Capoeira was made in the 1800s. the slaves made it and disgised it as a dance to fool their masters and thats how they practiced in front of them. Ive seen Capoeira masters fight in mma and other fights and ive never seen one loose.

Capoeira is the best martial art ever. there is no better one. it is sneaky with 90% kicks. the rest is elbows and head butts. I study Capoeira. and that scene is in the Protector not Ong Bak. The Protector is my fav. martial art movie. O and F-U Guitanton. like to see you fight a Capoeira guy.

There is no best martial art ever, it's stupid to think so, only the man who practices makes the difference at a split second.

I like capoeira for the sneaky attacks, very decieptive and hard to deal with, and the throw/close combat attacks that people think they don't have are powerful. Great martial art. But not so good at fighting multiple opponents, or against weapons. That makes all the difference.

I practised capoeira for 4 years non stop...and I couldn't ever say something as naive as: the best martial art ever... That's plain ignorant. Try your capoeira vs MMA, Penchak Silat, Boxe de Rue, English boxing, Vale Tudo, Jiu Jitsu...then...go back and train... Capoeira is still evolving, so don't pretend it's already top notch...

The Protector is the English name for it, Ong Bak is the Thai(?) name for the movie.

Also, Capoeira is kickass, I practice it too. A lot better then people give it credit for.
