THE WORDS OF JESUS IN RED: MATTHEW 28:19 "GO YE THEREFORE, TEACHING ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY GHOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!" THAT IS WHAT JESUS SAID READ IT, READ 1 JOHN 5:7 "THERE ARE THREE THAT BEAR RECORD IN HEAVEN THE FATHER, THE WORD (CHRIST), AND THE HOLY GHOST" IF YOU BELIEVE IN TAKING JESUS NAME, YOU NEED TO TAKE THOSE TWO VERSES OUT, BUT I WOULDN"T DO THAT IF YOU KNEW WHAT WAS GOOD FOR YOU, READ REVELATION 22 AND FIND THAT OUT.
If you are in a church and it teaches you jesus was born on christmas, and that jesus died on good friday and rose easter sunday, followed by an easter egg hunt.. I would get up and walk out. Almost every church in America are a blasphemy to jesus christ and his teachings. This is the reason false doctrine started, and the reason Christianity are broken up into different sects of beliefs . Because only a prophet of god can interpret scripture correctly, and 95 % of preachers are not prophets
Sorry previous post should say Paul was talkn to the Jews. My prayer to God for Israel is that they might be saved. verse 2 and 3 zeal 4 God but not accordn 2 knowlegde. People are saddenly goin about 2 establish their own righteousness. Paul says if anyone comes preachn any other doctrine let him be accursed. So if Jesus doesn't command baptism then they were all cursed back then for preachn baptism n Jesus' name. I hope you open your case. Submitted w/ love not a sword.
@m8s4lif John didn't think he was worthy to baptize Jesus. So Jesus said suffer 2 b so now for thus it behooves us to fulfill All righteousness. About Rom.10:9, read 10:1 Paul is talkn to the choose. They don't believe Jesus is the Christ. So He's sayn you 1st must confess and believe that I am Him. Ex. If I tell u that I have a million $ 4u come get it and u don't believe me u won't come will u get it ? No theres not 2 diff. salvations. They 1st have 2 believe n Him. Acts2:38 is our salvation
scripture for baptism Matt3:13-16 Jesus' talkn, John 3:3-5 he said watr n spirit, Acts19: 1-6, Rom6:3-5. Can't close God's word. In doin that you're sayn Jesus n all His apostles r liars. He himself said to be baptized n left keys of kingdom to Peter who preached on day of pentecost. Read Acts2:36-42. Matt 28:19 Jesus left this command. I don't think He had alzheimers when he said this. Word says it's hard to kick against the pricks. Igues from John to the rest were just wasting their time.
@10uhcplz1 The Holy Spirit is also referred to as the Holy Ghost. God is a Spirit. And he is Holy. The Holy Spirit is Almighty God. He overshadowed Mary to cause her to become with child. The Father is the Holy Spirit. That child was God manifest in the flesh. The Holy Spirit manifest in the flesh. Our heavenly father manifest in the flesh. The flesh was man. The spirit in that man was God. Also referred to the Spirit of Christ. Who is the Holy Spirit? Its Jesus. That's Gods name.
@10uhcplz1 When someone receives the Holy Ghost, they are receiving what is referred to as Christ in you the hope of glory. God, who is a spirit, Jesus by name, was manifest in the flesh. Why? Because he loved you and did not want you to be lost. He willfully became the sacrifice for your sins. Everything that happened to the man Christ Jesus could be felt by the Spirit that dwelt inside of him. Much the same as your soul feels all the pain that your flesh feels. God loves you very very much.
@m8s4lif Amen to that!!! I agree!!! For God so loved this world....that He gave His only Son.....John 3:16. (and it didn't take Tebow to make that one famous...lol..). I don't think we can ever in these bodies of flesh ever compehend His great love for us. Thanks be unto God and our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
People, if you are baptized and don't use the name of Jesus, then what sacrifice are you having applied to your soul. When the name of Jesus is called upon in baptism, you are having a specific sacrifice applied to you. You are not being baptized in his name if the name is not used. Acts 22:16 Calling on the name of the Lord is what ties your baptism to Christs death.
Acts 6:55-56....But he, (Stephen) being FULL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, looked up steadfastly into Heaven, and SAW THE GLORY OF GOD, and JESUS STANDING on the right hand OF GOD. And said, Behold, I SEE the heavens opened and the SON of MAN STANDING ON THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD. Which manifestation of God is more God than the other in this example? Which one is less than GOD? Note....they are one in three different places. I can't do that...my oneness is confined to just above my shoes. God is not.
@10uhcplz1 The term right hand is a symbolic term that depicts power and authority. You will also see that term used with Gods throne which is heaven. Jesus has all power and authority. What was seen was Jesus. In every manifestation of Jesus, he is himself. He does have all power, that's why it refers to the right hand. Also different manifestations are not different persons. Just as you said about yourself being one person, so is God only one individual. God is not a plurality of persons.
@m8s4lif Ok....I wrote it out for you. There is nothing symbolic about it. You can twist the word all you want to make it say what you need it to. Acts 7:55,..."Jesus standing on the right hand of God." then the second time in verse 56, "and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God." I know there is one God....the bible teaches us that. Let me ask you this,...who is the Holy Spirit?
My friends, please remember. It was Jesus who said that Peter knew who Jesus is. That Peter was given the keys to the kingdom of heaven. That Jesus said that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name [The name of Jesus] beginning at Jerusalem. And in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost, it was Peter that preached repentance and remission of sins in the name of Jesus. Acts 2:38
@m8s4lif Was? He's still alive!!!! He is my High Priest...He ever liveth and intercedes for us at the right hand of The Father. Heb. 7:25. He is able to save them to the uttermost that come to GOD...BY HIM, (JESUS) seeing that He ever liveth to make intercession for them. With the power of the Holy Ghost we can do all things....thru Him and in Him.
The phrase, "name of Jesus" means authority or power. Everything we do should be done in the power and authority of Jesus. In Matthew 28:18 He says, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. He gave us the command to do all that we do in the same power and authority. It's much bigger than a method or formula. We are sent in His auhority and power....we answer to no one but Him and His way. Get past it and do as He commands. The same for preaching, healing, praying,,..etc.
I have one thing to say of it is Father,Son, and HolyGhost. Why are all these songs sung to Jesus, if there is three someone is going to be jealous right??? Jesus is taking all the attention. There is only One Lord One Faith One Baptism One God Jesus Christ.
One God, who is one spirit, who is one Lord, who was manifest in the flesh. And his name is JESUS. The spirit that dwelt inside the body of the man Christ Jesus was the father. What is the name of the Father? What is the name of the Son? What is the name of the Spirit of God? JESUS. And Jesus said to be baptized in the name.
@m8s4lif .....of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Matthew 28: 19. When Jesus was baptized, He came up out of the water, The Spiriit decended upon Him like a dove,....and a voice came from heaven, That was the Father. Three manifestions of one God. Which one was more God than the other?
@10uhcplz1 The Spirit is the Father. Remember that the Holy Ghost was the father of Jesus. That is the same spirit that dwelt inside of the man Christ Jesus. There is only one god. That one god is the spirit that was in Jesus. Also if you want to use the authority or power of Jesus then you must use the name of Jesus. Why do you not want to obey him?
@m8s4lif Who said Im not? I agree totally on using the name of Jesus....that's the way I do it and I'm Baptist. I baptize the way Jesus said do it, and even in every bit of the power and authority He gives and that IS in His Holy Name that I can't get my feeble head around. Everything that I have as a Christian is in Him and thru Him.....praise HIS holy Name. I for one am not having a hard time at all with that.
@m8s4lif I never said there are 3 different Gods. The bible is very clear on that, Jesus, The Word of God made that very clear. I'm sure you've studied that. The only way we can be connected to God is thru Christ.
@10uhcplz1 Then have you been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. Do you believe that the one God is made up of only one Lord . God is not three individual persons. The one God of heaven is one individual. If I was mistaken for for thinking that you believed in the trinity and believed in baptism in the titles instead of his name, then please forgive me for my mistake. You must use the name in order to use the authority and power of his name.
@m8s4lif The bible plainly teaches 3 manifestations of one God. There are plenty of examples of God being three different persons or roles yet still being one God. He is Lord how ever He chooses to manifest Himself to us in His word or otherwise. I am a person, an individual....there is not another of me. I am a (1) father, (2)a son, and as God created me, (3)a soul or spirit. Am I three different people? No. I can never be The Father, The Son, or The Holy Spirit. He Is One!
@m8s4lif So as long as I say the name I'm good to go? Well I think it goes a little deeper than that. He's already given us power and authority to do whatever is the will of the Father. Thru the power of the Holy Spirit we can do all things. I don't have to ask the government if I can preach, pray, study the word, evangelize,..etc. He's already told me that I can. The use of His power is not dependent on what I say or how I say it. It's not in the method. You're hung up on very shallow ground.
@10uhcplz1 Also, if you want his blood applied to you, then you have to be baptized in his name. It doesn't say "in his name be baptized" You have to call upon his name in baptism, just like Saul of Tarsus did. Peter got it right on the day of Pentecost. When you are baptized in his name, you are baptized unto his death.
@m8s4lif No where in the bible does it teach that baptizm is to be done for salvation. We are saved by grace thru faith....it is not done thru ANY work of the flesh. I trust completely in the finished work of JESUS Christ on the cross to saved me. I confessed Him with my mouth and believed in my heart that GOD raised Him from the dead. ..and I was saved, I still am, and forever will be. Romans 10:9,10. No act of water baptizm ever saved anybody. It's nothing but the blood. Case closed.
@m8s4lif Well I will be doing that. I plan on studying the word the rest of my life. I am settled on what I believe and am ready to stand for it....and I'm sure you are as well. There is this one thing that we both can agree on and that is this...Jesus saves!!!
Did you get that? OBSERVE WHATSOEVER I'VE COMMANDED? What did He just command? Maybe you didn't get that....He said to do it and then teach new converts to observe it....What? Whatsoever He commanded......it's not rocket science...lol The title of this sermon is Why Baptize In Jesus Name and the preacher never quotes Jesus and His commands. WOW!!!! I could be wrong....I'll listen again. We have here Jesus words and you deny it. I'm sorry he did allude to it, but then again it is 3m 18s long.
That's right guys get hung up on baptizm. Don't ya'll realize that that is what satan wants. Jesus said in Matt. 28: 18-20....Go, make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit, teach them to OBSERVE WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED. Guys be commision men and stop this foolishness! When are we gonna commit to do what Jesus commands. He never said get in a pile and argue over what I said and let the lost die in ignorance and go to hell. COME ON MEN!!!
Yessir go ahead and hang your hats on acts 2:38 BUT this preacher just like many acts 2:38 preachers that PROACTIVELY emphasize the baptism in their messages, he has yet to EXPLAIN away Matthew 28:19 outside of the normal "SHOW ME ANY OTHER INSTANCES IN THE BIBLE WHERE THEY USED FATHER SON HOLY GHOST" and the FUNNY thing is JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF was giving the GREAT COMMISSION when HE said how to GO OUT, why didn't HE say BAPTIZING ONLY IN JESUS NAME??? But we can't get a STRAIGHT ANSWER concern
@Laplois Jesus said to baptize in the name of the father, son and holy spirit. But non of the disciples did that? They always baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, that's because they knew exactly what He meant. There is only One full God, not 3 God's that make One. Jesus is the Only Lord. There wasn't even the word spirit in the original bible language, it was "breath" Jesus' breath is the Spirit, his spirit.
@babipassion25 "3 God's that make One"? Are you serious? With all due respect, it is fine if you don't know what the Trinity teaches. But if you don't, then maybe you shouldn't be comment on it. You sound like a Jehovah's Witness, because they use the same exact misrepresentation. The Trinity does NOT teach 3 Gods...We teach ONE God, in 3 PERSONS. Please, get the facts straight.
@DerrickH1969 Three persons are DISTINCT yet coexist in unity, and are co-equal, co-eternal and consubstantial. The father isn't the same as the son or the holy spirit, they're seperate. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy spirit. How many Gods did I say in that statement? 3. It's still 3 Gods, even though you say they're really one. Not one God seen AS 3 persons, God IS 3 persons. I actually do know what i'm talking about, I've been studying catholicism and their teachings. God Bless
@babipassion25 Actually, no you don't. Although you do manage to correctly state it in your opening sentence, it is your interpretation of it that is false. It is not 3 "gods", anymore than me, my wife, and my 2 sons are 4 "families". We are distinct persons, but ONE family. It is ridiculous to suggest we are separate families, just as it is ridiculous to say the 3 Persons are 3 "gods". That was a very elementary understanding of the Trinity.
@DerrickH1969 No but you, your wife and your two sons are sepetate people that make up one family. It's really not an elementary understanding. It's the right interpretation, you just don't like it because it makes the Trinity sound like polytheism.(not saying it is) 3 persons yet they make up one God, but each have the title God.
@babipassion25 Thank you so much! You just got the point! Me, my wife, and 2 sons are SEPARATE PEOPLE, yet one family. Exactly! We each share ONE family name. Not separate families. Any of us have equal right to be called "Holland" (our last name) individually, or collectively. No, I've never thought the Trinity sounded polytheistic in the least. Polytheism is like JW doctrine...a big God, and a little one. We just have one. But glad you got the point.
@DerrickH1969 And I threw that little nugget about JW polytheism in there, because I have just learned I still have my JW internet stalker "watching" me. If anybody wants to talk about polytheism, JWs should be the last. I am not accusing you of being polytheistic (I assume you are Oneness?), but neither are Trinitarians, just for the record. We do not teach the separate Persons are separate "Gods".
@babipassion25 And we have drifted from my original intent for writing you. The "elementary understanding" I was referring to, was your claim that it is "3 Gods in 1 God". This is not an attack against you, nor do I question your love for God. But to say that is what we believe is simply false. NO Trinitarian will agree with that. And a person with understanding of the subject, would not say it.
@babipassion25 You also stated that Jesus is the only Lord. So do you deny that the Father is also Lord, or do you just deny that the Father and Son are distinct Persons? You have a major problem either way.
@DerrickH1969 I don't have a problem at all. Jesus is the only Lord because He is the Father, the Son and the Holy spirit, they're all the same, not distinct persons. The Father=Jesus... The Son=Jesus... The Holy Spirit=Jesus.
@babipassion25 And yes, you DO have a problem if you maintain this and deny the distinction of Persons. I asked my former Oneness girlfriend to explain to me WHO Jesus prayed to, talked to, and referred to when He stated the "Father is greater than I", and countless other occasions. You have a God Who talks to Himself. How you can deny there are distinct Persons, is much more "mysterious" than a Trinity.
@DerrickH1969 Great points! The bible is full of examples of Jesus talking to the Father and then promising the Holy Spirit to come and help us, guide us to all truth. Examples pilled on top of each other and then these deny that it even exsists. I am reminded of what Jesus said in Matthew 7:21,22, Not everyone that says Lord Lord shall enter into the kingdom. They prophesied, cast out devils, done many wonderful works, in His name. He says in verse 23 "depart from me.... I never knew you."
@DerrickH1969 Derrick....I am watching you. THE JW know what the Trinity dogma states...God the Son is not God the Father is not God the Holy Spirit......
How many gods does that make Derrick? Any three year old can tell me. The Creed of Jesus is the Shema."Hear O Israel..YHWH our God is ONE YHWH....not the Athanasian creed of Popes, Martin Luther, Bennnie Hinn or Derrick or this silly Onesness dogma god.
@JAKEV25 Why, HELLO Jakev! Glad to know you are still with us! Is your watching me supposed to scare me, or something? It doesn't. In fact, I have seen your name quite a bit too. In fact, I was amused just yesterday to see another person I don't even know, correcting you on the VERY SAME misunderstanding of the Trinity that I have had to correct you on many times. I have always said you don't grasp it, so you misquote it...And someone else noticed the same thing. No accident.
@DerrickH1969 Zech 8...‘In those days ten people from all languages and nations will grasp hold of – indeed, grab – the robe of one Jew and say, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”’” 10
Why Derrick?...because YOU don't worship the true God of the Bible. And Derrick...it is all so silly...even though you say you worshipp One God....you worship Three...NONtrinitarians are not stupid derrick....we just don't believe your Greek Metaphysics:)
@JAKEV25 First, I'm not sure that right now you need to be correcting other people's view of God. Second, I assure you I worship no other, than the true God of the Bible. As you know, I have solidly defended my doctrine from the very Bible you talk about. And as for non-trinitarians not being stupid...No, just deceived. To refute a doctrine like the Trinity, they have to distort it, because the TRUE teaching cannot be refuted. And we aren't stupid either, for that matter.
@DerrickH1969 Derrick....there is no basis for refuting your dogma...It is not taught in the bible and Jesus never claimed to be God Almighty. None of Jesus' disciples believed that YHWH himself was walking among them...nor did they believe Jesus was Michael the Archangel.
@DerrickH1969 And no Derrick.....we do not distort your dogma......we just don't believe in your definition of One God.....mainly "one eternal being of God - indivisible, infinite. This one being of God is shared by three co-equal, co-eternal persons, the Father, the Son, and the Spirit"....It is not that we do not UNDERSTAND your confusion....We just refuse to be part and parcel to that confusion...See the difference?
@JAKEV25 Why would that surprise you? I am not prejudiced specifically against JWs, Jakev. I simply don't like ANYBODY using that false argument that we think there are 3 gods. I don't care if it is a JW, a Oneness, or anyone else. People who are ignorant shouldn't be commenting on things they don't know. I have no problem with a person not believing the Trinity, as long as they are honest. If its false, take a Bible and tear it apart. But don't claim it is something it isn't
@JAKEV25 Jakev, we have been over this. You are about the blindest person I have ever seen on this topic. Forget what a 3 year old says...why can't YOU grasp it. There is NO Trinitarian now, or in the past 2,000 years, that believes the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 3 "gods". NONE. But I suppose you and Mr. Stumbled and Fallen Servant know more about our teaching than we do. Ever try to talk to that guy? What a jerk...doesn't like to be asked questions, so I stopped.
@JAKEV25 Jakev, there is not a JW in all my years of dealing with you people, than can write anything about the Trinity without lying about it. Including you. And do you happen to have a copy of Benny Hinn's creed? I would love to see that one. Listen, why don't you go on back to Allexperts and help your friends there? Poor Grunbaum..aka...Daniel Selinski is about to blow a gasket. He tells off just about everybody who writes him anymore. He could use your support.
@DerrickH1969 Derrick.....I am not really an active JW anymore...but I am still a nontrinitarian. Derrick please use your mind. A scribe approached Jesus and asked him the most IMPORTANT command of all.....Jesus' response was the Shema...the creed of all of God's prophets....Why do you declare the Athanasian Creed?
@JAKEV25 Now, that only makes me want to ask you about a thousand questions. Not literally that many, but I would like to hear what brought you to where you are with that, if you don't mind sharing it. I could keep it confidential, if you wish. Would you mind messaging me on Facebook when you get a chance? Not trying to be nosey, but you and I do go back a ways, and I am genuinely interested in why you have rejected some of your JW beliefs.
@thomla7 In 1st Corinth 1:17 when Paul says that Christ sent him to preach and not to baptize, He was speaking of his calling or function in the body of Christ. If you read from verse 1 Paul states who he has baptized, and it is clearly understood he baptized them in the name of Jesus not in his own name. Paul's calling was the preaching of the word, and that was what he was going to do, he had other brothers who baptized those who recieved the word. Read with the understanding
@southernhawke "Read with with the understanding"? What?
What u do not understand is Paul states "CHRIST, CHRIST sent me NOT to baptize" so since it is by Christ authority it does not matter what excuse or what the previous verse u bring.
It also teaches us it is by the PREACHED WORD that people are saved NOT BAPTISM and baptism is NOT preaching or the subject of preaching but JESUS which is HE not "it".
If it was by baptism then u do NOT need FAITH as baptism is something u CAN SEE.
@artcraze How can you say Peter's preaching in Acts was not mandated? I'm not disregarding the great commission but Acts 2:38 is the fulfillment of what Jesus told the disciples. In acts 2:41, they "gladly received his word and were baptized" and 3000 souls were added to the church. If this is describing God's church that the one I want to be a part of.
@cheyocheyo You say that you would rather follow after the teachings of Jesus than the apostles but in 2 Tim 3:16 it says ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God. To not believe in Acts 2:38 says that the apostles were wrong and that the word of God is fallible. So thankful for His word!
Jesus gave the great commission to baptize in the name of the father, son and holy ghost with the promise of the "comforter." The could not Baptize in the name of Jesus because He was not yet glorified. After his death burial and resurrection and after the Holy Ghost fell Peter received the revelation of baptism in the name of Jesus!
@SiMichaelAko actually, according to John, Christ was glorified when he went to the cross (John 12; 17:1). So in conjunction with the synoptic gospels, Christ was already glorified when he gave the command to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And if Mangun is referring to Acts when he speaks about the 4 instances when they were baptized in Jesus name, that doesn't really give a mandate for it. Acts is Descriptive, NOT prescriptive.
do we follow jesus' teachings or peters'? i'd prefer to follow my saviours teachings when he said to be baptised in the name of the father, son, and spirit
@cheyocheyo Don't be blind. Study the Book of Acts. Did peter erred in Acts 2:38? Of Course not. It was the fulfillment of Matthew 28:19 for in the preceeding story of the apostles, after Christ resurreccion, all they preach is believing and receiving Christ (by faith) & repentance and baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus (by works necessary for salvation in Acts 2:38) In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.(James 2:17)
It is fair to note baptism is NOT once found in none of these EPISTLES, NOT ONCE. 2nd Corinthians Phillipians Titus 1st,2nd,3rd John 1st and 2nd Timothy Jude 2nd Peter James 1st and 2nd Thessalonians Philemon Revelation And we are talking about BAPTISM, the claimed NECESSITY for SALVATION or what made them SAVED, where is it What you will find in EVERY EPISTLE is FAITH in reference to JESUS, HALLELUJAH! thomla7 1 sec ago
@thomla7 James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Christians go to church on sunday, do the monthly communion, do a daily prayer, do some fasting once or twice a month, read the bible but the one thing that they neglect is the act of faith and obedience of being baptized even once in the name of Jesus....
@zedrev01 "James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
James was not talking about the FAITH that is SEEN by God in the heart and not by man but the faith that is visible to man which is by works but that does NOT make him JUSTIFIED before God but justified before men.
Luke 18:14, the Publican was JUSTIFIED by believing God can SAVE HIM not like the Pharisee WORKING to be saved, fasting, going to church, communion, baptism.
@thomla7 ...as what the apostles did to the people who heard the gospel at that time. If you are an able bodied man and has heard this act of faith and yet neglect it, there is something wrong in your faith. If you rely on faith alone and no action preceeded then your faith is dead. (James 2:17) ...
U cannot mix the FAITH that comes from the cross and the FAITH that is seen BECAUSE of the cross.
In my years of preaching, i have never met anyone who BELIEVES reject baptism, u guys make this FALSE accusation that people is telling others u do not need baptism.
I baptize believers because they BELIEVE by open CONFESSION that Jesus SAVED THEM not baptizing for JESUS to save them.
He that believeth and is baptized is SAVED but he that BELIEVETH NOT is WHAT?
@thomla7... What baptism to God means? 1 Peter 3:21- and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the removal of dirt from the body but the PLEDGE of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
@zedrev01 "1 Peter 3:21- and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also"
So based on that, tell me, if Peter was talking that WATER will save you,
DO U GET BAPTIZED EVERYDAY TO REMAIN SAVED? if not then your DOCTRINE is FALSE!!!
DID GOD ALLOW SALVATION BE DEPENDENT ON THE AVAILABILITY of WATER and a UPC BAPTIZER? which was dependent on the FINISHED WORK of CHRIST by the CROSS.
1Peter 1:23 Born again by the WORD of God, Noah was saved by the ARK not WATER and that ARK is JESUS for us
@thomla7 Read the book of Acts and no where in those passage will you see people being baptized in the name of the Faher, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. All were baptized in the name of Jesus after repentance. (Acts 2:38) Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
@zedrev01 "Nobody was baptized in the name of the Father Son and H.G in Acts"
Well u show anyone being baptized in that ONE NAME as the baptizer is immersing the believer in the water.
Acts 2:38 Peter was PREACHING not BAPTIZING. Now in V41 Then they that gladly RECEIVED his word WERE baptized. They were NOT baptized to BELIEVE the WORD.
1Corth.1:17 Christ sent me NOT to baptize but PREACH the WORD.
@zedrev01 "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
Why are u quoting this scripture? it goes against your DOCTRINE because it clearly shows SALVATION is found ONLY in JESUS, in HIM not IT as in baptism, that's why it says no other NAME not no other RITUAL or CEREMONY.
Baptism is a RITUAL, a CEREMONY like communion, do u actually eat his flesh, drink his blood? So all SYMBOLIC.
I may be dumb but what about when Jesus commands his disciples to go forth and baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit? I am sincerely asking this, this is not hate mail so please do not respond to me with hate.
@francanarsie Jesus said in Mat 28:19 "baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." None of the above mentioned tiles are actual names. Jesus is the name. That is why in the same story in Luke 24:46-48 Jesus says "repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name". Peter gives us the complete answer in Acts 2:38-39 on the Day of Pentecost when the people asked him, "what must we do to be saved?" He says, "Repent, and be baptised in Jesus name."
@MrGregHack Peter also preached to another groups of Jews in Acts 3, however, this time he didn't command them to repent and be baptized, but to repent and to convert so that their sins may be blotted out. If we are to accept the Oneness view, then Peter must have had it wrong the second time around.
Also, the Jews in Acts 2:37 did not asked what mich we do to be saved.
@TheLayman316 I apologise for that one. I mixed up the question asked in Acts 2 w/ the one asked in Acts 16. They asked, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" after believing they had killed their Messiah and Peter responds with his statement. No one in the NT was baptised "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" they were baptised "in the name of Jesus" (Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 19:5, Acts 22:16)
Does anyone think any of these people give a crap about SCRIPTURE!!!!!!
THINK AGAIN, you better find some water so the BAPTIZER can save you NOT JESUS saving you but the BAPTIZER who takes the place of JESUS and water taking the place of the HOLY GHOST.
1Corth 6:11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and BY THE SPIRIT OF OUR GOD.
Most Oness Pentacostals and Trinitarians come together in Dispensational Eschatology both believe modern day Jews and Israel are the chosen people, chosen nation of God.
Baptizing in the three titles is like baptizing someone and saying ' in the name of God'. In other words it has no meaning what so ever. What God ? What father ? What son? What Holy Spirit? What God? Pagans have all this also!!
@MrMyself48 AMEN!!! Everything in word or deed!!! If you sign a deed with "My mother's son/daughter" or "Father of my child" that deed is not worth the paper it's written on! It has to have the NAME on it to be legal!!!
I believe this whole heartedly! There is only ONE GOD and JESUS is His name!!! GLORY!!!
Colossians 3:17 says WHATSOEVER you do in word or deed do all in the Name of Jesus Christ.
Now if baptism is a deed, and it is, it should be done in the Name of Jesus Christ.
There isn't 2 or 3 persons in the Godhead. There is only Jesus. He is God, He is the Son, He is the Holy Ghost. Preaching anything else is trying to put Him in a box. It can't be done! He's too BIG for the Box!!! He's GOD!!!
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9.Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 ... Now where does it say anything about water baptism? Water baptism should be done, I agree, but it is not essential to salvation. If it was dependent upon our being baptized, then you are, in essence, saying that Christ's shed blood is not enough to save. John 3:16 "that whosoever BELIEVES on Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
@JakeFrierson TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!! their teaching shows Jesus blood is NOT enough to save, so u better find some water and i always ask this question.
Do they get baptized EVERYDAY for sins to be washed away?
@thomla7 once your baptized in Jesus name your washed in the blood so if you do sin you can ask for forgiveness and he will give it to you BC the sin goes under the blood and Jesus forgets about it
@powerellis 1. There isn't one verse that teaches the actual formula that was spoken over a person while they were being baptized. So you can't anyone was baptized in Jesus name.
2. Baptism doesn't wash away sins. The blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. 1 Jn 1:7b ". . . and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." And Acts 15:9b ". . . purifying their hearts by faith."
Therefore your post is merely a religious belief and not a biblical truth.
@powerellis 1Corth 6:11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and BY THE SPIRIT OF OUR GOD.
Titus 3:5 Not by WORKS of righteousness which we have done, but according to HIS MERCY he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing OF THE HOLY GHOST.
Acts1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the HOLY GHOST.
@ freddie8245 the plan of salvation was given LOOOONG before Jesus ever died on the cross. That is how people in the Old Testament were declared righteous. "Abraham BELIEVED God and it was accounted to him for righteousness." nowhere in the old testament does a single person get baptized that I am aware of. Because salvation is based on your FAITH in the blood of the sacrifice. Old testament, bull, goats, etc... New testament, JESUS CHRIST. "For by grace are ye saved through FAITH; and that no
@JakeFrierson Gentiles who wanted to follow Judaism were baptised in the Old Testament. Baptism took on new significance after the death and resurrection of Christ.
@allaboutsouls let me ask you something. What do we float around in for 9 months before we exit our mothers womb. WATER!! Jesus told Nicodemus that unless a man is born AGAIN, (natural birth first, then of the spirit) he cannot be saved. Also, please explain to me why Jesus told the thief on the cross that "THIS DAY you shall be with me in paradise" I don't recall any record of him being baptized. Also why did Paul say, "Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel, lest the cross of
@JakeFrierson except a man be born of the water and the spirit you need both. the plan of salvation was given after the death burial and resurrection of jesus before that jesus said he had power on earth to forgive sin what is the first message given by the disciples that heard the words of jesus and walked with him did they lie when they said repent and be baptized in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the holy ghost
@JakeFrierson Jesus had not yet died or risen again when he spoke to the thief on the cross therefore His blood had not been shed for the remission of sins. So that example is not valid. The message preached by Peter on the Day of Pentecost after the death and resurrection of Jesus to a crowd hungry for salvation (see Acts 2:37-38) is what we need to look at. Also, Jesus had already been baptised (John 1) prior to giving the illustration to Nicodemus in John 3. Use Bible to explain Bible.
@MrGregHack You're wrong. Jesus gave up His spirit before the thief died. Therefore the thief died under the new covenant. read carefully....
Heb 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
By means of His death was Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant. I suugest you read the context of this passage.
@TheLayman316 So if Jesus never rose again there would still be a new covenant? Yes, Jesus is the Mediator because of His death but the new covenant would not exist without the resurrection. Surely you must believe that? Also, I do not understand how you can deny the necessity of baptism with so much evidence (Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5, 22:16, Rom 6:1-8, Col 2:8-14, Gal 3:27-29, Mat 28:19, Mark 16: 15-18). And the clincher, read 1 Peter 3:18-22 and explain to me what the Apostle meant by that
@MrGregHack Before we dive in a bunch of unrelated verses lets deal with Heb 9:15 first. What does the verse literally say?
Heb 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
By what "means" is Christ the Mediator of the new covenant?
"FOR THE redemption . . under the first covenant..for eternal inheritance.
@TheLayman316 I already replied to that point. The thief on the cross was under the first covenant, we are under the NEW covenant. Secondly, do not disregard those scriptures as merely unrelated. Those scriptures listed above build a very strong foundation for the necessity of baptism. I have responded to your critiques now show me the same courtesy, explain to me what the Apostle meant when he wrote 1 Peter 3:18-22.
@MrGregHack "The thief on the cross was under the first covenant"
Heb 9:15 he is the mediator of the N.T, that by MEANS of DEATH
V17For a testament is of FORCE AFTER men are DEAD:
So who died first Jesus or the theif?
The Jews wanted their legs broken to bring death quicker.
John 19:32Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. 33But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was DEAD ALREADY.
@thomla7 So you are saying the new covenant came into existence at the moment of Jesus's death? Then explain to me the necessity of the Resurrection? By your logic those who did not believe on Christ while He was in the grave, and happened to die that weekend thinking He was just another man, before He rose again, were not 'born again'. Hell, Death, and the Grave were not conquered until Jesus rose again. What is the purpose of being 'born again'? Conquering death and reigning with Christ.
@thomla7 Yes but the author wrote his statement in Hebrews 9 with both the crucifixion and the resurrection in mind. So you believe Jesus didn't need to rise again?
@thomla7 So what about my previous example, noticed you skipped over that one too, so I'll post it again:
"By your logic those who did not believe on Christ while He was in the grave, and happened to die that weekend thinking He was just another man, before He rose again, were not 'born again'."
Yes the new covenant came into existence when Christ died for our sins but the death didn't mean anything until the RESURRECTION! The writer of Hebrews 9 knew about both when he wrote this passage.
@thomla7 You obviously have no understanding of our theology. Read something on Oneness Pentecostalism by a Oneness Pentecostal before you ask silly questions like this.
@MrGregHack "You obviously have no understanding of our theology. Read something on Oneness Pentecostalism by a Oneness Pentecostal before you ask silly questions like this"
Again did you get BAPTIZED TODAY for your sins to be remitted?
If not then your a FALSE TEACHER.
As a matter of fact if anyone who gets BAPTIZED in JESUS NAME and does not get to heaven then you and others who teach this are LIARS because you are not GOD.
WOULD GOD ALLOW SALVATION TO BE DEPENDENT on the AVAILABILITY of WATER?
@thomla7 I'm not the one that said that bro, that was a quotation from Peter preaching in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost. You obviously have problems with scripture, not with me.
@MrGregHack "I'm not the one that said that bro, that was a quotation from Peter preaching in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost. You obviously have problems with scripture, not with me."
So you blame Peter? Lol
1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, BY THE WORD of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
@MrGregHack Peter do not THINK nor TEACH your doctrine he DENOUNCED it.
Circumsicion, baptism is a person performing a act upon another
Acts 15:7 that the Gentiles by my mouth should HEAR the WORD of the gospel, and BELIEVE. 8And God, which KNOWETH the HEARTS, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost
V10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a YOKE upon the neck of the disciples,
V11But we believe that through the GRACE of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be SAVED, even as they.
@thomla7 He is talking about circumcision in that passage, not baptism. I gave you two scriptures where Perter made emphatic statements about baptism: Acts 2:38-39 and 1 Peter 3:18-22
Paul said in Col 2 that baptism actually replaced circumcision. Just like circumcision was a sign of a Jew entering into covenant w/ the Lord in the OT, baptism is a sign of a believer entering into covenant w/ the Lod in the NT. Pretty simple.
Yes he was and circumcision is a ceremony or ritual just as baptism but the point is what was his ANSWER
8And God, which knoweth the HEARTS, giving them the Holy Ghost; 9and them, PURIFYING their hearts by FAITH. 10Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a YOKE upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11But we believe that through the GRACE of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be SAVED.
@thomla7 No that is not the point. First, you cannot just insert baptism in there along with circumcision. Sorry, that is reading your beliefs into the text. Second, ask yourself why they are having the meeting in Jerusalem in the first place.
The reason they were meeting is because Gentiles were being baptised and filled with the Spirit along with Jews (Acts 8:12-17, Acts 8:27-38, Acts 10:44-48) and the Jews wanted them to be circumcised like them. The Gentiles were already believers.
Your confused man, baptism cannot be the means of salvation and be a sign so it is a SYMBOL or SIGN which means it's just JUSTFIFCATION between man and man but NOT justification between MAN and GOD because GOD sees the heart NOT man.
Like i said, if anyone get baptized in JESUS NAME and does not go to heaven then either you're a LIAR, or GOD, PERIOD.
@thomla7 It is part of the salvation process. You do not get baptised in Jesus name until you have first repented and have faith in Christ. So baptism is part of the process. Like I have said three times now people do not just show up to Church and get baptised.
By the way, it is a symbol of what is REALLY happening - their sins are remitted (Acts 2:38), they are buried and rise w/ Christ (Rom 6:1-8, Col 2:8-14) and they put on Christ (Gal 3:27-29). So it is necessary for salvation.
@MrGregHack " a symbol of what is REALLY happening - their sins are remitted (Acts 2:38), they are buried and rise w/ Christ (Rom 6:1-8, Col 2:8-14) and they put on Christ (Gal 3:27-29). So it is necessary for salvation"
Now did you do this TODAY, if NOT, your still in your SINS, YOU ARE NOT buried and is risen with Christ and did NOT PUT ON Christ.
YOU HAVE TO DO THIS EVERYDAY and if not then YOU ARE A LIAR!! and if i do it ONCE and not make it to heaven YOUR A LIAR.
@thomla7 Yes. Like I stated in another comment, we do not believe that being dipped in water saves us. Quit acting like were stupid. We believe that believing in Christ, having faith in His salvation work is necessary BEFORE, WHILE, and AFTER you are baptised in the name of Jesus. It is all of that mixed together. Not one or the other.
1Corth 1:17 For Christ sent me NOT to baptize, but to PREACH the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
Preaching God's WORD by the SPIRIT is what brings people to JESUS not baptism.
@thomla7 Of course Paul preached Christ and then he baptised them INTO Christ just like he was. Again, you have ignored the multitude of scriptures I have listed. This is what I mentioned on another comment:
I can show you scripture where baptism is 'for the remission of sins' (Acts 2:38), buried with Christ (Rom 6:1-8, Col 2:8-14), put on Christ (Gal 3:27-29), 'wash away your sins' (Acts 22:16) and 'baptism now saves you' (1 Peter 3:18-22).
@thomla7 Now you are just butchering scripture. What is the symbolic death and resurrection mentioned in Rom 6 and Col 2? Could it be we experience this symbolic death (old man) and resurrection (new man) through baptism (which is what the scripture says)?
Exacting!!! Calling on His Name!! That is why you are BAPTISED IN THE NAME OF JESUS. The name, and all that the name stands for, is what washes away the sins, not the water. The water that you are immersed in is the symbol.
@MrGregHack Do you ACTUALLY DIE and RESURRECT? NO so it is SYMBOLIC, PATTERN,EXAMPLE not ACTUAL.
Rom 8:9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the SPIRIT, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the SPIRIT of Christ, he is none of his.
DID it say WATER?
Exacting!!! Calling on His Name!! That is why you are BAPTISED IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! it proved it was calling on JESUS that washed away his sins NOT ARISE not WATER.
@thomla7 My goodness, you literally have no idea about our doctrine in accordance to baptism. You get on this video and try to slam what we believe without even understanding it. I have explained again and again what baptism symbolises and yet you continue to write these statements, just look at my previous comment. This discussion is leading nowhere.
@MrGregHack "I have explained again and again what baptism symbolises"
That is what i have been SAYING, IT'S SYMBOLIC!!!!
It is a OUTWARD ACT or ANSWER (1Peter 3) of what ACTUALLY SAVES.
If it is SYMBOLIC then it CANNOT or have POWER to wash away sins.
You're destroying your own DOCTRINE.
OH MY GOODNESS!!
If Acts 2:38 is the means of remission, YOU MUST KEEP DOING IT TO REMAIN SAVED and u do not do it EVERYDAY, u call it SILLY because u cannot ANSWER IT and proves your FALSE DOCTRINE.
@thomla7 It's a symbol yet it literally needs to be done in the name of Jesus. You are confusing yourself bro. If someone is dipped in water without the name of Jesus called out over them, and without their own repentance for their sins and belief in Jesus, then it means nothing. But all of that coupled together is necessary! Again, you just do not understand. You read without reading.
@MrGregHack "If someone is dipped in water without the name of Jesus called out over them, and without their own repentance for their sins and belief in Jesus, then it means nothing"
THAT'S A LIE and BLASPHEMOUS!!
Mark16:16 He that BELIEVETH and is BAPTIZED shall be saved but he that BELIEVETH NOT is DAMNED.
Believe refers to JESUS meaning if a person DOES NOT BELIEVE IN HIM is still SINNER no matter HOW MANY TIMES he is BAPTIZED.
If he BELIEVES HE IS NOT CONDEMNED, YOU'RE NOT GOD.
@MrGregHack "Now you are just butchering scripture."
I BUTCHER SCRIPTURE?
I have my masters including greek which i have not kept up with but i PREACH the GOSPEL and i have BAPTIZED those NOT for them to be SAVED but because they CONFESS and BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST SAVED THEM making them SAVED.
You guys make yourselves GOD by having power to BAPTIZE to SAVE PEOPLE when it is JESUS who says
Matt 7:23"I never knew you: depart from me" so he DECIDES WHO IS SAVED, NOT YOU or a BAPTIZER!!!
@thomla7 That makes no sense whatsoever. So by your theory you should never preach a convicting message that may cause someone to want to follow Christ. Again, we don't believe us dipping them under water saves them or else I could go to the beach and dunk people at random and they will be saved. No, you have to repent and have faith in Christ before, during and after you are baptised.
Doyleville1 2 days ago
@Doyleville1 matthew 28:19 says in the NAME (singular) and what is the name, the only saving name?? JESUS :)

Who is the Holy Spirit to you?
10uhcplz1 4 weeks ago
@10uhcplz1 The Holy Spirit is also referred to as the Holy Ghost. God is a Spirit. And he is Holy. The Holy Spirit is Almighty God. He overshadowed Mary to cause her to become with child. The Father is the Holy Spirit. That child was God manifest in the flesh. The Holy Spirit manifest in the flesh. Our heavenly father manifest in the flesh. The flesh was man. The spirit in that man was God. Also referred to the Spirit of Christ. Who is the Holy Spirit? Its Jesus. That's Gods name.
m8s4lif 4 weeks ago
@10uhcplz1 When someone receives the Holy Ghost, they are receiving what is referred to as Christ in you the hope of glory. God, who is a spirit, Jesus by name, was manifest in the flesh. Why? Because he loved you and did not want you to be lost. He willfully became the sacrifice for your sins. Everything that happened to the man Christ Jesus could be felt by the Spirit that dwelt inside of him. Much the same as your soul feels all the pain that your flesh feels. God loves you very very much.
m8s4lif 4 weeks ago
@m8s4lif Amen to that!!! I agree!!! For God so loved this world....that He gave His only Son.....John 3:16. (and it didn't take Tebow to make that one famous...lol..). I don't think we can ever in these bodies of flesh ever compehend His great love for us. Thanks be unto God and our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
10uhcplz1 4 weeks ago

God is not.
10uhcplz1 1 month ago
@10uhcplz1 The term right hand is a symbolic term that depicts power and authority. You will also see that term used with Gods throne which is heaven. Jesus has all power and authority. What was seen was Jesus. In every manifestation of Jesus, he is himself. He does have all power, that's why it refers to the right hand. Also different manifestations are not different persons. Just as you said about yourself being one person, so is God only one individual. God is not a plurality of persons.
m8s4lif 1 month ago
@m8s4lif Ok....I wrote it out for you. There is nothing symbolic about it. You can twist the word all you want to make it say what you need it to. Acts 7:55,..."Jesus standing on the right hand of God." then the second time in verse 56, "and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God." I know there is one God....the bible teaches us that. Let me ask you this,...who is the Holy Spirit?
10uhcplz1 4 weeks ago
My friends, please remember. It was Jesus who said that Peter knew who Jesus is. That Peter was given the keys to the kingdom of heaven. That Jesus said that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name [The name of Jesus] beginning at Jerusalem. And in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost, it was Peter that preached repentance and remission of sins in the name of Jesus. Acts 2:38

Why do people have such a hard time realizing that Jesus Christ was the Everlasting Father manifest in the flesh? Isaiah 9:6 and 1Timothy 3:16.
m8s4lif 1 month ago
@m8s4lif Was? He's still alive!!!! He is my High Priest...He ever liveth and intercedes for us at the right hand of The Father. Heb. 7:25. He is able to save them to the uttermost that come to GOD...BY HIM, (JESUS) seeing that He ever liveth to make intercession for them. With the power of the Holy Ghost we can do all things....thru Him and in Him.
10uhcplz1 1 month ago
The phrase, "name of Jesus" means authority or power. Everything we do should be done in the power and authority of Jesus. In Matthew 28:18 He says, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. He gave us the command to do all that we do in the same power and authority. It's much bigger than a method or formula. We are sent in His auhority and power....we answer to no one but Him and His way. Get past it and do as He commands. The same for preaching, healing, praying,,..etc.
10uhcplz1 1 month ago
I have one thing to say of it is Father,Son, and HolyGhost. Why are all these songs sung to Jesus, if there is three someone is going to be jealous right??? Jesus is taking all the attention. There is only One Lord One Faith One Baptism One God Jesus Christ.

@ELIPOUL Seriously? Someone is going to get jealous? What are you saying?
10uhcplz1 1 month ago
One God, who is one spirit, who is one Lord, who was manifest in the flesh. And his name is JESUS. The spirit that dwelt inside the body of the man Christ Jesus was the father. What is the name of the Father? What is the name of the Son? What is the name of the Spirit of God? JESUS. And Jesus said to be baptized in the name.
m8s4lif 1 month ago
@m8s4lif .....of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Matthew 28: 19. When Jesus was baptized, He came up out of the water, The Spiriit decended upon Him like a dove,....and a voice came from heaven, That was the Father. Three manifestions of one God. Which one was more God than the other?
10uhcplz1 1 month ago
@10uhcplz1 The Spirit is the Father. Remember that the Holy Ghost was the father of Jesus. That is the same spirit that dwelt inside of the man Christ Jesus. There is only one god. That one god is the spirit that was in Jesus. Also if you want to use the authority or power of Jesus then you must use the name of Jesus. Why do you not want to obey him?
m8s4lif 1 month ago
@m8s4lif Who said Im not? I agree totally on using the name of Jesus....that's the way I do it and I'm Baptist. I baptize the way Jesus said do it, and even in every bit of the power and authority He gives and that IS in His Holy Name that I can't get my feeble head around. Everything that I have as a Christian is in Him and thru Him.....praise HIS holy Name. I for one am not having a hard time at all with that.
10uhcplz1 1 month ago
@m8s4lif I never said there are 3 different Gods. The bible is very clear on that, Jesus, The Word of God made that very clear. I'm sure you've studied that. The only way we can be connected to God is thru Christ.
10uhcplz1 1 month ago
@10uhcplz1 Then have you been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. Do you believe that the one God is made up of only one Lord . God is not three individual persons. The one God of heaven is one individual. If I was mistaken for for thinking that you believed in the trinity and believed in baptism in the titles instead of his name, then please forgive me for my mistake. You must use the name in order to use the authority and power of his name.
m8s4lif 1 month ago
@m8s4lif The bible plainly teaches 3 manifestations of one God. There are plenty of examples of God being three different persons or roles yet still being one God. He is Lord how ever He chooses to manifest Himself to us in His word or otherwise. I am a person, an individual....there is not another of me. I am a (1) father, (2)a son, and as God created me, (3)a soul or spirit. Am I three different people? No. I can never be The Father, The Son, or The Holy Spirit. He Is One!
10uhcplz1 1 month ago
@m8s4lif So as long as I say the name I'm good to go? Well I think it goes a little deeper than that. He's already given us power and authority to do whatever is the will of the Father. Thru the power of the Holy Spirit we can do all things. I don't have to ask the government if I can preach, pray, study the word, evangelize,..etc. He's already told me that I can. The use of His power is not dependent on what I say or how I say it. It's not in the method. You're hung up on very shallow ground.
10uhcplz1 1 month ago
@10uhcplz1 Also, if you want his blood applied to you, then you have to be baptized in his name. It doesn't say "in his name be baptized" You have to call upon his name in baptism, just like Saul of Tarsus did. Peter got it right on the day of Pentecost. When you are baptized in his name, you are baptized unto his death.
m8s4lif 1 month ago
@m8s4lif No where in the bible does it teach that baptizm is to be done for salvation. We are saved by grace thru faith....it is not done thru ANY work of the flesh. I trust completely in the finished work of JESUS Christ on the cross to saved me. I confessed Him with my mouth and believed in my heart that GOD raised Him from the dead. ..and I was saved, I still am, and forever will be. Romans 10:9,10. No act of water baptizm ever saved anybody. It's nothing but the blood. Case closed.
10uhcplz1 4 weeks ago
@10uhcplz1 You just need to go back and read the Bible.

Laplois 2 months ago
@Laplois Jesus said to baptize in the name of the father, son and holy spirit. But non of the disciples did that? They always baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, that's because they knew exactly what He meant. There is only One full God, not 3 God's that make One. Jesus is the Only Lord. There wasn't even the word spirit in the original bible language, it was "breath" Jesus' breath is the Spirit, his spirit.
babipassion25 2 months ago
@babipassion25 "3 God's that make One"? Are you serious? With all due respect, it is fine if you don't know what the Trinity teaches. But if you don't, then maybe you shouldn't be comment on it. You sound like a Jehovah's Witness, because they use the same exact misrepresentation. The Trinity does NOT teach 3 Gods...We teach ONE God, in 3 PERSONS. Please, get the facts straight.
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@DerrickH1969 Three persons are DISTINCT yet coexist in unity, and are co-equal, co-eternal and consubstantial. The father isn't the same as the son or the holy spirit, they're seperate. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy spirit. How many Gods did I say in that statement? 3. It's still 3 Gods, even though you say they're really one. Not one God seen AS 3 persons, God IS 3 persons. I actually do know what i'm talking about, I've been studying catholicism and their teachings. God Bless
babipassion25 1 month ago
@babipassion25 Actually, no you don't. Although you do manage to correctly state it in your opening sentence, it is your interpretation of it that is false. It is not 3 "gods", anymore than me, my wife, and my 2 sons are 4 "families". We are distinct persons, but ONE family. It is ridiculous to suggest we are separate families, just as it is ridiculous to say the 3 Persons are 3 "gods". That was a very elementary understanding of the Trinity.
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@DerrickH1969 No but you, your wife and your two sons are sepetate people that make up one family. It's really not an elementary understanding. It's the right interpretation, you just don't like it because it makes the Trinity sound like polytheism.(not saying it is) 3 persons yet they make up one God, but each have the title God.
babipassion25 1 month ago
@babipassion25 Thank you so much! You just got the point! Me, my wife, and 2 sons are SEPARATE PEOPLE, yet one family. Exactly! We each share ONE family name. Not separate families. Any of us have equal right to be called "Holland" (our last name) individually, or collectively. No, I've never thought the Trinity sounded polytheistic in the least. Polytheism is like JW doctrine...a big God, and a little one. We just have one. But glad you got the point.
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@DerrickH1969 And I threw that little nugget about JW polytheism in there, because I have just learned I still have my JW internet stalker "watching" me. If anybody wants to talk about polytheism, JWs should be the last. I am not accusing you of being polytheistic (I assume you are Oneness?), but neither are Trinitarians, just for the record. We do not teach the separate Persons are separate "Gods".
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@babipassion25 And we have drifted from my original intent for writing you. The "elementary understanding" I was referring to, was your claim that it is "3 Gods in 1 God". This is not an attack against you, nor do I question your love for God. But to say that is what we believe is simply false. NO Trinitarian will agree with that. And a person with understanding of the subject, would not say it.
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@babipassion25 You also stated that Jesus is the only Lord. So do you deny that the Father is also Lord, or do you just deny that the Father and Son are distinct Persons? You have a major problem either way.
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@DerrickH1969 I don't have a problem at all. Jesus is the only Lord because He is the Father, the Son and the Holy spirit, they're all the same, not distinct persons. The Father=Jesus... The Son=Jesus... The Holy Spirit=Jesus.
babipassion25 1 month ago
@babipassion25 And yes, you DO have a problem if you maintain this and deny the distinction of Persons. I asked my former Oneness girlfriend to explain to me WHO Jesus prayed to, talked to, and referred to when He stated the "Father is greater than I", and countless other occasions. You have a God Who talks to Himself. How you can deny there are distinct Persons, is much more "mysterious" than a Trinity.
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@DerrickH1969 Great points! The bible is full of examples of Jesus talking to the Father and then promising the Holy Spirit to come and help us, guide us to all truth. Examples pilled on top of each other and then these deny that it even exsists. I am reminded of what Jesus said in Matthew 7:21,22, Not everyone that says Lord Lord shall enter into the kingdom. They prophesied, cast out devils, done many wonderful works, in His name. He says in verse 23 "depart from me.... I never knew you."
10uhcplz1 4 weeks ago

Why Derrick?...because YOU don't worship the true God of the Bible. And Derrick...it is all so silly...even though you say you worshipp One God....you worship Three...NONtrinitarians are not stupid derrick....we just don't believe your Greek Metaphysics:)
JAKEV25 1 month ago
@JAKEV25 First, I'm not sure that right now you need to be correcting other people's view of God. Second, I assure you I worship no other, than the true God of the Bible. As you know, I have solidly defended my doctrine from the very Bible you talk about. And as for non-trinitarians not being stupid...No, just deceived. To refute a doctrine like the Trinity, they have to distort it, because the TRUE teaching cannot be refuted. And we aren't stupid either, for that matter.
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@DerrickH1969 Derrick....there is no basis for refuting your dogma...It is not taught in the bible and Jesus never claimed to be God Almighty. None of Jesus' disciples believed that YHWH himself was walking among them...nor did they believe Jesus was Michael the Archangel.
JAKEV25 1 month ago
@DerrickH1969 And no Derrick.....we do not distort your dogma......we just don't believe in your definition of One God.....mainly "one eternal being of God - indivisible, infinite. This one being of God is shared by three co-equal, co-eternal persons, the Father, the Son, and the Spirit"....It is not that we do not UNDERSTAND your confusion....We just refuse to be part and parcel to that confusion...See the difference?
JAKEV25 1 month ago
@DerrickH1969 Go figure I was amused at you correcting this Oneness believer..
JAKEV25 1 month ago
@JAKEV25 Why would that surprise you? I am not prejudiced specifically against JWs, Jakev. I simply don't like ANYBODY using that false argument that we think there are 3 gods. I don't care if it is a JW, a Oneness, or anyone else. People who are ignorant shouldn't be commenting on things they don't know. I have no problem with a person not believing the Trinity, as long as they are honest. If its false, take a Bible and tear it apart. But don't claim it is something it isn't
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@JAKEV25 Jakev, we have been over this. You are about the blindest person I have ever seen on this topic. Forget what a 3 year old says...why can't YOU grasp it. There is NO Trinitarian now, or in the past 2,000 years, that believes the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 3 "gods". NONE. But I suppose you and Mr. Stumbled and Fallen Servant know more about our teaching than we do. Ever try to talk to that guy? What a jerk...doesn't like to be asked questions, so I stopped.
DerrickH1969 1 month ago
@DerrickH1969 The majority of evangelicals I have meet don't even realize they are trinitarians.
JAKEV25 1 month ago
@JAKEV25 Jakev, there is not a JW in all my years of dealing with you people, than can write anything about the Trinity without lying about it. Including you. And do you happen to have a copy of Benny Hinn's creed? I would love to see that one. Listen, why don't you go on back to Allexperts and help your friends there? Poor Grunbaum..aka...Daniel Selinski is about to blow a gasket. He tells off just about everybody who writes him anymore. He could use your support.
DerrickH1969 1 month ago

Read with the understanding
southernhawke 2 months ago

SiMichaelAko 3 months ago
@cheyocheyo You say that you would rather follow after the teachings of Jesus than the apostles but in 2 Tim 3:16 it says ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God. To not believe in Acts 2:38 says that the apostles were wrong and that the word of God is fallible. So thankful for His word!
SiMichaelAko 3 months ago
Jesus gave the great commission to baptize in the name of the father, son and holy ghost with the promise of the "comforter." The could not Baptize in the name of Jesus because He was not yet glorified. After his death burial and resurrection and after the Holy Ghost fell Peter received the revelation of baptism in the name of Jesus!
SiMichaelAko 3 months ago
@SiMichaelAko actually, according to John, Christ was glorified when he went to the cross (John 12; 17:1). So in conjunction with the synoptic gospels, Christ was already glorified when he gave the command to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And if Mangun is referring to Acts when he speaks about the 4 instances when they were baptized in Jesus name, that doesn't really give a mandate for it. Acts is Descriptive, NOT prescriptive.

@thomla7 James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Christians go to church on sunday, do the monthly communion, do a daily prayer, do some fasting once or twice a month, read the bible but the one thing that they neglect is the act of faith and obedience of being baptized even once in the name of Jesus....
zedrev01 3 months ago
@zedrev01 "James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
James was not talking about the FAITH that is SEEN by God in the heart and not by man but the faith that is visible to man which is by works but that does NOT make him JUSTIFIED before God but justified before men.
Luke 18:14, the Publican was JUSTIFIED by believing God can SAVE HIM not like the Pharisee WORKING to be saved, fasting, going to church, communion, baptism.

MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack Peter also preached to another groups of Jews in Acts 3, however, this time he didn't command them to repent and be baptized, but to repent and to convert so that their sins may be blotted out. If we are to accept the Oneness view, then Peter must have had it wrong the second time around.
Also, the Jews in Acts 2:37 did not asked what mich we do to be saved.
TheLayman316 5 months ago
@TheLayman316 I apologise for that one. I mixed up the question asked in Acts 2 w/ the one asked in Acts 16. They asked, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" after believing they had killed their Messiah and Peter responds with his statement. No one in the NT was baptised "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" they were baptised "in the name of Jesus" (Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 19:5, Acts 22:16)

Water baptism should be done, I agree, but it is not essential to salvation. If it was dependent upon our being baptized, then you are, in essence, saying that Christ's shed blood is not enough to save. John 3:16 "that whosoever BELIEVES on Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

@thomla7 once your baptized in Jesus name your washed in the blood so if you do sin you can ask for forgiveness and he will give it to you BC the sin goes under the blood and Jesus forgets about it
powerellis 5 months ago
@powerellis 1. There isn't one verse that teaches the actual formula that was spoken over a person while they were being baptized. So you can't anyone was baptized in Jesus name.
2. Baptism doesn't wash away sins. The blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. 1 Jn 1:7b ". . . and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." And Acts 15:9b ". . . purifying their hearts by faith."
Therefore your post is merely a religious belief and not a biblical truth.

JakeFrierson 7 months ago
@JakeFrierson except a man be born of the water and the spirit you need both. the plan of salvation was given after the death burial and resurrection of jesus before that jesus said he had power on earth to forgive sin what is the first message given by the disciples that heard the words of jesus and walked with him did they lie when they said repent and be baptized in the name of jesus christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the holy ghost
freddie8245 7 months ago
@JakeFrierson Jesus had not yet died or risen again when he spoke to the thief on the cross therefore His blood had not been shed for the remission of sins. So that example is not valid. The message preached by Peter on the Day of Pentecost after the death and resurrection of Jesus to a crowd hungry for salvation (see Acts 2:37-38) is what we need to look at. Also, Jesus had already been baptised (John 1) prior to giving the illustration to Nicodemus in John 3. Use Bible to explain Bible.
MrGregHack 6 months ago
@MrGregHack You're wrong. Jesus gave up His spirit before the thief died. Therefore the thief died under the new covenant. read carefully....
Heb 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
By means of His death was Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant. I suugest you read the context of this passage.
TheLayman316 5 months ago
@TheLayman316 So if Jesus never rose again there would still be a new covenant? Yes, Jesus is the Mediator because of His death but the new covenant would not exist without the resurrection. Surely you must believe that? Also, I do not understand how you can deny the necessity of baptism with so much evidence (Acts 2:38, 8:16, 10:48, 19:5, 22:16, Rom 6:1-8, Col 2:8-14, Gal 3:27-29, Mat 28:19, Mark 16: 15-18). And the clincher, read 1 Peter 3:18-22 and explain to me what the Apostle meant by that
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack Before we dive in a bunch of unrelated verses lets deal with Heb 9:15 first. What does the verse literally say?
Heb 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
By what "means" is Christ the Mediator of the new covenant?
"FOR THE redemption . . under the first covenant..for eternal inheritance.
TheLayman316 5 months ago
@TheLayman316 I already replied to that point. The thief on the cross was under the first covenant, we are under the NEW covenant. Secondly, do not disregard those scriptures as merely unrelated. Those scriptures listed above build a very strong foundation for the necessity of baptism. I have responded to your critiques now show me the same courtesy, explain to me what the Apostle meant when he wrote 1 Peter 3:18-22.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "The thief on the cross was under the first covenant"
Heb 9:15 he is the mediator of the N.T, that by MEANS of DEATH
V17For a testament is of FORCE AFTER men are DEAD:
So who died first Jesus or the theif?
The Jews wanted their legs broken to bring death quicker.
John 19:32Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. 33But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was DEAD ALREADY.
IT'S RIGHT THERE!!!
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 So you are saying the new covenant came into existence at the moment of Jesus's death? Then explain to me the necessity of the Resurrection? By your logic those who did not believe on Christ while He was in the grave, and happened to die that weekend thinking He was just another man, before He rose again, were not 'born again'. Hell, Death, and the Grave were not conquered until Jesus rose again. What is the purpose of being 'born again'? Conquering death and reigning with Christ.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack Notice, it said DEATH not the RESURRECTION
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 Yes but the author wrote his statement in Hebrews 9 with both the crucifixion and the resurrection in mind. So you believe Jesus didn't need to rise again?
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack Again, it said BY THE MEANS of DEATH, it did not say the RESURRECTION.
"BY THE MEANS of DEATH"
You just want to ADD to scripture which is why your in this teaching in the first place.
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 So what about my previous example, noticed you skipped over that one too, so I'll post it again:
"By your logic those who did not believe on Christ while He was in the grave, and happened to die that weekend thinking He was just another man, before He rose again, were not 'born again'."
Yes the new covenant came into existence when Christ died for our sins but the death didn't mean anything until the RESURRECTION! The writer of Hebrews 9 knew about both when he wrote this passage.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "So you believe Jesus didn't need to rise again?"
I should be the one to ask you that because if Jesus is the ONLY GOD then who raised him from the dead?
Lol

@thomla7 You obviously have no understanding of our theology. Read something on Oneness Pentecostalism by a Oneness Pentecostal before you ask silly questions like this.

'for the remission of sins' Acts 2:38
Again did you get BAPTIZED TODAY for your sins to be remitted?
If not then your a FALSE TEACHER.
As a matter of fact if anyone who gets BAPTIZED in JESUS NAME and does not get to heaven then you and others who teach this are LIARS because you are not GOD.
WOULD GOD ALLOW SALVATION TO BE DEPENDENT on the AVAILABILITY of WATER?
KIDDING MAN!!!

@thomla7 I'm not the one that said that bro, that was a quotation from Peter preaching in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost. You obviously have problems with scripture, not with me.

So you blame Peter? Lol
1Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, BY THE WORD of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
thomla7 5 months ago
@MrGregHack Peter do not THINK nor TEACH your doctrine he DENOUNCED it.
Circumsicion, baptism is a person performing a act upon another
Acts 15:7 that the Gentiles by my mouth should HEAR the WORD of the gospel, and BELIEVE. 8And God, which KNOWETH the HEARTS, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost
V10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a YOKE upon the neck of the disciples,
V11But we believe that through the GRACE of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be SAVED, even as they.
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 He is talking about circumcision in that passage, not baptism. I gave you two scriptures where Perter made emphatic statements about baptism: Acts 2:38-39 and 1 Peter 3:18-22
Paul said in Col 2 that baptism actually replaced circumcision. Just like circumcision was a sign of a Jew entering into covenant w/ the Lord in the OT, baptism is a sign of a believer entering into covenant w/ the Lod in the NT. Pretty simple.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "'He is talking about circumcision "
Yes he was and circumcision is a ceremony or ritual just as baptism but the point is what was his ANSWER
8And God, which knoweth the HEARTS, giving them the Holy Ghost; 9and them, PURIFYING their hearts by FAITH. 10Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a YOKE upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11But we believe that through the GRACE of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be SAVED.
WHERE IS BAPTISM?
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 No that is not the point. First, you cannot just insert baptism in there along with circumcision. Sorry, that is reading your beliefs into the text. Second, ask yourself why they are having the meeting in Jerusalem in the first place.
The reason they were meeting is because Gentiles were being baptised and filled with the Spirit along with Jews (Acts 8:12-17, Acts 8:27-38, Acts 10:44-48) and the Jews wanted them to be circumcised like them. The Gentiles were already believers.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "No that is not the point."
Your IGNORING the point.
WHAT DID PETER SAY HOW GOD SAVED THE GENTILES?
8And God, which knoweth the HEARTS, giving them the Holy Ghost;
9and them, PURIFYING their hearts by FAITH.
10Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a YOKE upon the neck
11But we believe that THRU the GRACE of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be SAVED.
NOTHING ABOUT BAPTISM!
Your teaching make baptism a YOKE CHOKING PEOPLE and cannot bear because u do not do it EVERYDAY.
thomla7 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "Just like circumcision was a sign"
Your confused man, baptism cannot be the means of salvation and be a sign so it is a SYMBOL or SIGN which means it's just JUSTFIFCATION between man and man but NOT justification between MAN and GOD because GOD sees the heart NOT man.
Like i said, if anyone get baptized in JESUS NAME and does not go to heaven then either you're a LIAR, or GOD, PERIOD.
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 It is part of the salvation process. You do not get baptised in Jesus name until you have first repented and have faith in Christ. So baptism is part of the process. Like I have said three times now people do not just show up to Church and get baptised.
By the way, it is a symbol of what is REALLY happening - their sins are remitted (Acts 2:38), they are buried and rise w/ Christ (Rom 6:1-8, Col 2:8-14) and they put on Christ (Gal 3:27-29). So it is necessary for salvation.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "It is part of the salvation process"
It is NOT apart of salvation process, we are NOT EVEN apart of the salvation process or plan.
JESUS is and has COMPLETED the PROCESS of salvation that is why it TAKES FAITH/BELIEF in HIM for us to BE SAVED because he POSSESSES salvation.
YOU CANNOT BELIEVE or have FAITH in BAPTISM because it does not have any POWER or AUTHORITY to SAVE.
It's not my car that brings me to work but FAITH in GOD that does it and then by HIS GRACE i make to work

Now did you do this TODAY, if NOT, your still in your SINS, YOU ARE NOT buried and is risen with Christ and did NOT PUT ON Christ.
YOU HAVE TO DO THIS EVERYDAY and if not then YOU ARE A LIAR!! and if i do it ONCE and not make it to heaven YOUR A LIAR.
thomla7 5 months ago
1PETER 3 REALLY.
Baptism is the ASNWER of a GOOD CONSCIENCE and that good conscience comes from the preached gospel not from baptism.
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 Yes. Like I stated in another comment, we do not believe that being dipped in water saves us. Quit acting like were stupid. We believe that believing in Christ, having faith in His salvation work is necessary BEFORE, WHILE, and AFTER you are baptised in the name of Jesus. It is all of that mixed together. Not one or the other.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "Like I stated in another comment, we do not believe that being dipped in water saves us."
Well did you get baptized TODAY to wash away your sins, unless your sinless after baptism.
YOU MUST GET BAPTIZED EVERYDAY TO WASH AWAY YOUR SINS, if not YOUR DOCTRINE IS FALSE PERIOD.
thomla7 5 months ago
1Corth 1:17 For Christ sent me NOT to baptize, but to PREACH the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
Preaching God's WORD by the SPIRIT is what brings people to JESUS not baptism.
Paul did not PREACH BAPTISM but Jesus.
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 Of course Paul preached Christ and then he baptised them INTO Christ just like he was. Again, you have ignored the multitude of scriptures I have listed. This is what I mentioned on another comment:
I can show you scripture where baptism is 'for the remission of sins' (Acts 2:38), buried with Christ (Rom 6:1-8, Col 2:8-14), put on Christ (Gal 3:27-29), 'wash away your sins' (Acts 22:16) and 'baptism now saves you' (1 Peter 3:18-22).
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack Rom 6:1-8, Col 2:8-14 Do you actually DIE and RISE again like Jesus? do you? NO
Therefore it is SYMBOLIC.
Do you actually eat Jesus flesh and drink his blood in COMMUNION?
Acts 22:16 arise, AND be baptized, AND wash away thy sins,(NO "and") calling on the name of the Lord.
AND greek "kai" seperates the action (verb), there is only a "comma" between sins and calling meaning it is CALLING on GOD is what washes AWAY SINS.
1John 1:9If we confess our sins, forgive us our sins
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 Now you are just butchering scripture. What is the symbolic death and resurrection mentioned in Rom 6 and Col 2? Could it be we experience this symbolic death (old man) and resurrection (new man) through baptism (which is what the scripture says)?
Exacting!!! Calling on His Name!! That is why you are BAPTISED IN THE NAME OF JESUS. The name, and all that the name stands for, is what washes away the sins, not the water. The water that you are immersed in is the symbol.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
DO U ARISE and BAPTIZE everyday?
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 My goodness, you literally have no idea about our doctrine in accordance to baptism. You get on this video and try to slam what we believe without even understanding it. I have explained again and again what baptism symbolises and yet you continue to write these statements, just look at my previous comment. This discussion is leading nowhere.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "I have explained again and again what baptism symbolises"
That is what i have been SAYING, IT'S SYMBOLIC!!!!
It is a OUTWARD ACT or ANSWER (1Peter 3) of what ACTUALLY SAVES.
If it is SYMBOLIC then it CANNOT or have POWER to wash away sins.
You're destroying your own DOCTRINE.
OH MY GOODNESS!!
If Acts 2:38 is the means of remission, YOU MUST KEEP DOING IT TO REMAIN SAVED and u do not do it EVERYDAY, u call it SILLY because u cannot ANSWER IT and proves your FALSE DOCTRINE.
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 It's a symbol yet it literally needs to be done in the name of Jesus. You are confusing yourself bro. If someone is dipped in water without the name of Jesus called out over them, and without their own repentance for their sins and belief in Jesus, then it means nothing. But all of that coupled together is necessary! Again, you just do not understand. You read without reading.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "If someone is dipped in water without the name of Jesus called out over them, and without their own repentance for their sins and belief in Jesus, then it means nothing"
THAT'S A LIE and BLASPHEMOUS!!
Mark16:16 He that BELIEVETH and is BAPTIZED shall be saved but he that BELIEVETH NOT is DAMNED.
Believe refers to JESUS meaning if a person DOES NOT BELIEVE IN HIM is still SINNER no matter HOW MANY TIMES he is BAPTIZED.
If he BELIEVES HE IS NOT CONDEMNED, YOU'RE NOT GOD.
thomla7 5 months ago
@MrGregHack "Now you are just butchering scripture."
I BUTCHER SCRIPTURE?
I have my masters including greek which i have not kept up with but i PREACH the GOSPEL and i have BAPTIZED those NOT for them to be SAVED but because they CONFESS and BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST SAVED THEM making them SAVED.
You guys make yourselves GOD by having power to BAPTIZE to SAVE PEOPLE when it is JESUS who says
Matt 7:23"I never knew you: depart from me" so he DECIDES WHO IS SAVED, NOT YOU or a BAPTIZER!!!
thomla7 5 months ago
@thomla7 That makes no sense whatsoever. So by your theory you should never preach a convicting message that may cause someone to want to follow Christ. Again, we don't believe us dipping them under water saves them or else I could go to the beach and dunk people at random and they will be saved. No, you have to repent and have faith in Christ before, during and after you are baptised.
MrGregHack 5 months ago
@thomla7 I did happen to notice that you ignored 1 Peter 3:18-22 though, along with the long list of scriptures I provided above.
