  • If I ever see your ass filming in Eugene I'm gonna get in your shots and mess with you lol.

  • i left eugene on 12.18.1999 and i live in germany now...i must admit it's hard not to cry seeing all thiese vidios on how my home town, where i lived and loved, just collapsing. it breaks my heart!

  • @rivi67 dont worry we are fine, this guy is some wierdo.

  • Somew of you are saying the tough times are over & happy days are coming .

You're wrong ,the reason why the stock market is up is ONL;Y because of the massive amounts of money the US Govt. is spending .This will lead to hyperinflation and the ruin of the USA as we know it .

  • Good video. Thanks again. Plz keep us updated

  • This is just silly. While I appreciate the effort, none of this really tells you anything about the economy. Just like going to a different corner where all the businesses were open wouldn't prove the economy was good, this doesn't prove the economy is bad. Perhaps rather than simply spouting off what you feel like the economy is doing, you should look it up.

  • When the Republicans get back in, will they bring the draft back? If anyone can do it it's them.We do need the oil, the high price of gas started the recession. People could no longer afford to drive their SUV's back and forth to work. SUV's remember them? They bankrupted GM Government Motors and the banks. But good news. The government stands ot make 7 BILLION dollars on Citibank stock. 7 billion PROFIT!

  • This is April 2010. You need to watch the Nightly Business Report or read the Wall Street Journal. Job loss has stopped, and auto sales are up 40% We've had bad times before, and things will get better. Razor wire? What kind of neighborhood are you in? Some of these stores are just overbuilt strip malls. Hollywood videos are obsolete. Check the stock charts everything is up..up..up!

  • @intercityrailpal The reason why the stock market is going up is because of the massive amount of money the US govt. is spending .Not because of the typical buying & selling that make up successful business okay . Things are bad and they're going to get MUCH worse !

  • Oak patch I'd by far the worst place in Eugene

  • Love these videos! please keep making them! I moved out of Eugene, OR in 2008 due to economic concerns. I wish you well and hope Eugene can turn it around, it's a great place to live!

  • wonder ..

if you are on unemployment long enough

if you can get unemployment pension benifits....

    just a thought ...

  • i have rental properties...as they become vacant i am now renting them by the week instead of by the month..

  • the habitat for humanity is a re-store..they resell used building materials, paint, windows, used ac units...its the Goodwill hardware store of sorts...

  • It don't look good!

  • Wow. Hard hitting stuff. We better let the national press know that you are "calling it" a recession. This nation needs him at the helm bad everyone. We need a leader eloquent enough to say things like "this isn't no business" and rail about organizations like Habitat For Humanity. You know what the most shocking thing you discovered is though? Fed-Ex trying to deliver mail to a business that is part of an industry that companies like Netflix are making obsolete. The dollar is going to collapse!

  • Instead of retail , we need businesses that deal in foods, and other basic living necessities.

  • we'll just keep printing money, no prob, we have lots of cotton in the usa to print more dollars... better buy some gold and silver and wait it out, so many will get burned in the stock market.

  • Oregon and California have been hard hit by years of real estate speculation, but Oregon's economic base is more limited than California's and it may suffer more. But unemployment benefits should be extended until the 2012 election or until a recovery starts adding jobs.

  • nice video, sorry about your town struggling, but america as a whole is struggling to....DEFEAT THE NEW WORLD ORDER!!!!!

  • why would any human have a problem with an organization that builds affordable housing for people

  • So what Aaron? You obviously have an agenda. Your little ploy here is very transparent. get over it dude, you and your narrow minded little cronies lost. Whiner!

And yes, Habitat For Humanity helps people when they are down and out.

  • @sirtomgravel Yes Habitat for Humanity does receive Tax Dollars. Not what the economy needs just like I said.

  • The reason there are so many open storefronts is greed. During an economic boom, some wealthy companies or businesspeople built these unnecessary box stores. At the time I am sure that there was businesses that occupied them, but now that we are in a down economy, stores like "The 24 hour Wicker furniture store" are out of business.

That happens dude. Greed created this blight, not the government.

  • @sirtomgravel Thanks for the video, it's very interesting seeing what other state are going threw. Keep up the great work.

  • and to call it a warzone is beyond ridiculous and that so called slip about osama/obama shows who you really are

  • the economic collapse has been going on for years in this area there are no guick fixes and are you telling me you honestly dont know what habitat for humanity is? The empty building with the sign out front for a year u were talking about that company moved to another location.i understand the point u were trying to make i just wish u had dond it in a more coherent way and that u had done some more fact checking

  • Great video Aaron. I like to see whats going on locally around the country.

  • Search for "CIA NEW FIASCO" amazing

  • great job. lets all do one of these and then compile them

  • The problem with Eugene is it has no vision. The anti-growth, anti-business people are in charge and nobody wants to set up shop in Eugene even if they can afford it. Another issue that plagues Eugene are the idiotic store's that open that will surely go Kaput in a matter of months.. Example.. the 10,000 car dealerships in Eugene, the 5 million Matress stores (yes I am being slightly hyperbolic but you see my point.) Eugene needs to reach out and solicit business, give incentives, TRY HARDER.

  • Forward this video to Mayor Kitty Piercy and other members of city council.

  • Steve I don't care if you do everyone needs to see the bad news sometime. My videos arent sugar coated. Kitty Piercy is totally at fault and what is not her fault is the Clintons the Bushs and the Osamas I mean Obamas. O man its not even funny

  • I have forwarded this video to Mayor Kitty and other city council members. Although we definitely DO NOT agree on many politics I do agree with you on the current state of Eugene. I grew up in Eugene before leaving for Portland and I am very sad to see it sliding so far into a depression.

  • Well thanks. I took a walk tonight in downtown Eugene looking into the windows of every small restaurant to find no seats taken in any. I just wonder if theirs any small business owner in Eugene that could honestly say business is good.

  • cant wait to hang with you this summer bro!

  • Awsome you will love the Oregon coast.

  • Razor wire, now that's aggressive. We all know that the Government is lying to us. A Depression is defined by either 10% unemployment or 3 years of zero or negative growth. Even the currently employed should be scared shitless about unemployment running out. When people have nothing left to lose, they lose it. Good News is tax revenue is way down, the state & local governments are getting their asses handed to them. I expect a lot of cities to declare bankruptcy in 2010 maybe even a state.

  • You have to try real hard to find good news lately.

  • Not really, I was terrified of the NWO for a couple of months when I first heard about it, but after I learned that our Fractional Reserve Banking System is a huge fraud and Fiat money is also a huge fraud, I now laugh at the banksters, they are going down big time. Depressions are not just a transfer of weath, they also reveal which ideas are bad and gets rid of them. Good news is everywhere when you realize that Freedom is going to win:)

  • It's amazing how the general public is waking up so quick. At least 4 times a week I run into someone talking about the true problems and not focusing on the left or right puppet show. Hell, even the neighbors walking down the road engage in talks about the Federal reserve system who I never thought would.

  • Yeah I just bookmarked an article that said that during the good times, media & govt & school system worked to create the low information voter, but since 9/08, the economic crisis and the internet, is rapidly creating the 2009/2010 high information voters that our politicians will soon be dealing with. I think in ten months before the 2010 elections, Congress will be shocked to discover the rapid transformation in political & economic education by the American voter, I plan on making waves:)

  • alex jones

  • Yes the Environmentalist in the 80's began the collapse for Oregon's Industry

  • Thanks Aaron

Yes , I remember that razor wire on the porch video from a year ago

Many empty businesses here leave their signs up so you have to look into the windows to see that the building is empty

  • Not much has changed. The street level visual collapse has slowed but still moving along.

  • We have to much retail space in the US. We will NEVER fill all the available business spaces again. Maybe we can move all the immigrants into the vacant retail spaces?

You think it's bad there take a trip to Michigan. I live 5 miles north of Detroit and we're probably going to have riots come this summer or next. As soon as the unemployment runs out they are going to riot. The city is officially at 25%+ unemployment + the normal 25% of people collecting ssi we are around 50% in the city!

  • 50% that sounds about right or more when you add children and elders

  • @adb024

Yep, 50% of working age. Add in children and elderly and I have no idea. The city of Detroit relied on automotive for 90% of it decent paying jobs. Those are all going away and these people have NO education and barley passed high school.(Detroit has the worse schools in the nation) So I don't know what they are going to do, I guess it will be like the robo-cop movies down their.
