@ellimist6 This "law" spoken of in Psalm 19:7 is referring to the whole scriptures taken together in context, and that by reading the Holy Bible and applying its revealed meaning, the child of God becomes more changed into the man or woman of God that God had intended from before the foundation of the world.
So, in the new testament, which takes precedent over the old, the Holy Ghost teaches only he who is without sin should be the first to pick up a stone to throw... and everyone leaves.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (October 10), this Scripture was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson. It was entitled "God's Law Sustains Us." The hymn, "There's a Wideness in God's Mercy," is a good hymn to sing with this Scripture.
@NatMedMissionary Thank you for giving this scripture for all to see. I goofed up thinking back then that I should pray toward Jerusalem, which is east being here in America, because I wanted to do what Daniel did in his daily practice of praying (Dan 6:10). And so I repent of my statement on the end of this reading. God's children can pray facing in any direction. It is all because of the righteousness of Christ Jesus that our prayers are heard! Praise God!
Wonderful. Amen!

If the law of the lord is perfect does that mean we should stone people like in the OT

Not sure if you know this, but praying to the east is a practice of sun worship Ezekiel 8:15&16.
Blessings.
