At 0:48 the husband looks very concerned when he sees the bills for his wife's purchase... no wonder he needs three terminals to keep tracks of her shopping spree... at the end he probably sends a message to the store manager asking to stop giving credit...
Huh. I've seen a lot of these "home of the future" things, and this is the first one that turned out to actually be semi-accurate.
But I find it especially amazing how all the functions of the different machines they showcase here can now quite readily be handled by a single device; the modern home computer.
I know my laptop is everything: Internet, gaming, DVD and television. I don't really need anything else.
From what I understand, the husband is played by Wink Martindale, former game show host. Thought-provoking, isn't it? But it's not the only futuristic device from the late 60's to appear decades later. Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek, developed the communicator for the show, which is your basic Nextel, complete with beeping, chirping and GPS. Decades before Nextel even existed. Makes you wonder.
