how come when i change anything in the tables file like the weapons variables after I save the file and load up the game the game wont load it says that its out of space on something i cant remember. id actually like to have this in my game. I have a modified tables.vpp file ro remove the geomod limit and have the rocket launcher and fusion launcher make bigger holes but I downloaded my tables.vpp file from someone who modded theirs.

yeah I agree on that. I think all newer games should have geo mod and not just RF but volition owns the geo mod and I guess they wont license it to other companies but I think they should.

very true but id like to see more game engines that do this, especially in games like GTA. and the other nig I must haVe been doing this too much b/c my game crashed. I have the unlimited geo mod thingy and an edited tables.vpp file.

Set the remote charges to 100 and then use it on the first single player levels. Then you can see how the level was built. It's really frightening.

you get the vppbuilder and open the tables.vpp with it look for the weapons.tbl extract it open th extracted one with note pad edit what you want then save it remove the origonal the one in the vpp builder then click add and pick the one you extracted then save and open up red faction an have fun

Neither, really. There's a third option on the main menu (might be in a sub menu, I can't remember) for "glass house". It loads up this room.

interesting, if you leave the settings at original, you could not remove the ammount of wall you destroyed with the nuke, (at least on my system) once you mine away enough area, it refuses to destroy any more, and everything (exept glass) become indestructable.

wonder if its because its able to define the larger areas with less pollys, so you can remove huge chunks with less system load.

you think thats something? i made the grenade's velocity a few numbers higher and put teh crater size to 1000. basically one grenade blows up the whole map XD

haha, that's neat too. I did that too (but with the pistol). I set the velocity and firespeed so that I shot out a thousand rounds in 2 seconds, and all the bullets hit instantly.

If your asking about modding the game so that the pistol creates craters (and other such modifications) it's actually very easy.

But it's abit of an explanation, so I'll refer you to this site: http://www.redfactionview.net/­forum/index.php?showtopic=154

signup to view it and poke around there a while. That's where I learned, and it should only take you an hour or so to become quite proficient (and you can just follow a couple of Flame's tutorias to get what I did working an ten minutes).

That's the 'Glasshouse' level. Under the main menu go to 'extras' and then 'glasshouse'. It's a nice little room to play around with the geomod.
