One thing that struck me about Morley,when I was there in 1980-81 was there were no older men around,plenty of women my grandmothers age 80 + but no men of that age,it just struck me

St George was a Christian and European,back then all of Turkey was European,that was before the middle east Muslims had taken a hold.Even now when you go to Turkey you can see the difference in the colour of the people in the north and south. We celebrate his life for all the work he done for christians,he was a true martyr.

St George was around 400 years before Islam was invented and Islam was created 700 years after christianity was born.Muslims worship our god but don't like our equal rights

St George was not English nor was he White? His dad was born in Turkey and his mum born in Palestine (meaning he was NOT English)! he was a Roman Christian soldier who did not serve in England... So why are white racist celebrating him (a foreigner)? St George is also the patron saint of Malta, Palestine, Georgia, Moscow, Portugal, Greece to name but a few.

The parade has nothing to do with the BNP. It was not organised by the BNP, but by the Royal Society of St Geroge in Leeds.

What a fantastic parade!

I love the costumes & the fact that the people made the effort to re-enact how their ancestors originally walked those streets hundreds of years ago.

It's how we originated - we need to keep teaching our children our history so they know who they are & how their ancestors lived.
