Over the last several years I've been considering buying a Harley Davidson Softail model. I'm certainly not averse to other bikes such as the Triumph. In fact, sometimes I find myself wishing the BSA was still being made. Two years ago at the Toronto Auto show I got the chance to sit on one of the Triumph Reissue bikes sporting the same type of saddle shown on the T100 in this video clip. It was the most uncomfortable saddle I've ever felt. It's awful!! Wouldn't last five minutes one it.
Nice bike. There's on one display at the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Museum here in Birmingham, AL - the eighth wonder of the world if you are into vintage bikes and Lotus race cars. I have a 2006 T-100 in tangerine and cream and love riding it. It really turns the heads. Not sure if I would ride the 50th anniversary model if I had one. Wouldn't want to depreciate its value. But, I would be sorely tempted. I've seen one or two for sale here in the states both in the $10,000-11,000 range.
Except for the tank, that's a very nice representation of the old Bonnie. I like that they added the gators to the fork, very retro like the smooth seat.
I'm starting to think I might just keep mine as well now (maybe buy a used one later to keep & ride and keep this one in unused condition). Glad you enjoy your Bonnie (there's a Facebook group for these bikes now).
I would hold on to it man. It's an investment. Wait until a few of them have either been wrecked or sold to permanent owners. Then you'll get a better price for it!
Is your local dealer selling their bike? If they have a sell price, it might help me to determine a fair selling price for mine. Sorry for the vague answer but it's hard to know what these bikes are currently worth.
Sure, for the right price (hard to tell what price that is atm since they've just been released recently through Triumph dealers and most (if not all) of them have probably been sold by now - or are in bike collections and are not for sale).
my 2009 Triumph Bonneville would be straight out Black and chrome ! but whoever owns this beautiful bike is a lucky dude
