, but make a more sweet and gentle sound, which isn't as loud, and also they have a thicker neck. Folk guitars are good for training your fingers to play electric guitar (which is also steel stringed, just at lower tension).
just bought a Jasmine Takamine acoustic today. the guy was like "why don't you try playing a few notes?" and i was like "I've never held a guitar before. So this really helped me realize what exactly I was doing. Thanks!
