Cool setup.....and I understand that it's not permanent installation, however you should always do professional wiring as good practice, that way when you DO install it permanently, you have a good grasp on wiring it professionally.

Hey there, I have a ptz just like this one but it's a colour im having trouble with it. it will tilt up/down, zoom in/out and it will focus but it will not pan I have no idea how to fix it
I'm looking to install about 2 or 3 PTZ cameras around my house. My house is a rectangle and so 1 camera in the backyard and 1 in the front yard, both at the corners of the house. And 1 or 2 b/w or color box cameras for my front doors and/or garage. Where could I get a system that fits my budget? I'm 13 years old, but already have a camera system at my other house. A lorex bullet camera color, and 2 radio shack cams I got for christmas.
@samc726 well that depends sam whats your budget ?? you do realize that PTZ cameras are much more expensive than regular cameras and require a greater knowledge of the CCTV industry you have to know about dip switches RS-485 and command protocal and so on it also requires more cabling that a regular camera it also requires either a ptz controller or a dvr with ptz control abilities......

@samc726 do NOT buy PTZ cameras on ebay the ones from china are absolute crap and used ones only have a limited life left on them because they use whats called a slip ring thats what enables it to pan 360 degrees endlessly those wear out so its best to just buy a new ptz cameras but NOT from ebay
I woul like to buy a speed dome from ebay but I see all those so called SONY or SHARP "super" ccd producing very poor images, with colours washed and lost details... May be they are chinese clones?

Im interested in the sony ptz cams , having few on top if a 2 story house. Looking for vandal resistant housings. Just curious
@ivanbrewski my neighbors keep complaining that im looking thru there windows with my ptz cameras i have a ptz camera in my back yard that is about 18 feet in the air and its like the espirit so you can see where its pointed and they think its pointed at their master bedroom when really its pointed at my shed so ya.... some neighbors love it and ask me for footage to see if i can see who doorbell ditched them or toilet papered them i now have 24 cameras obsessive ...... maybe

You wpuld love the cctv system i've created! Using American Dynamics PTZ Speed domes and all of my recording equipment. Most of my equipment was bought on ebay for about $2,000 dollars. Give me a shout, i'll you know my set up.

@tylerlavite I will soon make a vid, i'm taking exams at collage right now. You know how that goes, so to answer one of your question about my DVR is a Clover that has a 160 gig hard drive and it had 4 channel video out, i connected a 16 channel multiplexer from Robot that i connected one channel video out from the clover dvr to the mux and it displays eight cameras on one screen, then with the mux or multiplexer on another monitor. I use all 18 inch LCD screens to view the cameras.
@tylerlavite The Clover DVR that i got also has a web server in it, so i can view all cameras connected to it. I designed multiple ports on a internet port switch to add more cameras to the server as needed. I go to college for Computer Electronics and network Technology. So i like to make things more complex with the CCTV cameras systems. If you ever need any advice or tips or have questions, if you ever decide to go to network aspect of security. i recently aqquried a samsung 16 channel dvr and i put a 320 gig hard drive in it
i have 16 cameras with room for 4 more i have a multiplexer on on channel
