I have owned mercedes and many other cars. In 2001 bought a 2001 AWD xc70. This is the best car I have ever owned or driven. volvos xc70 will out accelrate most cars. the car is very quiet my xc 70 came with touring seats and I can travel for long periods of time in comfort. The xc does as well on ice and snow as on dry roads. Its now 2009 and I have not had a major problem and I have 214000 mile. THESE ARE GREAT CARS

A Romanian comparison test in the Carpathians between the new XC70 and the new Allroad gave the Volvo the prize, especially that a connection between the radiator and the tank at the Allroad isn't protected in any way, so the team found itself in the mountains with an empty tank.
Just leased one of these Swedish ***-kickers for my wife and our two Australian Shepherds who will miss their 2004 XC70! I'm proud to be Swedish-American!
How about unveiling a transmission that works? (instead of 55-60k miles to failure) How about the throttle module that makes the car surge and slow randomly at all speeds? Some owners have even had the engine just shut off at highway speeds. We have owned 6 Volvo's in the past and the new V70's are the Ford pinto of modern times.

We have a 2001 XC70, I'll never own any other car if Ford keeps building XC70s as well as mine. I ahve owned higher end cars but, these cars handle better on ice snow mud and normal rads better than any high end car I have driven or owned. BUY one!

Amazing car. It is more amazing with diesel engine, that we prefer in Europe.
2.0l diesel, 420nm, 163hp, 4wd - such a good performance, and running costs.
