    ***************

  • LOVE THAT MOVIE N THE SONG TOO....

  • Andy Garcia's masterpiece was panned by the entire liberal press including that shitbag roger ebert who God gave cancer to for being a craven liberal.

  • As a total side note to all the arguments going on here, can I just say that not only is this movie amazing, but the soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal.

  • CUBA, GRAN PAIS EJEMPLO DEGRANDESA Y DIGNIDAD PARA LOS PAISES DE AMERICA Y DEL MUNDO,CUBA EMPOBRECIDA POR LOS YANQUIS Y ALIADOS Y APOYADOS POR LOS CUBANOS RENEGADOS EXILIADOSQUE SOLO CABE EN ELLOS CABE LE MENTALIDAD EGOISTA DEL CAPITALISMO

  • QUE NOSTALGIA ANDY GRANDE.CUBA BELLAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

  • Cuba linda, gente linda que nunca olvidare tampoc.linda cancion cachao y linda pelicula andy.gracias

    Y todo, commo el diamante

    Antes que luz, es carbon!

  • great lyrics! jose marti was great!

  • great movie! Cuba is a great country! the western capitalism is a crap, but it is the less harmfull one! when a better system will occur, l will be the first to greet it!

  • Por que no colocan los comentario en español para entenderlos mejor

  • Does someone knows where can I find these lyrics (in Spanish and English translation)? it's so beautiful.

and yes, Castro ruined the country. Havana looks like just after the war, yet there is no war...

  • A glamorous movie, exploring an unpalatable and apocalyptic subject for an entire nation and its people. The scene with fico leaving the country and at immigrations, where the commies snatch his only souvenir from cuba is horrible. This is more of a horror movie than anything I have seen, because those were mostly fictional, this is real.Socialism/communism does'nt work, proven fact. That scene where he tells the immigrations guy that the camera is capturing the injustices in america takes the cake!

  • @cillantro You know what if they did a film about what the U.S had done to countless other countries in the world it would make this look like an episode of friends..get a grip.I've been to Cuba and it's quite patronising the way people who have not even been their seem to think they have the finger on the pulse of the world.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL True I have not been to Cuba nor did I ever mention I have, did I?I have seen what communism can do to a place and it is literally uniform in its destruction of human rights, wealth generation....

I am from India and there are two main states gripped by communism called Kerala and Bengal. In Bengal, the commies have been in power for more than 26 years and it has ruined what used to be the most prosperous state here.Kerala is a beautiful shithole.I can imagine it when watchin TLC

  • @cillantro Are they independent states within India? If not then you cant say that a very Capitalist Nuclear power like India is communist. Communism can only happen as a result of world Revolution. The Capitalist world is an evil Empire that promotes greed and exploitation of countries such as yours. No workers rights, that is why western businesses are moving factories to Asia to exploit a workforce with no Union and no rights.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL Ironically,in Asia it is the so-called champions of communism/state control i.e. China(PRC) which allows no unions, they use water cannons if anyone talks of labour unions! India is so unionised,I am afraid how the poor in my country will get jobs to feed and clothe their family?! So it is the communist who exploit their own people. You know, you can be a communist in a capitalist, democracy like India or UK coz you have your rights but what about being a democrat in a cuba, china?

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL About India what i mean was,we have coommunism at the stae levels.State governments especially in coalition with the ruling party(Congress party of India) can do as they please. The communists are allies with the central govt ironically! The congress would do anything to keep power here,so would communists. The ruling of states is almost an internal affair. If you visit bengal or kerala which had commie govts for 20 years, you would witness the damage they had suffered.Thas my pt!

  • @cillantro Well that same point can be lent to many other states around the world.Mexico for example, a capitalist country but poor and has thousands of people trying to get across the US boarder, where as a boat load of Cubans try to do the same thing and it's all because of Communism. I have been there and although no Country is perfect I just do not buy into Evil Castro bullshit. Not one rebellion in 52 years when they used to have revolutions every other year before that.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL Thats not what we are saying. The Mexicans make that crossing not because of poverty per se but because of drugs related violence, rebel groups and gang violence which is very rampant there.I mean all the world is not scandinavia(low population/growth,enormous resources, land area and high taxes, enlightened governance)to actually make socialism work.People escape mexico to avoid dodging bullets, not really to put food in their mouths.Poverty in mexico is mostly rural.cont.........

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL Mexicans are escaping violence from the cartels, gangs &socialist rebels.Nearsest exit route is the US.why don't peope emigrate from otr latin american countries?Costa ricans have a per capita of $6000 to Mexico's $10,000..why are there not many illegal costa rica emigrants in the US?Because it is a peacefull, nice country, whereas Mexico despite its booming economy has serious problems with violence. Not every place is scandinavia(high resource/tax,low pop)to make socialism work

  • @cillantro People do, There are Cubans living in Venezuela,Bolivia and Brazil. And Costa Rica is a practically US territory just like Cuba was. They can't fart without Americas permission.

Despite Cuba's problems they manage to afford free health care dentistry and University education for all. That's why capitalists tell lies about countries like Cuba who show to the world that there is another way and it does not centre around greed and the primary need to make money. Some things are sacred.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL Costa rica is independent and a democracy, batista's cuba was an autocracy....there is a difference. On the contrary costa rica actually antagonises the US way too much, what with giving tax breaks to intel and the likes making huge US multi nationals shift base to costa rica. They also have provided a safe haven to all the poker sites which can't operate on US soil due to their draconia law!Cuba can become a medical tourism hub and also rich if they capitalise, why queue for food?

  • @cillantro Batista was U.S sponsored.

China and Venezuela are ignoring the Embargo.so are spain which will soon leave to the rest of Europe. As the USA declines as a power that embargo will start to mean nothing. As we speak a cable is being laid between Venezuela and Cuba that will speed up the nations broadband by 3000 times. This is being done by a French company.China are building there and venezuela gives Cuba Oil for Cuban doctors.I was there 3 months ago, things are changing.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

Glad thing are changing.I have nothing to do with the cuban people and have never been to cuba(till now). But I am socially aware and can well imagine their situation.I also read that the ration of private to state ownership of enterprises in cuba is 24%:76 % today. It used tobe 91% state ownership before. Those are good signs.Aligning with PRC is not. They are just using this communist link to gain a foothold in the americas(missile crisis ala USSR?)....What was that abt spain?

  • @cillantro No China is doing exactley what it is doing all around the Carribean. In Trinidad they built a massive cricket stadium for free but in return there is a new chinese community business base. But Cuba no doubt will be important. I was speaking to many cubans and they do want change but they dont want to be like the russians going from extreme left to extreme right. They want to keep their healthcare and (according to the few i have met) they support the revolution. But want change.

  • Comment removed

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL Trini is rich why do they need chinese assistance?Anyway about Cuba,do you really think you would be allowed to meet the average person on the street?I heard they present Cuba to the tourists and the "locals" you meet are supporters mostly. They decide who you meet and who you don't!The ones that failed an attempt to get onto a raft won't be meeting you.A thought:Emperor piyi became a commie after re-education!The communists that re-educated him don't follow it!oh the irony ^_^

  • @cillantro yes , we were encouraged to have meals in peoples houses.Look it doesnt matter what I say.Let's not pretend you have the potential to have a second opinion.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL You said:"yes , we were encouraged to have meals in peoples houses.Look it doesnt matter what I say.Let's not pretend you have the potential to have a second opinion."

What did you mean by that? And who are you to decide what my potential is?My second opinion is better than your primary one!THAT is my potential. You see,In a free society everyone has the right to voice his/her opinion. In the communist paradise you envision, silencing people as u intend is the order of the day.

  • @cillantro See and you prove my point ...You have a set opinion. The Cuban's Tourist board was very open and encouraged us to go into peoples homes for dinner rather than the hotels. They are very poor but a very proud people and it matters not what happens after castro dies, because the revolution is and will always be the island's identity for years to come and they are proud of it.Doesnt mean they do not want change though because they do, but not americas way and that's for certain.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL I don't have a set opinion. Those are for people who hate cubans because of castro.I hate the idealogy and not its followers. The ppl whose homes you were let into were hand picked from the populace and these people you met are not a representation of the average cuban on the street. The right, centre supporters, dissenters of castro regime are people you won't meet.Thats all I am saying, you were presented with cuba not allowed to see it for what it truely is.I would like that FYI!

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL They have a right to be proud as their country is an example of multiculturalism working in the americas and was prosperous before the revolution. It was not free and therefore a revolution was needed but a democratic one.Two wrongs don't make a right. You are proof of your own point as you do not have the tencity to listen to others.Your mindset is as fixed as you think mine is.I never said socialism does'nt work.It does in scandinavia and the prsn gulf(Low pop, high resources).

  • @cillantro It was Che Guevarea who de- segregated schools after the revolution.Cuba was very much intouch with the racism seen in America at that time before the revolution.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL That may be so.But the devastation brought about by communism far outweighs the benefits that it brings.

  • @cillantro Listen to yourself, we are living in a Capitalist world.Famine , corupt governments fundd by rich western powers , fuelling foreign wars in africa to keep them at eachothers throats..Exploitation of workers on the subcontinent that make our flat scrren TV's and trainers for 10 rupees a day. It's all for our benefit in the west. And we see no problem becase we cant see it and we are living alright..Yeah at the expense of the ones we exploit and keep down.Capitalism is Evil.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL Rs.10 a day? Dude your left leaning media is explotiting you with false news. That is all I can say. They make much more, enough to sustain in this economy, especially unionised workers(majority).I take a lot of interest in such matters.BTW the corrupt govt here(congress) was funded by the USSR previously, not the west. That was to keep us socialist, which is why we(India) are poor. The west funds in places like the middle east and africa,I do not deny that.Sheer doctrines r evil!

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL I agree US is responsible for India's pak probs. What the west is doing is not new.The great game(of colonisation and rape of the underpriviledged by the west)just got some new rules.Covert rather than overt ops seem to be the thumb rule.Cover the budget of Ghana and their resources are yours, especially since they can't mine it themselves unlike say Australia. But you know the current biggest player exploiting Africa? Its the PRC!They dealt with beligerents like Sudan and Somalia

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL The biggest manufacturer of products for american consumption is communist... and is China... If someone is exploiting their ppl is the Chinese government.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

I am suspicious of your claims of the desegregated schools by Che. Che himself was a racist and thought blacks to be beneath him.

Regardless, Cuba suffers more racism today than it did in the past. In a country with a majority mixed-racial population, less than 1% of those in the government are black. Blacks are forbidden from working in tourist areas. The longest serving political prisoner of modern times was Eusebio Penalver, an Afro-Cuban; longer than even Mandela.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

It is well known that the practice of letting tourists into the homes of Cubans is well rehearsed and planned. For a real candid response from a Cuban, I suggest you watch this video

    v=tLLAh2yTqu0

The Cuban people are proud of the revolution, but it is the ROB-olution that is a cancer on the Cuban history. After Castro dies and the regime ends, there will be no memorials for him just as there are no memorials for Hussein in Iraq or Pol Pot in Cambodia.

  • @cillantro you say "You see,In a free society everyone has the right to voice his/her opinion. In the communist paradise you envision, silencing people as u intend is the order of the day."

This is of course a well-known tactic developed by the Frankfurt School.

It is interesting that leftwing regimes have the most developed systems of dealing with "political enemies".

  • @cillantro you probably also noticed that I introduced the argument that no socialist or marxist regime has ever delivered lasting prosperity, yet on the other hand market-economics is lifting millionsof people out of poverty right now as we speak.

Instead of debating that point intellectually, a leftwinger just makes insults such as "you need to get laid".

What you say is true - the leftwing seeks to silence it's enemies rather than engage them with counterpoints.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

Allow me to enlighten you about health care in Cuba. One thing is "Universal Health Care" and another thing is "adequate health care". In Cuba, the pharmacies are regularly empty, not even stocked with aspirin. In the hospitals, patients regularly have to bring in their own bed sheets and food. For surgery, sutures and anesthesia must be sent in by relatives in the US because there are none in Cuba.

Cuban doctors are traded for oil in Venezuela. Human trafficking anyone?

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

In more than 50 years, there has been the Escambray Rebellion, the Maleconazo, The Ladies in White, Orlando Zapata, the Bay of Pigs (Cuban soldiers I remind you), the Mariel Boatlift, Pedro Pan, etc.

This sounds to me a lot more like rebellion than 52 years of peace.

I'm sure your being to Cuba makes you feel like a scholar, but you're not.

To learn about the problems of Cuba, one must speak to an exile just like one would speak to a Jewish exile for problems of Nazi Germany.

  • @rm06c Fuck off exile with yer saturated fat and yer colesterol.I am of irish decent but live in Britain and that does not for once give me any sort of trump card on Irish polotics. Get this through your fucking head...You aint getting your Capitalist yankee hands on Cuba and they will be neither your whores or your slaves no more.Making parrallels with the Nazis lol get a life.Ladies in white lol one of those prisoners is doing live for putting a machete through some poor sods head.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

Interesting. With all your arguments shown to be inaccurate, you have no other recourse but to use ad hominem.

I regularly visit my family in Cuba, the ones that are left at least. My uncle passed away in Cuba because they had no bandages or sutures to stop the bleeding in his head from a carpentry accident.

Please give me a name of the man charged with murder.

Before Castro: Thousands of immigrants trying to get into Cuba.

After Castro: Thousands trying to escape Cuba.

  • @rm06c quoting shit to me from google is bullshit. In Britain we have the Cuba solidarity organisation.Even when castro dies he wil be remembered as the man who won independance from the USA.China are there now and digging in..I know cos i was there 4 months ago.So guess what, your mother father grandparents uncle n aunts brought you up on a story full of shit.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

I'm not quoting google. Please explain how those quotes are incorrect.

Britain will be the only country to "honor" Castro then. Very sad. Homeopathy and Castro-worship, how much more bs can Britain handle?

I'm sure you had a great time in Cuba. I'm talking about the Cubans though, not you. I'm more than satisfied with the story I hear from Cubans than all the sources you claim. They're far more consistent.

Address my arguments, then we can talk intelligently.

  • @rm06c Address my arguments ..LOL you dont set the tone here.I have seen what happens when Capitalism takes over a former socialist state and I have seen the devastation and the bodies. All the shit that is going on in the world and you want to get excited over 20 women. You are blinkered by hatred your family has raised you on.You are beyond debate.Even when the Castro's die do you honestly think that they will surrender their independance to America again? Never.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

I think you've made it clear that you have no arguments. What you have is propaganda and strong emotions.

Those 20 women have more courage in their toes than you have in your whole body. They have risked their lives and livelihoods to protest a regime which has consistently ranked among the worst tyrants in the world.

I have no hatred for the Cuban people, they're my family and heritage. I only have hatred for those who strangle freedom and democracy, like the Castro brothers.

  • @rm06c You are a fool I have lived there, and I am sorry to lay this on you yankees, but Cuba Loves Castro and when he dies you will be dissapointed because there will be no uprising only tears for a great man. This film is pathetic American Propaganda about some spoilt rich Gusano who had two brave brothers and he tried to bed 1 of his brothers wife.Real Fico's Pah !!..Cuba is free from american saturated fat and colesterol, and drugs and gang murders.keep it in Miami.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork

Nice try, but you're wrong. The IRI released a study that found more than 75% of Cubans want a democratic government and more than 90% want economic change.

I have also been in Cuba and spent time with my family there and they've all told me (in private for fear of the CDR) that only when the Castro brothers will change finally happen because they will never let go of their murderous, drug fueled, tyrannical hold of power in Cuba.

    Try again.

  • @SOCIALISTnetwork brain washed! lol Mejor que acer gusano que come mierda!

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

The country of Cuba has always been and will always be an independent one.

But after the deaths of the Castro brothers and the death of their regime, Cuba will gain something even more valuable than all the precious metals in the world.

They will finally have their freedom. They will finally be able to speak their minds, to work their bodies, and to nourish their intellect how they see fit. The phantasm of communism will no longer haunt them.

  • Is not your falt to be an US citizen. You may think this way, because all of yours really believe that fidel is a "demon". You're a north american. And the demon, I think, have another name...

  • @Rahhsccp

Fidel is no demon. What he does and represents is evil, but he is only a dictator and a thug.

His actions are evil because he has restricted man's intellect through censorship, has made the people poor through dictatorial rule, subjects them to cruelty for the mere act of thinking.

Fidel beats his drum and force-marches everyone back to the "glory" days when bigots would burn a man who would bring enlightenment to the people.

That has yet to occur in North America.

  • Comment removed

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

I have heard the Mexico-Cuba parallel argument before. Mexican government suffers from deep corruption, much like the Cuban government. However, Mexicans are not forbidden from traveling to the US; Cubans are. Mexicans can find good jobs with education; Cuban doctors regularly turn to driving cabs to make money.

Most Mexicans come to the US for economic reasons; most Cubans come to the US for political AND economic reasons.

  • @ciilantro you say "Socialism/communism does'nt work,proven fact."

you are indeed wise. Every place in the world where socialism and communism have been tried has lead to failure and poverty.

Right now the 3rd world is lifting itself out of poverty by following basic market principles.

The problem is that socialism encourages people to be lazy whilst free-markets encourage people to be the best they can be.

Just look at us in the west and our dreadful benefits systems.

  • @kbdkbd99 Shut up you prick , you refer to 3rd world countries as backward..remember what you said to that guy from jordan..? You fucking Bigot.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL it's clear that you use the word bigot when you are unable to argue intellectually with someone.

The truth hurts - and the truth that Che used homphobic and racist language hurts you alot.

Was che a bigot for using homophobic and racist language ? Yes he was.

Haha you've been caught out so bad. I love this.

  • @kbdkbd99 you are a bigot, just like you googled che,if I google kbdkbd99 and look at your comments ( the ones you have not deleted from yesterday) it's all there for the world to see. So what's it to be, che and you are bigots on the strength of google?

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL a typical lefty - when he loses the argument he starts coming up with personal insults.

I have removed no comments at all - yet on the other hand I noticed that you had removed comments.

Try to stick with the argument at hand if you have the intellect for it.

Many posters here have shown that marxism and socialism has a track record of failure.

    You don't like the facts.

  • @kbdkbd99 Typical typical typical.See thats you all over you typify and pigeon hole everyone.I notice an argument, a lad who has an anti fascist channel and you siad " obviously you must have studied at a cheap university x polytechnic"...You really are something of a conceited wanker arn't you.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL when a left loses the argument he resorts to personal attacks.

I've challenged you 5 times now to deny that Che Guerava wrote homophobic and racist comments.

    You are so busted.

  • @kbdkbd99 I think not.You really need to get laid or summin.

    Your getting hysterical now.

I have answered your question and you will no doubt willfully ignore it.

So lets stop pretending you are ever going to admit you are wrong on this.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL when a left loses an argument he resorts to personal attacks.

It's a shame that you support people who make racist and homophobic statements.

    Shame on you.

  • @kbdkbd99 yeah say it enough times and you might believe it yourself.Because when right wingers shout loud enough ..It makes them right.

  • Andy Garcia is a true Cubano and now a true patriotic American, he loves his country and its heritage. I love this man, his acting and directing skills are extraordinary and a very humble individual as well. I tip my hat to you Andy, hope to some day have the fortunate pleasure of meeting and chating with you my Cuban brother...

  • Can anyone tell me what kind of a dance is this at the end???

  • @ellinas3

That dance I believe it to be a free style dance inspired by Cuban music. Mainly a mix of Yoruba and Guguanco. Only a cat like Chocolate Armenteros can execute that dance in such a unique form. He puts a lot of flavor into it and makes it look quite easy I might add. I had the pleasure of meeting Choco numerous times and this cat is a fun individual, humorous and very down to earth. Just like all the Cuban musicians I've met through the years...

  • @Jazzhog

    Thanks for your input.

    Appreciate it!!!

  • @ellinas3

Don't mention it, is my pleasure to share my opinion. After all music is a language that we can all relate to, no matter what race, nationality or religion. Cuban music is very special to me, I grew up listening to it and it runs through my blood. Cheers from the big apple, Jazz

  • Two people are commie bastards.

  • I will restore Cuba to her old days. Cuba Libre. Please let us all fight for Cuban Freedom

  • Cuba was Cuba is and will always be Cuba! With the americans, Russian and Chinese because what makes a country, is the people, not who governs it, the cubans, whether they r in the united states or any corner of this planet . Cuba floats in the Caribbean by itself , with all of it's people. Y yo soy cubana cojones !!!

  • very lovely song by the Cubans.

  • staffiechannel ....you crack me up......and man are you WRONG.....i hope one we can see a free cuba ...the right to sell and say whatever your heart desires.....to be able to eat what to government denies the common folk......isnt it about freedom ? Staffiechannel......this is from a rican who loves cuba and cant wait to be there one day..oh and yes i belong to a tea party....vaya loco

  • Thing is as a socialist who has just come back from Cuba...I hope I wont be like this, reminissing about a Cuba before the American Tea Bagging Racists pull ashore with their colesterol, and teen obesity and Fox news..Oh dont forget your Fox News because that is the hallmark of FREEDOM dont you commies know that.

  • My heart goes out to all the real Ficos who have left their beloved motherland not due to money matters or for a change but out of neccessity...My heart goes out to all these exiles and I hope one day you will be able to rebuild your beautiful country!

Cheers to a free and democratic Cuba

  • @indonippon Yes,cono like my family,we left because my father was imprisoned by the communists for wanting a better future for Cuba. Now a days the so call exiles are coming here to EAT and defend the one that represses Cuba,Fidel Castro.

  • @indonippon ¡AMEN!

  • great movie n lovely ending.Kudos to Andy Garcia for this great movie.I do not know why some people did not like it.This movie had me crying especially towards the end when andy's character recites his poem he had written and tells how just like cuba,Aurora the love of his life is also unattainable..Moving,I think people who have problems with this movie being from a rich cuban's angle are commies or socialists because if it was from a peasent' angle, they would not have any trouble digesting it.

  • @indonippon theviya pulla inga ena panre anga un pondati vera oruthan kuda matter panitu irukura ada poi paru po.....

  • Comment removed

  • @indonippon If it was from a peasant's angle under castro they would have nothing to digest. At least as peasants under Batista they at least had food, medical care and a life.

  • CUBAAAAA LINDAAAAA DE MI VIDAA <3 <3 <3

  • CUBAAAAA LINDAAAAA <3 <3 <3

  • QH MY BEAUTIFULL CUBA LINDA,, THANKS....

  • Lindo filme , linda musica. Interpretação emocionante de Andy.

  • I left Cuba many years ago and I could visit the island with the blessing of the US government. I will not do it because I am not going to give dollars to the totalitarian regime that has destroyed my country so they can continue enslaving the Cuban people. The dollars tourist take to Cuba only benefits the Castro mafia.

  • I think Americans would prefer to see Cuba now....Especially Miami Cubans.

There is a more righteous way of life there, the way of life that many of our older generations always hark back on.A spirit of community. Im sorry I am gonna say it: It will be a sad day when American Cargo ships pullup to unload their Cholesterol and Heart Disease on every street corner.kids wont be playing baseball instead they will be drinking caffeine drinks and playing video games.Cuba is beautiful!

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

Amen to that. Amen to that.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL i'd rather see them doing that than starving.

  • @Beccalotte1021 Well they are not starving.Instead of indulging in films like this and 1950's U.S Newsreels why don't you go to Cuba and see for yourself...Just a thought.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL No you're so right. Thats why young girls sell their bodies to tourists to make a couple american dollars so they can feed themselves. Thats perfectly fine. you idiot all the people live in fear of saying something bad about the conditions they live in for fear of 10-15 in prison. You find it romantic that this country is living in the past but find it completely satisfactory to disregard the lack of personal freedoms and the disregard of human rights that they must withstand

  • Respond to this video... To the cuban person, Cuba is a prison. And im sorry but i wouldnt go there if you paid me to contribute to the leech that is their communist government. I have enough family there dying to leave. When will people learn that communism is one big paradox. It sounds pretty but in action, it never works. The so called revolutionaries become worse than the "mobsters" they claim to overthrow. While Fidel's children are off living it up in France, the people starve.

  • Respond to this video...And by the way maybe you should watch a more modern news reel or two so you could know that the "libreta" in Cuba has been cut off. I'd like to see every uneducated idiot go to Cuba. Not as a tourist with the privilege that comes to all those bearing American dollars but with Cuban citizenship and see how lovely a time they have.

  • I just came back from Cuba and judging by alot of the anti Cuba comments on here you obviously havent been and only just take the opinion of the American media.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL if andy's movie was american propaganda, then why it took some twenty years to make it real? almost everyone in USA who had any influence on this was against this movie as much as possible.. he is hero that he managed to make the movie real over so many obstacles that were laid in front of him

  • @serafimdali This film could have been so much more.Visually its excellent but the story line is contrived and pretencious right from the begining. It shows Cuba through the eyes of a rich family, and you'd be forgiven for thinking that the revolution was all a fuss over nothing. No starving peasants and not one scene of brutality on Batista's part ..Such a contrast from the 1979 film with sean connery that tried to get as many angles as possible. This is a brilliant scene at the end though.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL you are right. but this is one man's view/story and i think it is just perfect. it was the view that was missing. and there does not have to be explicit suffering to tell they were aware of the problems of the poor. i believe there were enough indications that they understood there are problems but they just did not see the revolution as a solution. that is what the movie says except else. i think there was some comment of the family that the people on the streets....

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL ... do not know what bastards will take control of their freedom when they do it. this is something that was proved many times, we in czech republic experienced it too. the revolutions are almost always victims of people's evil, bestiality and naivity with which the people on the street think... i myself have had very same feelings as andy in the movie and witnessed the same behavior, it is still the same human story and you dont often see the view of the intelligent ones..

  • @serafimdali Intelligent..You mean the Rich fuckers who did well out of the U.S sponsored regime that were gonna get some pay back from the poor so they fucked off out just like Batiste did.Its no coincidence that of all those that left Cuba after the revolution many of them were Non Black.Being given the right to free education and healthcare in 1959 was a lot better than fleeing to a nation just 90 miles away that still had White only beaches and toilets...

  • @serafimdali even worse in Romania, right after the revolution

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

For many of us, whether of Cuban descent or directly from Cuba, we cannot see that beautiful country. For we reside in America, whose supposedly generous soul does not permit us to visit that Caribbean island we all so yearn to see. For my father, and his parents, they cannot set foot on their homeland. Banished from Cuba when he was barely eight years old, my father and his family went to live in Spain, then to America. They haven't seen Cuba since.

    That was 42 years ago.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

American media doesn't matter anymore. The anti-Cuba comments come from one and many. They are against Cuba because of the communism, just like they were against Russia.

Cuba isn't Cuba any more - not when fellow Cubans cry over her and curse Fidel Castro...not when Cubans, shunned from their home and taking refuge in America, can't see their home again in peace.

We haven't been, because Cuba can't take us back until she is free. We can only remember and pray for her.

  • @Pianowoman13 Your right america doesnt matter anymore,China has become so deeply rooted in Cuba that in 10 years the Embargo will mean nothing.

The Revolution in Cuba has become part of the islands heritage now, and even if the regime falls there is one thing that Cubans cherish and will not relinquish and that's their independance. If americans and indeed old cubans think that they are all of a sudden gonna fly over and buy up everything there WILL be violence.Anyway china are in cuba now.

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

The old Cubans - all Cubans - know that Cuba will never be the beautiful country she once was. But, just as Americans know what it is to be free - or knew, for that matter - the Cubans will know what it is to be free. If the regime were ever to fall, American Cubans know they can't just swoop back onto their homeland, but they will cry and rejoice nevertheless - for the freedom of their motherland. For the freedom of their souls.

  • @Pianowoman13 have you been there recently, it is still a beautiful island.Poverty stricken yes, but no more than jamaica is but we dont put jamaicas poverty down to its polotics. I was there last month and it seems to be changing, I am seeing a lot of construction going on.And Cubans can go back now thanks to Obama and they do to visit family. You have to ask why is it legal for U.S citizens to go backpacking across Iran but they cant visit Cuba? What dont they want you to see?

  • @THESTAFFIECHANNEL

I haven't been able to see the island. I don't think my father, or his parents, will ever set foot on her shoreline unless Fidel Castro is to fall. *shrugs* Yes, the island may still be beautiful, but it's not just the island itself that constitutes Cuba's beauty. It is the culture and everything else that contributes to her splendor.

No kidding. It seems that, yet again, U.S. citizens are kept in the dark.

  • @Pianowoman13 Whatever the Government.cuba has they have done well to preserve Cuba's Golden Age..I can confirm as a socialist westerner that the Island's entertainment resembles this video 100%..They are very intouch with their past...I sometimes think they are fed up with singing Guantanamera every day .Theyt like Hip Hop and Rock more...But they need the money. Lift the fucking blockade it serves no purpose!!!

  • @cubatena
