Man, I start surfing in 1989.....I'm living im Brazil and my spot is Guarujá (tombo's beach) and that time we dont have acsses to media, only magazines.

When i see Ronnie burns for the first time, i think..."this Gy is real spirit of Surf"......

So he pss the way in 1990, but he still in my mind until the day die....

the 80s were the days Gascon33! Pre-rodeo flip, it was all about going fast and carving. "Floaters" were about as radical as folks got save for the occasional un-landed air. But a roundhouse cutback after the barrel is still what its all about to me..

I think Ronnie was the best at pipe. If he were still around he would have gotten even better if that were possible..His style was like a polished version of the hawaiian style of surfing, paying homage to Gerry Lopez and those before him but finding new lines at the same time..Im in agreement with Gascon33 about the 80's, the pre-rodeo flip days when going fast and carving were what mattered most...
