Dalek Caan. as the last of his race, turns to drink and drugs and ends up in rehab where he encounters Kate Moss and Pete Doherty and does the world a favour by exterminating them prior to Temporally Shifting to warmer climes for a well deserved holiday before planning his one man (or one Dalek) campaign for universe domination resulting in him falling off the wagon as he realises the futility of his idea. Poor Caan!

there are HEAPS of error's in these two episodes concerning the cult of skaro members' eye-stalk tags and voices. for example, in this scene, dalek caan has dalek jast's eye-stalk tag and dalek sec's voice pitch. you can also tell these cult of skaro episodes- daleks in manhattan and evolution of the daleks, were written by a different person to RTD without looking at the opening credits.

RTD's cult episodes- army of ghosts and doomsday, caan one has one line and generally is the least important of the cult in those episodes. while in this story, he (along with sec) is the most important of the cult of skaro... wow, a lot of typing.

Im confused. How could Dalek caan go back to the time war, when the time lock has not yet been broken and there was no explanation as to how it was broken? as far as i know the only time we here of it being broken is in the End of time.

Caan didn't break the time lock, he just somehow managed to get back to the time war without breaking it, but it caused him to go insane.

Could have been a fluke, a mistake, an unknown crack in the time lock. Sheer force of will brought on by the desperation of Caan at being the only Dalek left? Something to consider too, we're not exactly sure what being time-locked entails. Maybe losing one's mind is what happens when you try to go into a time locked period, but Caan's the only one who ever got back out again...with Davros along for the ride.

This is the last evil thing that Dalek Caan does. Afterwards he does the temporal shift and then he travels through the time vortex, making him completely insane and he betrays his own kind which makes him one of the good guys!
