For those who want to find a chopper that's a transition from concentric to single rotor, and like the Blade MSR, check out the Nine Eagles Solo Pro. It's got similar flying characteristics, and is about half the price. Parts are also cheaper. Save the money for the next step which will be either a larger fixed pitch or even a 3D.
Yup best indoor heli ever for a mini ...good for ya .i started with that now i have a 450 pro and a 500 trex..its addictive for sure...next is a sim for ya ..then step up to the bigger deals lol good luck to ya
Your video has sold it!!! I'm going to get one of these little beauties.
Would the MSR be too complex for a complete beginner? I've quite good coordination but have never tried to fly one of these. Any help would be much appreciated
It really depends on how you are. This was my first heli, but i am blessed with good piloting skills. my first plane was a hobbyzone super cub lp. then i moved on after one month to a fullly acrobatic 3d airplane. i was never taught by a proffesional. so go for it if ur not scared to crash. once you get it trimmed out well it is fairly stable. just remember to use small inputs at a time.
if it tends to drift to the left then the giro will try to correct it by giving some tail input hence the pulsing buzzing sound from the tail rotor, sometimes you need to adjust the trim during the first 3-4 mins of flight to compensate voltage loss in flight
my blade msr does twitch a little too on the tail, mostly when its drifting in hover or dead stick, i think its normal so dont worry, if that not help call the support line there helpfull. :)
oh i forgot to mention too, check the blades and screws are not too tight the blades should swing freely but shouldent move much up and down and try to adjust them evenly or that might cause some wobble, also check thers no hair or any fluff caught in the tail rotor or in the head mechanics and check the head sections and screws arnt slack, be carfull not to over tighten those they should be just lightly tightend and firmly closed,
and check theres no bends in the main shaft, hope this helps :)
I'm really really thinking of getting one of these. My mcx got too painfully slow to fly, and I mastered about everything it could do. spot landings, mineuvers everything. I sold it because it was just soooo painfully slow. How much of a jump is it from a coaxial heli to that one? i'm figuring probably same as far as stability but then correcting would be needed after giving it som direction, as apposed to the mcx which corrects itself?
this has the almost stability of the mcx but has way faster pitch so be ready to compensate with oposit throw, on hover it acts like the mcx, just the msr can really rip up the sky and with 3 levels of pitch control you cant really go wrong,
on stock its set up on medium throw so i would recomend clicking the stick to activate low rate and when you get used to it you can try the stock med rate then adjust the swash links for agressive flight to really rip it around athough only try that outside
i found the msr REALLY twitchy compared to the EXTREME stability of the MCX... it handles ALOT better, Far more Responsive, And If FAR more capable at manuvering then the mcx..
your first couple flights remember to chop the throttle.. once you get the hang of it, the things a DREAM
as a beginner on a single rotor this is perfect! Larger helicopters usually brake with a single crash, whereas, this thing is much more forgiving! Take it slow, learn slowly and don't go to fast and you will be ok. If you have never flown a helicopter EVER, I would recommend you start with an mCX then move up to a mSR.
It is a really nice little helicopter isn't it? Just wait till you get a little more confident with it; you can really make this thing fly FAST! It is a lot of fun! happy flying!
I JUST GOT ONE OF THESE BEASTS AND IT IS RLY FUN!

The4 batt charger is great.

i think your trim might not be set right
if it tends to drift to the left then the giro will try to correct it by giving some tail input hence the pulsing buzzing sound from the tail rotor, sometimes you need to adjust the trim during the first 3-4 mins of flight to compensate voltage loss in flight

if its twitching a lot then it might be a bad tail motor.
