a zebra can be domesticated but this way of domestication is cruel. look at the bridle that guy uses. why doesn't he use a way of natural horsemanship? he was talking about trust and thats what natural horsemanship means.
Um, no, it's not. Many respected Western riders (and riders in other cultures) post, and there's nothing wrong with it. I posted when I rode Western, and now I post English, and I plan to post whatever friggin saddle's under my butt.
@SkyCabin6 Okay. I know that people ride however they want. But I'm just saying that I've never seen a person post in Western-I've posted when riding Western unconsciously myself since I mainly ride English and ride Western less often :)
In all the videos I have seen of zebras being ridden none of them showed the zebra responding to neck reining. Can zebras not learn to respond to neck reining or has it simply not been taught to them yet?
the zebra looks happy to go for a ride. The zebra probually thinks hes a horse. He acts like one. I have a donkey who thinks she's a horse. She tries to race them and loves to go for rides if a light person is riding her. Good zebra!!!! Excellent training!!!!!
I am all for zebras being wild but..... after watching a few video's and such, I think I am okay with it. They are beautiful animals, so special. We ride mustangs who are considered "wild" and zorses, so why not? As long as the zebras like it and are okay with, this one really seems to be, than I think it is alright. Don't say "poor thing", the zebra looks really happy, there are normal horses that are more "poor" than this zebra. He is lucky, and adorable !! ^.^
I think Zebra domestication is great. I don't understand when people are all like zebras are wild animals and should stay that way! well your pet dog was a wild wolf once? Same with your cat and horse. There is nothing wrong with domestication in ensures the future of the animal.

Not only should Zebras be kept wild they have really weak backs compared to horses and their backs will collapse if there's too much weight on them, they are also bad tempered animals.
My friend has a Zebra, they love it, and I do too. It is 3 years old and was bought when she was 1 year old. She was raised around horses and ponys so she acts like a horse, well. I ride it every once in a while, but she only likes to be riden when there are horses leading the way. She doesnt like to be riden when there are no horses, donkeys or ponys around. She gallops and trots just like any other horse. and i would like to in the future get one. she is very tame and loves to be around people
I wouldnt think that, i mean, zebras are beautiful, but remember that they are in danger of extincion. if we domesticate, (which we already have) it will ensure their future. Just like the horse, donkey, ass, pony,ZEBRAS, can also me riden and trained. I find it extremely awesome that they're finally doing it more often. In the future, buying a zebra, will be like buying a horse, that will make sure they stay for us forever.
Is he that strong that you need to use the last slot on the liverpool bit? I know they are "opinionated" little buggers, you did very well training him.
But some zebras are already born among humans at a start, and if they were to be released into the wild after years with humans, they would DIE, because they would not know how to react over a lion attack and hunger. So I find this cool, theyve made the domesticated zebra´s life more fun....
Well, I'm sorry, but this Zebra is not really enjoying being with people... I think it's cruel!

zebras have got a different spine than horses. They should not be ridden, this WILL lead to serious health problems.
