i can tell your on the last stage o taming your hamster i am guessing well i have a hamster that bites me alot unless i take it out of it's cage and after he passes away we are going to get a teddy bear hamster. I'm going to tame him so he knows me better. :)

how did you teach the hamster to use to potty

@Amanda307723 Hamsters usually pee in one certain corner. Find out what corner, clean it up with a solution of 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water. Then you can place a small 'potty' with hamster potty litter in that corner. They should go right in it, dig a little and pee. It's quite simple to do.

@reginehou Thanks, he loves all the animals. You should see him with the yellow bellied sliders I have - "Oh I love you so much, Tucker" - that's what he says as he is petting him in a wading pool. I just find it very important to teach kids about respecting animals and always being caring and gentle.

@AnimalGalaxy Wow, Sandyman and Mocha passed awhile back. I have a video of Sandyman - a sort of tribute of his life. Toby is just growing, being sweeter than ever, still cute, and I have to cut his hair because the poor thing was 'cursed' with stringy hair that mats very badly. It's ok though, he loves his new 'doo'.

That was very sweet. What a good idea about the dry tub. That little boy was SOOOO well behaved. Bless his little heart, it looked like it was killing him not to pick up Toby. He did so well. I was really glad when you told him he could pick up Toby. He handled him so well. I liked 'Grandma's sickness'. I think it is genetic/hereditary. I got it from my Daddy, who got it from his Daddy. UH - no - it's just another little 'play area' . He can't escape and has more room to run around and play. We need to give these little critters a variety, not just in their cage all the time, or their roll about ball. The tub is perfect as they can't climb out of it.
