@DarkNatasX The secret to golf or any sport is not that simple. Relatively few people can do them well. Most runners who are told to run fast do not make the grade.
@JackNirenstein That's how i made it in track.i honestly think technique is good, but the real way to run fast, is how much force you put onto the ground. Everyone pretty much runs the same pace, just pushes off the ground more. It will push you off much farther. Now after that, you need to learn around stamina.
The advice on that site is just as bad as all the others. You cannot relax without knowing how. Your proactive muscles need to work their hardest while the opposing muscles need to relax. Leaning is not done with the upper body. You can stand in place with a horizontal upper body. Stronger muscles do not make you faster, only technique does. My technique advances correct the bad parts in the gravity technique everyone uses.
When you stand centered between your heel and toe the heel is pressing from behind and the toe is pressing from in front. You are centered betweed both supports and no muscles can push you, because your legs are designed to push you straight up, not forward. You can't move forward staying centered. you need to lift the front support and fall forward. When you reach your pace your feet drop ahead. The more they drop ahead the more you lose the speed you reached.
Landing off balance more than the others always wins because gravity pulls you faster. You can't do that without falling unless you exchange your feet faster (up and forward). The speed spreads the feet apart and you need to work hard to keep them together as much as you can. The effort to shorten your stride pays off to land more to the rear. Far behind the center of balance at the start and less in front of center when you reach your pace.
Naturally running faster is harder work so you need to practice at over-speed for shorter distances, say 50 yards. The harder effort is for bringing the raised foot forward faster, and lifting faster. You can do that and run slow. You need to drop your feet more to the rear when you exchange your feet faster. The fast exchange allows you to do that. Get yourself off balance the most you can and gravity will pull you faster. Tilting the upper body has no effect on speed except on first step.
You can prove me crazy by taking one step forward without falling ahead of your foot. And, take one step backward without falling behind your foot. Go back to school and relearn what gravity does when you stand off center. Everyone else gets what I am saying, so maybe the world is crazy and not you.
Gravity pulls you for all speeds from walking to sprinting. When you drop your feet behind your body's center (navel high), the speed increases exponentially with each stride. The more steps and farther back you drop your feet the more speed increases. You level off when your coordination stops. At that point your feet reach ahead of center. The less ahead, the less slowdown from the speed you reached.
But how can you make bigger strides? In sprinting, stride length en frequency are the key to speed! Can your technique improve both??? It seems to me only stride frequency can improve. I don't want to criticize you but could you explain this a bit more plz?
The stride length is determined by the speed. You are always trying to shorten the stride length. In distance running your effort to shorten the stride is moderate. In a sprint you use all your force to return the raised foot. You cannot shorten the stride because the feet spread apart more by the speed before you can shorten the spread. So the speed lengthens the stride before you can shorten it. The more you shorten the stride the more you can set yourself off balance by dropping feet far back
You can't move ahead of your toes when you press them. When you lift your toes your weight is ahead of your heels and you fall forward. You cannot stand still when you are off balance. Watch the video again, this time pay attention.
Thank you for your comment. My technique needs a lot of simple steps to use gravity fully. Your sense of balance won't let you fall fast enough if you can't catch yourself. I show how to exchange feet faster. Stay tuned.
Thank you. It is an extraordinary find that will help people with their most often used activity...self transport from walking to sprinting. It makes life easier. Stay tuned.
Thank you. Where you drop your feet determines your pace. Less reach forward vaults you ahead faster. It is a falling process using gravity when off balance. Stay tuned
Thank you. I don't feel that old. Keepin circulation open and toning the muscles are important keys. Relaxation by not opposing the action of the lift by trying to push back at the ground instead of standing neutral and letting gravity pull you forward. Stay tuned.
There are two stages of a run. (1)Each step gets faster when you keep your feet dropping behind your body. (2)Each step stays at the same speed when your feet drop ahead of your body. You already do that unnoticed or you couldn't get to your pace. Learn to be more off balance for speed.
