I´m a swedish guy who has fallen in love with the older persian culture, poetry, and music. I have a longing for knowing more and going to Iran one day. Somebody has an idea or some suggestions for me to start with?

kan du ikke persisk, vil jeg anbefale "Robaiiate Khayam" siden den er gjendiktet til mange språk og jeg er ganske sikker på at svensk er et av dem. Den er gjendiktet til norsk ihvertfall. Her er en introdkusjon (my favorite):

However these r much more beautiful and meaningsfull in persian.
