  • And this is why I love my home, Alberta is the best place on earth!!!!!!

  • Perfect video! LIKE+1 The night timelapse was SICKK! I thought we had alot of stars in VA til I saw this!!!

  • man i love what you do

  • @shadowcnidarian Hahahahaha true that

  • 0:29 "the Misty Mountains" is that a Wheel Of Time reference?

  • The Hobbit I think.

  • how do u do a timelapse????

  • Thunerf00t gives a good description of how he does it on this channel (beautyintheuniverse) in a video called Timelapse made Cheap and Easy with a Webcam (watch?v=ggfcUrItpZc).

  • Record normally then speed it up in editing.

if you wanna have some fun move really slow in the footage and get your mates to move around normal speed.

When you speed it up you'll move normal speed but your mates will move like the flash :D.

  • similar things are happening to the glaciers here in nz, ive noticed them retreating over a 10 year period, often significantly

  • Love the driving tunes!

  • man the DSLR timelapse was amazing

  • Awesome video as usual Tf00t!

  • Love these vids!

  • This reminds me of a Simpsons episode where Lisa is trying to draw attention to a melted glacier and the park ranger is pretending that he can't see it, that the glacier is still there.

  • 200 years from now it will probably be at the marker or the lodge

  • Given that the trend is in the opposite direction and the mostly likely suspect(s) for that trend will likely not be abating, your prediction seems exceedingly unlikely.

  • beautiful video, thanks thunderfoot!!!

  • LOTR reference ftw.

  • Misty Mts. : )

I used to wonder what the view looks like to a high flying hawk and thanks to your plane vids, now I know. So beautiful. Txs!

  • This channel is excellent

  • i always think this time i wont favourite it.. i wont favourite it....

then come your flight videos and i cant resist. i love them. thank you!

  • TF always has the coolest trance in his videos

  • At about 1:53, it looks like there is a meteor a bit to the top-right of the centre.

Might be a little off, tried to correct as the time seems to jump a couple seconds ahead of target.

  • Damnit thought so. Now it's going to the time exactly. The actual time is about 1:55.

  • do you use a radio av transmitter when you fly the plane? what i mean is can you see through the camera while flying the plane?

  • I don't think he can. In his Crater Lake video he mentioned having to keep a constant eye on the plane so he doesn't get the orientation mixed up. In other videos he's mentioned reviewing the footage after landing.

He clearly has a good idea of where to point the camera though, such as when he pointed it to the left as it passed by him at 5:36.

  • its just that in this one i saw him wearing a head piece so im not sure

  • He wore it in that one too. I think he mentioned what it was for in his recent BlogTV thing with DPRJones, but I forget what it was.

  • What a great adventure, thanks for bringing us along with all your robots!

  • Comment removed

  • And I thought my recent roadtrip to Washington then down to San Francisco was an accomplishment.

Damn pedestrian compared to your trek Thunder.

  • More goodness from thunderf00t!

  • I'm really enjoying the whole series so far. Awesome nighttime time-lapse!

  • thunderf00t, thank you for taking us along on your trip! I love the videos!

  • Yes it is. I've never been to Canada, but after watching these videos, I want to go.

  • That night time lapse was wicked!

  • love the driving timelapse so much! it's great to see the mountains far in the distance get so close so fast!

  • another great video...

do you have to make adjustments to fly at higher altitudes? air density affect performance?

  • In his "Luckiest landing ever" video, he explains that the plane flies faster at altitude and the stall speed is lower.

  • hey- thanks for the reply...

  • I love your videos and everything but your music taste is TERRIBLE.

  • driving music...

  • something amazing to see the sky time lapse while driving under them. amazing video as usual

  • marvellous

  • Misty Mountains?

LORD OF THE RINGS FOR THE FUCKING WIN.

  • Last time I saw the Athabasca it was a bit more ... huge. Must have been '83 or '84.

  • again with the music, please try another genre. otherwise a good vid.

  • I didn't have a chance to see the ice fields when I was out west; it's good to see them now.

  • do u have anymore videos showing the time-lapse of the night sky? the footage in this video was just amazing

  • Tfoot, I definitely need to get to know you so that the next time you're in Calgary, we can chill over some Tim Hortons.

  • welcome to Alberta Tf00t!

  • So, did you get your radiator fixed. Those things don't tend to heal for long, so you're probably running on borrowed time. I recommend fixing it, but if you don't you may want to at LEAST carry around a bunch of duct tape, water, JB weld, heavy duty adhesive, and stop leak.

If you're going to drive that fast at night you'll need some brighter headlights, too :)

  • geez, you're pretty far north. I guess there's a still a long way to the arctic coast, but anything above North Dakota seems pretty damn far north to me. :)

Loved the night time lapse as well. A bit cloudy, but cool nonetheless.

  • Those night timelapses are beautiful.

  • I walked onto the nose ofa glacier that looked justlike this in Norway. First, there was a rumble as it shifted, which scared the crap out of us, but wasn't repeated. Then, we found hundreds of dessicated dead lemmings on top. Apparently they hibernate under the snow in the winter, and sometimes the spring meltwater drowns them. Creepy!

  • I really do enjoy your roadtrip, sitting here at the clinique on the grave yeard shift.

cannot wait untill i go diving again in the tropical SE ASIA seas, only 5 more months then im of :)

  • A remix of Mansun: Wide Open Space

    (a ruinous remix imo)

  • MAN-BEAR -PIG!

  • but this video has nothing to do with big foot!!!

IM TELLING YOU BIG FOOT PLANNED GLOBAL-9/11-WARMING!!!!

    Im totally serial!

  • yo less see if this works

  • Hey Tf00t. You should get a small digital clock and put it just in frame of your timelapse camera, so we can watch the time whip past as we watch. It would give a better idea of the true time taken.

Love this series you have done (And last years) .

    Keep em coming!

  • Do you sleep ever!?! It seems like you hardly have the time.

  • what song is this? :P

    that night timelapse was amazing.

  • ***** the odd weekend in the lake district just won't seem the same anymore. :(

  • Time lapses of the night sky are the coolest thing.

  • agree! :O

  • This is a great cheap holiday. Thanks

  • Trash plane @ 3:03! LOL

  • O Canada.

    I have family in calgary

  • Its so weird to see you driving and traveling through my own province after watching your videos for so long... Cant wait to see the drumheller video as I was just there a week ago.

  • No kidding.. feels strange..

  • I wanna know the names of the songs TFoot is using.

  • Stunning, loving all of the flying sessions :)

That melting glacier is a peter popoff business in the making. Miracle glacier water! send your money now! LOL ;)

  • The side of Canada i rarely get to see.

  • Now I wanna visit Canada even more!!

  • i need a list of all the music your usin so i can fill up my ipod!

  • it's great having such a wonderful member of the British Royal family as a visitor to my country, I sincerely thank you for showing others the beauty of my homeland

    I hope I wasn't supposed to keep that a secret? ;-)

  • If I were six inches tall and a member of Team American I would fly your plane into the side of a glacier or Ray Comfort's knee.

  • There someting grand and solemn about your solitary journey and these air footages.

  • the melting of that glacier is quite painful to watch :(

  • it's too HD for me.

this would take ages to loud.

that or i just ran out of fast down loads

  • Wonderful!

  • It seems you're going everywhere but where mormons are... wise choice!

  • Wow tf00t you have seen more wonders in a few months than most people see in a lifetime! I wish i was there.

  • you should start telling us where you get that funky music from!

  • one of the songs is a remix of Cups by Underworld

It sounds similar to this remix.

    watch?v=3YlspsffHbc

  • Ugh, so pixely.

    Still great though.

  • Just gotta wait a few minutes for youtube to work its magic.

  • at around 2:10 it starts to look like cgi almost

  • i see that too! that makes us nerds!

    *hi-fives*

  • From 2:24 - 2:45 it definitely looks surreal.

  • I can recall from geology that glacial ice can be characterized as a mineral, just like quartz or salt.

Funny how one wonders about the age of melting ice but not the age of the stones that make up our buildings and pavement.

  • Or the atoms that make up our body. How many people and other animals have our current atoms been part of over last few billion years?

  • I have to wonder how much this vacation has taken out of tF00t. Going from the america southwest to the Yukon, climate change and just the cost 0_0

  • Yukon??

Do you know something I don't?

  • well maybe not the Yukon, but rather he went from the american southwest in the middle of summer to a glacier.

  • The Tolkien references make me smile. :-)

  • they make me giggle

  • So I reason you did not get shot :)

  • I wish I could go on a trip like that.

  • brilliant

  • your spaceship is so fast like how fast do you go like 1000 mph.

  • very cool. (no pun intended)

  • So cool.....

  • Sweet

  • excellent

  • It does make you wonder how long that ice has been frozen and how old the water was.

  • very nice

  • Geoff Hurst.

  • way to go Thunderf00t!
