Great stuff as usual Chris, what a pity I was away or we would have had even more coverage.... All I have to offer is a very grubby 2-6-2 and a narrow gauge thing????
Very nice indeed Chris - the shots at Lostock Hall are really great. I was a bit worried he wouldn't open it up, but when he does the noise is terrific, combined with the light. And, the Blea Moor panoramic view is really special, and great to see them giving it some stick through the sidings. And you managed the sun on engine/dark hills thing again! Is there a special prayer or chant I can do?! Thanks, David.
I guess she was opened up to master the climb up to the main line crossing. I had not been to that precise location before so that "silhouette" was an unexpected bonus. I've admired your use of panoramic settings so am trying harder. Still need to replace my tripod and head with something (anything) smoother. Thanks - Chris
I've used a Velbon DV-7000 Professional video tripod since Christmas. It has a fluid head and you can adjust the sensitivity of the panning (i.e. less or more resistance). I've been pleased with mine, and got it from the RSPB centre at Leighton Moss (Silverdale). You can get them a bit cheaper online, but I thought it'd be nice for the money to go to a good cause. Hope this helps. Cheers, David.
It was planned to be better. I waited for two hours after the Duke of Gloucester was due at Mallerstaing (not knowing she had sadly failed at Penrith) and was then too late to get back to see Duchess of Sutherland near Chester. The Duke was also supposed to pass the location I was at for 45407 (going light engine in the other direction) just 20 minutes before 45407 but had apparently been given a path some 30 minutes earlier. You can't win them all.
Wow! what a video! You seem to have an eye for a location, it was a master-stroke to choose a location back from the track and get the long view of the train. It was really something to see the time interval between the plume of steam from the whistle and hearing it. Wonderful video.
Love all the "sheepy" noises - shades of Peter Handford!! Love the video - thanks.

Love trains, and loved this video. Also loved seeing the countryside over there. Saving it to my favorites.

Thanks Ralph and welcome back. You've missed (amongst other things) two good runs by Princess Elizabeth.
Hope you enjoyed your firing and I'll look forward to any footage you captured. Chris

You seem to get around a fair bit two rail tours in one day with several locations on the second one.
