Thunerf00t gives a good description of how he does it on this channel (beautyintheuniverse) in a video called Timelapse made Cheap and Easy with a Webcam (watch?v=ggfcUrItpZc).
This reminds me of a Simpsons episode where Lisa is trying to draw attention to a melted glacier and the park ranger is pretending that he can't see it, that the glacier is still there.
Given that the trend is in the opposite direction and the mostly likely suspect(s) for that trend will likely not be abating, your prediction seems exceedingly unlikely.
I don't think he can. In his Crater Lake video he mentioned having to keep a constant eye on the plane so he doesn't get the orientation mixed up. In other videos he's mentioned reviewing the footage after landing.
He clearly has a good idea of where to point the camera though, such as when he pointed it to the left as it passed by him at 5:36.
So, did you get your radiator fixed. Those things don't tend to heal for long, so you're probably running on borrowed time. I recommend fixing it, but if you don't you may want to at LEAST carry around a bunch of duct tape, water, JB weld, heavy duty adhesive, and stop leak.
If you're going to drive that fast at night you'll need some brighter headlights, too :)
geez, you're pretty far north. I guess there's a still a long way to the arctic coast, but anything above North Dakota seems pretty damn far north to me. :)
Loved the night time lapse as well. A bit cloudy, but cool nonetheless.
I walked onto the nose ofa glacier that looked justlike this in Norway. First, there was a rumble as it shifted, which scared the crap out of us, but wasn't repeated. Then, we found hundreds of dessicated dead lemmings on top. Apparently they hibernate under the snow in the winter, and sometimes the spring meltwater drowns them. Creepy!
Hey Tf00t. You should get a small digital clock and put it just in frame of your timelapse camera, so we can watch the time whip past as we watch. It would give a better idea of the true time taken.
Love this series you have done (And last years) .
Its so weird to see you driving and traveling through my own province after watching your videos for so long... Cant wait to see the drumheller video as I was just there a week ago.
it's great having such a wonderful member of the British Royal family as a visitor to my country, I sincerely thank you for showing others the beauty of my homeland
I hope I wasn't supposed to keep that a secret? ;-)
And this is why I love my home, Alberta is the best place on earth!!!!!!

Record normally then speed it up in editing.
if you wanna have some fun move really slow in the footage and get your mates to move around normal speed.
When you speed it up you'll move normal speed but your mates will move like the flash :D.

At about 1:53, it looks like there is a meteor a bit to the top-right of the centre.
Might be a little off, tried to correct as the time seems to jump a couple seconds ahead of target.

Damnit thought so. Now it's going to the time exactly. The actual time is about 1:55.

do you have to make adjustments to fly at higher altitudes? air density affect performance?

In his "Luckiest landing ever" video, he explains that the plane flies faster at altitude and the stall speed is lower.

I can recall from geology that glacial ice can be characterized as a mineral, just like quartz or salt.
Funny how one wonders about the age of melting ice but not the age of the stones that make up our buildings and pavement.
