it took almost no time for that vette to gain traction & start pulling away with authority. this was no competition. A Camero would have been a little slower than the vette but it too would have pull away hard. I myself have owned a 95 Mustang, Gt 95 Lt1corvette & a 00 TA & can tell you that unless you put a lot of work into them an old 5.0 mustang is no threat.

i am in to my fox for about 9k( 5 k on the motor) and is a street driven 11 sec car. Now the 99 vette is priced around 19-30k. so u FAIL on that point. A 5.0 is the best bang for the buck, But i still love my 95 vette.

One of the reasons ford can sell them cheap. Not many people know this. Cheap POS.
i've owned 3 foxes and the weight on a gt hatchback is around 3100 lx coupes go less than that. a corvette like that weights around 3300 I think. that mustang launches good and he didn't get beat too bad unless he's got a lot of mods, keep up the good work stang bangers!
The Vette winning by a little bit is nothing impressive because it's curb weight is 3150 lbs compared to the the Mustangs curb weight of 3920 lbs. Stock vette hp = 345, stock 5.0 hp = 225. Sorry to say but GM isn't anything to brag about and this video proves it.
That year of Vette sold for about $40,000, not really triple the cost of a Mustang of the same generation (triple the cost of a fox body, if that's what you mean... but you couldn't possibly compare a stock fox body to a stock C5 vette)

Your also forgetting driver errors. The vette probably didnt launch to capacity, not only that you can see the snow on the sides of the road indication the temperature. The vette has performance tires which only works best at higher ground/tire temps.

Ford uses a POS unibody space frame (very cheap) that flexes like a bitch, and has to have a ton of stabilizer bars. The same style frame you would find in any cheap economy car. One of the reasons ford can sell them cheap. Not many people know this. Cheap POS.

Damn you guys are forgetting an important factor in all this.. Corvettes are more aerodynamic. Which gives them the advantage in most cases....

i've owned 3 foxes and the weight on a gt hatchback is around 3100 lx coupes go less than that. a corvette like that weights around 3300 I think. that mustang launches good and he didn't get beat too bad unless he's got a lot of mods, keep up the good work stang bangers!

The Vette winning by a little bit is nothing impressive because it's curb weight is 3150 lbs compared to the the Mustangs curb weight of 3920 lbs. Stock vette hp = 345, stock 5.0 hp = 225. Sorry to say but GM isn't anything to brag about and this video proves it.

That year of Vette sold for about $40,000, not really triple the cost of a Mustang of the same generation (triple the cost of a fox body, if that's what you mean... but you couldn't possibly compare a stock fox body to a stock C5 vette)

Triples? Unless youre talking about a used 1990 gt vs the price of a used 1998 vette thats the only way it triples. go check out the prices of the gt500 and you can see a mustang can cost more than a vette.

Your comment is old and incorrect. These stangs are in the 3400lbs range. converts around 100lbs more. Coupes around lbs lighter. You are referring to the new Shelby GT500. Those are tanks

Im not even going to look up the weight but a foxbody mustang does not weigh 3920lbs and the vette doesnt weigh 3150 unless its a Z06 or stripped down. Also from the sounds of the mustang its modded, I could be wrong though.

Your also forgetting driver errors. The vette probably didnt launch to capacity, not only that you can see the snow on the sides of the road indication the temperature. The vette has performance tires which only works best at higher ground/tire temps.
