Teeth get sensitive after whitening due to the lessening of the enamel's inorganic content (calcium and hydroxyapatite). Enamel is naturally translucent, what makes it appear yellow is the sensitive dentin underneath. When you use whitening products it weakens the tough translucent enamel making it decalcified (whiter) resulting to various degrees of sensitivity.

i've read a bunch of reviews about these, and i'm sure they vary from person to person, but i hardly felt any pain. if i never read any reviews, i doubt i would've noticed anything at all. in other words, i noticed it because i was looking for it. i didn't notice any results after about 4 days, but after 8, it looked dramatically better. just make sure the strips stick on all the way so not just the top half of your teeth are whitened haha.
