So far none of the Night World books have been optioned for film, but her series The Vampire Diaries has been optioned for TV, and a pilot episode has already been filmed. We'll find out in a week or so whether the CW will pick it up for its fall line-up. It's exciting!

There is no release date yet for Strange Fate, as Lisa is still working on finishing it (over 1000 pages!). She disappeared for 10 years because of some very painful family matters, but we are glad that she is well now and back to writing amazing stories. :)

She didn't finish writing the original Strange Fate because of a series of family emergencies that left her unable to focus on writing. She's been gone for about 10 years, but she is back to writing and dedicated to making the new Strange Fate even better than what was originally penned. It wasn't cut from the series, it was just put on hold.

No word yet as to whether Strange Fate will be the last Night World book. Lisa is still writing it, and she has said that she thinks it will be over 1000 pages! Hopefully it will be out in late 2009/ early 2010, but we won't know until the book is completed and edited. I'll update when I know!

I'm hoping that Simon & Schuster will allow Lisa to release the book as a two-parter. So far it sounds like a no, though. Either way she deserves success with this series. With all of the hype from Twilight, this genre is getting a LOT of attention. And with the House of Night writers having optioned their rights to a production company (either for TV or a movie, I'm not sure which), who knows? I would love to see any of Lisa's stories as a film!!

I believe that Lisa is aiming for a summer/fall 2009 release. The rest of the Night World series is gradually being re-released now, and she is currently finishing up Strange Fate. It's either going to be an epic 500+ pages in a single book, or 500+ pages spread across two books. I'm personally hoping for two books! :)
