  • I think a explosive hook punch to jaw is about as effective as the elbow in close range.

  • @rmattyp Elbows kill more people in Muay Thai than hooks do in boxing.

  • Looking at Paul V, and not knowing what he can do; I'd think 'I can take him' ...Heh-heh! WRONG !! He seems a teensy bit psycho, not evil, just a guy who doesn't lose a lot of sleep if he ends up cold conking a 250 lb road rage bully. He is actually very smart

  • Well said! :)

  • Im a Muay thai champ at 165 and he is very good but he needs more balance in those elbows more control little better form and the force and trauma from that elbow will be a knockout just one, Learn Muay Thai, it is the de facto for striking, Stand up fighting, the best stand up martial art!

  • ya right this guy would destroy you in like three seconds. you would wake up on the ground wondering what the hell happened to your face

  • Yeah honestly i doubt that and im not just saying that, being a muay thai champ i am afraid of no one and all i said was he needs to improve his elbow technique. now as for you mother fucker ill put you on your back in less than a second you fucking youtube wannabe tough guy/girl i dont even know what the fuck you are. if your a girl then you have no fucking idea what your talking about so learn it before you open your mouth.

You dont know anything about it in yet all of you open your mouths like your pros, if there is one thing i know well its muay thai and i have better elbows than this guy i bet you faggots haven't even been in a contact fight before. So stop getting your self esteem up you lazy fat fucks. be a champ first

  • Hahahahahaha!!! Von Helmut just walks in and gets worked.

  • who is Von Helmut ?

  • vunaks stuff works on black belts with ease

  • he's fast

  • Out of all the martial arts clips I've watched on youtube. This one just may be my favorite. Padded elbows... motorcycle helmet.... I needed a good laugh. Not that the demonstartion is bad because elbows are powerful. I've just never seen it demonstrated quite like this.

  • lol.. feel sorry 4 dude.. lol

  • aha

  • lol. Hey come in here for a second

    *elbow elbow*

    Alright go back

  • vunak is definately one of my favorite martial artists

  • Helmet or not, I reckon that looks painful.

  • 8 Tools: 2 legs, 2 knees, 2 elbows and 2 fists!

  • you forgot the head and the hips ;)

  • LOL

  • these are the muay thai 8 tools yes. But PFS has a different list of 8 tools including ear slap, elbow strikes, eye-jab etc, a bit diffferent.

  • @hellasjeetkunedo

    dont forget your head ;)

  • @hellasjeetkunedo

    ...and 1 head! :)

  • @hellasjeetkunedo + 1 head

  • @hellasjeetkunedo dont forget the head

  • Somebody please explain to me what the "eight tools" are. You seem like intellegent and perseptive people, so maybe you can help me out.

  • 8 Tools: 2 legs, 2 knees, 2 elbows and 2 fists!

  • fuckin´funny @ 1.20min how he beats the human dummy...

  • paul vunak is a student of dan inosanto

  • cont'd-but the FMA, actually is not to be considered as sport but as combat it's application was used in actual combat in phil history against spaniards/americans,the japanese in WWII but due to its confidentiality i can not give current examples..movie versions:jet li, steven seagal(akido/fma combo)undersiege 1 with tommy lee jones, the hunted- tommy lee jones vs. benicio del toro, matt damon as jason bourne in all of his fights in bourne identity/supremacy/ultimatum...

  • bruce lee was influenced on filipino martial arts (FMA)by dan inosanto (his student and co-founder of jkd)dan introduced to him the weapons of fma -like nunchaku,arnis,etc-bruce owes to FMA because of the progressive system he formed jkd.The good thing with FMA is that you are trained to use weapons first then empty hand last but the techniques and application of weapons is similar to that of empty hand coz the hand is the extension of the weapon...cont'd

  • bruce lee also said that dont make a plan of biting... thats a good way to lose your teach... if your grappeling and get clinched and not able to get out bit the guy in the arm... are we not animals

  • JKD is scientific inquiry on what works...not hearsays from gurus, right?

It only hearsay if you are an idiot. If your instructor doenst train live then dont take JKD from him.

  • "make it your own" Bruce Lee

"Dry land swimming" bruce coined this phrase specifically for people who dont fight full contact.

The point from vu is thinking outside the box. I recently rolled with a blue belt that had never rolled with gouges or fish hooks or ball grabs. When i showed him a thumb goguge he said "yeah but my eye was closed." I have semi live students that would literally murder him and hes been training live for 3 0r 4 years!!

  • PS. Im a terrible grappler and ive schooled a guy who was second in state with biting and gouging. Ive tapped bjj blue and brown belts by grabbing ther balls.Having good delivery is very important and i take BJJ lessons sometimes. But i know for a fact most grapplers are not murders. They dont train to haves someone who wants to rip their ears balls and eyes off. My needs have been met from semi live and live JKD. From PFS instructors.

    "learn from your experiance"

    Bruce LEE

  • The thing is, someone that does BJJ is just as capable of "biting" and "grabbing balls" as anyone else. But he has some seriously good grappling to go with it.

  • so true. when you grab a BJJ in his groin, thats the end of his chapter.

  • LOL XD. I agree, by my own experience y can tell you that no-one, and I mean NO-ONE wants to loose his balls, and would prefer to loose the fight. Unless, of course, is a life-or-death fight and he desides to live.

  • vu sparred full contact for years. Rolled with gracies .

of course people that prgress to fully live training are better then people that dont. Semi live to live. Boxers do it with mit work and bag work then sparring. Muay thai fighters also. no different if you are a real JKD guy. bag work, mitts thai pads then sparring semi live.then if you have the balls go live!!

  • yeah, teaching violence and presenting it in a way that encourages street fights is the best way to make the world better.

  • this makes it a bit funner for me. =D lol. the better the people know how to fight the more funner and more challenging the ass kicking ill be giving them.

  • so true... lol

  • When did Paul say, "you can use this against your friends and foes at bars and on the street!"?

  • read the description and watch "Paul Vunak - Street Safe Intro" it's the intro to this. but hey whatever smash your faces on the pavement why do i care.

  • so so so true dotchoo! wise!!! like a cute smiling g=face muder. lol. wait!... thts scary.. =S i'm scaried... T_T

  • Dotchoo you stupid goddamned piece of shit.

Most people that train in martial arts find they need to lead a disciplined lifestyle in order to advance properly- this causes them to embrace a long list of positive behaviors. Little emo men in pink shirts that clean the house for their wife so they don't get spanked when she gets home may not comprehend how that works so I guess I understand your perspective dotchoo. :-)

  • you understand that perspective? then u must be the lil guy cuz i'm a she, u dumbass.

anyway i obviously got u more than just a bit irritated-where's the self-control mumbo jumbo now jackie chan?

  • I've been to Dan Inosanto & Richard Bustillo seminars many times, have almost all of Paul's tapes, and have worked out with JKD concepts folks. In my experience, their understanding of aliveness is a bit different. Don't take my word for it...try out training directly with advanced MMA fighters, or BJJ folks, kickboxers, wrestlers, for 6 mos to 1 year, and then assess. JKD is scientific inquiry on what works...not hearsays from gurus, right?

  • Have any of you wrestled with a purple to black belt BJJ guy and simulate a bite? Just give it a try and see if it's easy or hard to pull of. Spar with a pro boxer (have him wear something to protect his eyes)--spar and try and eye jab. See if you can pull it off.

  • Each tool for each occasion. If I am fighting a boxer and he KNOWS that I can defend myself, AND if he is expecting me to attack, then I probably won't start the attack with an eye jab. UNLESS, I had the motor meachics to pull it off smoothly like Sifu Paul.

  • Seriously, give it a try. For the most part, folks who train alive (boxers, wrestlers, BJJ) are very nice people who will adapt to a reasonable level of safe resistance/pressure. You don't have to wait in an "if", or "unless"--try it out yourself. It's fun way to test what works & is a great work out.

  • Did you know that Vunak and mostly JKD intructors use the "aliveness" training method like the BJJ guys? Let me tell you genious, Vunak and Bruce Lee NEVER said that something will work without practice, they gave that idea to the public a long time before the BJJ became famous. Yes, an eye jab and a bite probably wont work without live practice, but the thing is that this guys really train like the BJJ and boxers (of course, using something to protect eyes aqnd that)

  • I worked with Vu back in the 80s,before training with Guru Dan.

  • Dan is the guru, but nobody in the world teaches better practical JKD and FMA than Uncle Paul. Sifu is the best!!! end of story.

  • Hey Skitz,

Voo is my sifu too. I am under his top instructor in England.

  • whats your real name

  • Voo is my Sifu. You think his video tapes are good. You should train with him in person. I am going to train with him next weekend.

  • Paul Vunak is just pure class and he is the real deal.
