@bodioto Your theory makes no sense at all ?? Spider is a dominant trait both heterozygous and homozygous look the same "spider" but one holds more genetic power, making your "normal" het. actually a "spider" since there is no such thing as a het for spider. Technically the heterozygous form is the spider and the homozygous form is actually a "super" spider, with very little if any change in appearance. I think you need to learn a little more before you correct of which you do not know.
I have a question. I have never owned a snake before so this might sound absolutely stupid.. Why is there blood inside the eggs? Or is it even blood? Totally confused right at the moment..
Isn't the one spider the one that you said was a bee for sure? I just had a pastel to spider clutch and my bee looks like the four light headed ones, bees dont typically have dark heads like the one you said was a bee. It looks just like my spider
well thats just retarded, why the hell would you cut it so early though? sounds like you were just to impatient, if they egg tooth doesnt develop then thats bad genetic, and shouldnt breed it anyways, you opened them at 48 days? depending on how hot you had them, and even then the least time is AROUND 50 days up to 65 days, thats just stupid. its not good ethics and shouldnt be practiced, sorry i wouldnt buy any snake you were sellin if thats your practice
Is it normal to cut lizard eggs in general, or is it only snake eggs you cut?
Sorry if it's a dumb question, but my friends bearded dragon had 28 eggs a few weeks ago, and since it's his first time having eggs, I'm trying to gather information c:
That bedding might work on your burms but I would really try a perlite and vermiculate mix with 1:1 water mix. If you squeeze a handful no water should come out! This could be why your having so many problems with your ball eggs. Try switching a clutch in your next season and I will check the video to see how you make out!
@chris4me123 This is a 1:1 water mix with straight vermiculite. I am aware of the perlite/vermiculite type mixture, and it is already something I've considered for next season instead of the "vermiculite only" mix. I understand the perlite helps with drainage and density. As I said, yes, it is already something I've considered prior to your comment. I will probably either try that mix, or use hatch rite next time. Thanks for your input.
@MsLiew1901 Most babies can do it themselves, but occasionally you can have a totally healthy baby that failed to develop it's "egg tooth". When this happens, it is unable to cut the egg itself and it will be trapped in the egg and die due to drowning.
heyyy im wonering how do u know when to cut the egg cuzzz i had 1 spier that dies cuzz it drownded so i wnna know o it wont happen the nxt time i breed my snakes and also i hatched 3 spiders 10 normals an 4 pastlsand i dont know how i got th bestel i brreeed a normal and a spider balls and i got 4 pastel wit the other 13 snakes
@pimp4586 Cutting the eggs is a judgement call. It's based on the overall external condition of the egg primarily. It is usually beneficial to let them go to at least day 53, but if you see an egg that looks like it is deteriorating quickly it can be beneficial to cut it a bit earlier, but not much. These numbers I'm giving you are not an exact science and can vary from clutch to clutch, and the numbers are also based on an incubation temperature of 89-90 degrees fareinheit
@jxz107 Thanks Henry I have three that should be out of the egg sometime tonight or by tommorrow. Three are actively coming halfway out of the egg, then going back in.
it looks to me that they are all bumblebees. now that would be unbelievable odds but we wont know till they are out of their eggs. ether way it's a wonderful clutch. all spiders would be great but all bumblebees would be even better. you must update on them. great video.
@ethan42westall One is for sure a spider ethan, I have already confirmed that as of a day or two ago. The color has filled in and one is for sure a spider. The rest look like bees.
@HermitCatMan Mitch, are you mad at me or something? As far as the first comment you made I don't consider myself the king of anything, I am sharing the latest things going on here with my clutches. I find it funny you come back here to make sure your insulting comment was still here. Obviously you expected it to be removed hahahah. Do you need a hug? hahhahah
@albinoburm - Not mad at all. I came back to see what you responded with, only to find you removed it. And since when is my making fun of you anything new? ;p
thats cool nice odds sorry about ur mojave and ur top left egg looks like it has alot of yolk left is it possible his/her umbilicle or how ever u speel it is twisted??? i hope they all make it and good luck
@JOEY69993 The umbillicus is fine, that particular egg was cut early due to the fact I wan't like the way it was looking externally. That egg I cut on day 49. If you look at it again in the video, compared to the other eggs, you will see a lot of browning on the exterior. This snake I believe will be fine. It will just take some time to emerge due to the fact it was cut so early.
Brandon sorry to hear about the het pied clutch. Huge congrats on your first BP clutch. I see 3 BBs for sure, one spider and the one egg u cut early I'm not too sure... well I'll be happy with just one BB. Those are great odds! Congrats!
@Playballp Thanks Diego. I looked at them tonight and I have a much clearer picture of what I have. Joshua Buchwald was correct in his observation. I have four bumble bees and one spider. After just a day after cutting the color has filled in much more and that one is in fact an obvious spider.
it looks like 4 bees one spider pos mojavi spider good luck with the little one the one in the bottom left corner of the video has to much pattern on the head thats why i said one spider pos mojavi spider
@JPreptiles1 Thanks, I actually have four bees and one spider. As far as anything being a mojave spider that is not possible, because the female was a pastel and the three different males that bred her were mojave, spider and another pastel. It is not possible for two males to fertilize the same egg, only the same clutch. I would have to breed a mojave to a spider for a chance at getting a mojave spider
The very top left egg looks like it may be drying out... as compared to the eggs surrounding it... But huge congrats!! You got some killer odds on that one! Can't wait to see more pics/video when they are all out man!
@DJSlurp1200 Steven that very top left egg was one of the crappy eggs I cut a bit premature because of the fact it looked crappy. The baby is the "runt". So far it is still alive and will probably be just fine, but a runt.
@rallisonreptiles Sorry to hear that. I only cut the two eggs that looked done on day 49 to see what was in them, assuming both were gone, but fortunately, one was alive and is a bumble bee.
It's a little difficult to say for sure, but I'd say there is a good chance that all of those babies are bumble bees. Let's put it this way, I'd beeeeeee surprised if they weren't. Sorry I just couldn't help myself.
Congrats man! looks like all the babies are bee except for the third egg, the one that u said was 100% a bee is definitely a spider. but looks like 4 bees and 1 spider! awesome clutch!
@joshua12buchwald You win the prize Josh, hahahah, a day after cutting the color has filled in much more, and the one you said was a spider definitely is, good call. The rest are bees.
@albinoburm hehe i was close, the other 5% was the spider :P very nice clutch ive never heard of anything like that very very very lucky man. enjoy the bumblebee's
Man u definately need to make some more precise cuts. Those cuts look like a 4 year old took a pair of old scissors and went to town on those eggs
thereptilemaster 2 weeks ago
Could have yourself a Homozygous form of the spider there ! That would be awesome :)
This means spider to normal makes theoretically all spiders !! Good job man !
jazskater007 4 weeks ago
@jazskater007 not necessarily because the normal may be heterozygous Xx and the spider must be homozygous xx so its 50% chance of getting a spider.
