i paint with watercolours and ink and i use waterproof pens because the fibre absorbs water in place of ink (the pen becomes a semi permeable membrane almost and "osmosis" occurs which can dilute and/or stop the pen from working. when you use a fine liner on fresh watercolour you know about it (colour of ink changes, and the pen becomes pretty much useless) is that what happened to yours? is this the price of using that technique?
